This is amazing! I commissioned a local luthier to make me a baritone les paul uke and I'm pretty surprised at how scarce electric-guitar themed baritone ukes are. They sound so unique!
Since I see a magnetic pickup, I have to assume that the strings are steel, not plastic or gut. And the obvious scale length is greater than 21” so I would call this a tenor guitar with Chicago tuning, not a baritone ukulele. It’s really nice, though.
It'a a BEAUTY and the sound is pretty damned great too! I love your electric baris, I'd love to save up enough to get a Strat bodied bari uke commissioned one day.
That's interesting that you are using a pickup for 6 strings. I had to look really hard for electric 4 string pickups for my tenor electric ukulele I'm building. This is encouraging because there are better quality 6 string humbuckers, and the quality of the 4 string ones aren't great. I tried to use a base guitar pickup for mine, but it didn't sound right either. I always thought that 4 strings = 4 string pickup and so on.
Regular guitar pickups are the way to go -- you know what you are getting! The strings will not center over the pole pieces, but that it won't affect it sonically, just visually (and you can always use lipsticks, or rails, or firebird style pickups to make pole piece moot if you want). Plus, I kind of like the look of the full sized pickup on a small body -- kind of a big eyed puppy vibe.
I haven't even taken the pickups out of the packaging yet, so I have no idea if they're any good. But as long as it sounds good that's all I need. I'm building a tenor electric uke with a solid epoxy body. But my neck has to be custom. I already own one of the Flight Centurion electric tenor so I'm basing my measurements on that. I'm nervous about the neck. The last time I did a custom one I glued it, but I might opt for a bolt on option so I can put a shim in to fix any angle changes on the action @@sodoelectrics272
I tried comisioning one but sadly he never responded to my emails. I ended up comisioning something from another Luthier. Sadly, it won't be done until around December.

OK cool! I haven't done a strat uke yet, actually, so that would be a fun project!
Very cool.
Lovely!!

I use a “hot rail” 6 string pickup for electric tenor guitars so I don’t have to worry about string spacing.
i love ittt
I have a question. Where do u find some tabs etc... for this type of uke bcs im probably gonna get one and i dont where to search for this
It’s beautiful I’m definitely going to be thinking of getting one. What is it’s weight?
It’s about 6 lbs depending on the wood
Can you do a tutorial for this song?? Also how much are your instruments??
Hey man, do you know how much this uke costs ? Or did you make it your own !?
(Because it's what I'm searching for)
Thank you !
I build them myself. Email me sodoelectrics@gmail.com if you want and we can discuss details!
Qual o valor de um instrumento assim?
How much do you sell these for?
One like that is around $600US (+shipping). With two pickups or more elaborate design it's 600-800$.
What make is the Uke ?
SoDo Electrics - these are handmade by me.
I tried comisioning one but sadly he never responded to my emails. I ended up comisioning something from another Luthier. Sadly, it won't be done until around December.
Hi - did you email me? What address did you use, I don't think I ever received anything. Best way to contact me is sodoelectrics@gmail.com
Yes, its a Uke', but it "identifies" as a tenor guitar.
