Firefly made a bucket head copy. Idk if the body was the bigger size as well but it was a white custom with the arcade killswitches. It sold out pretty quick.
It’s a good thing you are experienced with medieval swords! That is one long giraffe neck on this guitar. Great sound! You give a thorough session complete with plus points to appreciate such as the neck joint and some constructive criticism to consider. Overall, Firefly price point and quality level has a lot to offer. Injured guitar? May have to repair and deck out with some new metallic glitter tattoos. Amazing what airbrush art could look do with the right artist.
Never thought I'd catch myself drooling at an LP. Nothing really wrong with the style, don't get me wrong, I just like my tuners all on one side and my pickup selector to actually point in the direction of the pickup being selected. But that baritone in looks and sound is so goddamn gorgeous that my personal gripes about layout just fall by the wayside.
I would put a surface mounted chrome finished bottle opener around the volume knob and some custom kitchen cabinet handles by the toggle switch to give off a 50's vibe vintage style look to the guitar.
I helped get these done, I suggested the Belly cut and the 24 frets as wel as the neck cutaway, i have modded mine qith locking tuners and a Rallilhammer Chisel and Nuevo 90 aetup for pickups, i have also helped with the 30 scale with reverse headstock and a few others as am an avid barotone fan, my favorite baritone this far is the Semi hollow, there is a matte black single pickup version of the LP coming end of this month
Sweet baritone guitar. Ever since I got my 34" scale bass, I've been wanting a 34" scale guitar. Too bad about the damage to the blue one. I would make up a little pick guard plate that goes over all the knobs. Could make a little circle out of the same to cover damage around the toggle if there is some. You could make up something cool in a simple CAD program, then have an online printing company make a couple for you to screw on. It might even look better with a cool a pick guard.
I got one of these and I love it - but BEWARE, the neck is fat (regardless of what Max says) and mine needed 1) a fret level job to eleminate fret buzz in mulitple places across fretboard and 2) a proper setup and intonation and 3) fret polishing and 4) the Nut slots needed adjustment for the heavier gauge strings (because it ships with "guitar" strings instead of Barritone gauge strings which are actually much thicker (60 gauge or more) !!!!! So this was NOT an out of the box experience for me in any way. Final cost after shipping and luthier and new proper strings 570$ - (220 + 100 + 270) .... I love it ... but you need to know what you are getting yourself into. BTW, there is a SCHECTER Barritone which probably is a better deal out of the box.
That’s 270 reasons to learn to do that work yourself. And that’s on one guitar only. I expect some work on every guitar I buy. Doing the finishing touches like polishing is quite satisfying work.
Man there have been at least a half dozen Firefly guitars I would have bought on sight with the price being what they are but they don't ship to Canada and that is WANK
As for the ruined guitar, you could glue it back together, reinforce the backside and put a round high quality sticker of sorts on top to hide the damages.
Max, I feel your pain! Even though that's an inexpensive guitar, it's still beautiful (or was), so heartbreaking when an accident happens. But we've all had those moments! Least it wasn't a high end, expensive or vintage instrument!
That barritone is super cool. I'd get one if the Fireflys were available in Europe. But that blue guitar, oh man, what a pity it got broken. I was thinking the same, just fixing it would probably be doable even as a DIY, but how would you replicate the beautiful paint?
I was curious to hear how the firefly baritones sounded played metal style. Thank you for showing me. I’m really interested in getting the SG style, but I want to wait and see if they release one in matte Black or all black the dark Cherry doesn’t look bad but I wanna wait and see. As far as the three pick up guitar, I will get it repaired and then try and do a relic job on it. I’m sure the repairs would fit into the relic scheme.
Hey, I have one of these genuinely play it everyday, checked a lot of boxes for me, I am having some issues with the neck pickup. I think it's a ground issue, but I love the feel overall.
They used to, I got one directly to the Caribbean for like $30 extra about 3/4 years ago (LP LE SP), myb because of damage in transit, cutting through profits. I would've prob bought like 5 more FireFly's if shipping was available.
That sucks that the one take failed due to audio issues, you could next time have 2 microphones that you can use so that if the one sounded bad or broken, you got the second microphone track as a backup.
Argghh regarding the Firefly three humbucker "glam" lp series. Hopefully you were kidding about burying it! I bought mine a day or so after seeing your "all-in-one-take" review of it. I like it ALOT. And, for that kind of money-wtf lol.....
Offer international shipping or create a warehouse in europe - they could easily triple or quadruple the production volume if they'd target more markets
My last guitar was stolen out of my garage 10 years ago, havent had one since. Id pay shipping for the blue sparkle. Jb weld it back together. As long as it plays. Alive in L.A.
A good baritone electric is generally heavy...... not a bad strategy to have a way to suspend it from above so you can still move somewhat... and concentrate on playing instead of holding it
Hey Max would you happen to own a Harley Benton JA baritone? I’ve been eyeballing the FireFly offset baritones and the Harley Benton JA baritone possibly a Squier tele classic vibe baritone. But I rather pay less than 200$ considering it will be my first baritone and I haven’t played in years. If you do own a Harley Benton JA baritone. Could you just hit me in the chin with it and tell me which one of the two I should order. The Harley Benton or the FireFly haha I enjoy watching your content thank you for ur videos and the effort you put into them man! 🤘
Won't get that binding like that on the back of a gibson!!!!!!!!!!! Firefly's are premium for pence!!!! Not a sparkle dude but what a shame that guit took a hit like that!! I have at least 6 different FF's and couldn't be happier. I do have a baritone. But it's a headless Agile. Twice the price but man it's killer!!!!!
Don't take your eye out with that long neck😅 That really sucks that you knock that thing off the stool😢 All I could say is maybe move that pot to another location and put some sort of cover over it maybe a poker chip or something to cover it and then write guitar Max on it or something I don't know I would be irritated. The only saving Grace is like you said The guitar is only worth a couple hundred bucks +. But yeah you ought to do some design of some sort at first I was thinking tape but that probably won't work so maybe just move the knob and put a poker chip over it because that paint job is badass. Anyways thanks for the video See you on the next one Max! Hang in there buddy!!!👍
Me, I would glue that blue one and just do as well as I could with it and not sweat the looks, playing it does not require a perfect paint finish. Guitars are still for making music.
Never played a baritone. Always wondered about the tuning tho. Im assuming most ppl tune it like a normal guitar in e standard but to b. But couldnt you also tune it like the bottom six strings of a 7 string? I wonder what would be the pros/cons of each. Obviously the 1st would make more sense for a normal 6 string player. But maybe the 2nd way would be easier for someone that literally just plays 7 strings lol. Idk just a random thought ive had floating in my head for awhile lol
I ordered one and immediately went back to the listing and it was gone. I don't expect perfect guitars at this price point but this one arrived perfect cosmetically. It was perfectly intonated but needs the frets polished. It had no high frets. The string spacing has the high and low strings pretty far from the edge. Anybody have a report on the LP style guitar with the floyd type bridge?
I can't use a baritone, I need the 24.75 scale with upper fret access like this one, the 24 fret feature ok either way. The prophecy's have changed, they were 24 fret in the beginning I had a couple of them but they should have designed them to look like the standards. I love every detail about this new Firefly except the baritone aspect. ........ OOOPPS, I forgot, there is no way on earth I would by an otherwise gorgeous beauty like this one, without block inlays.
I say repair the damage to the guitar physically (wood glue and a lot of sanding are probably your best bet) and don't worry about the paint. That will make it a "relic" which means it costs more and "sounds better" ;)
Sounds great as a Rhythm guitar. Im not sure anyone would buy a Baratone guitar to play leads but then again there are no rules. Give the ACE guitar away ?
epoxy would fix your guitar. tape the hole off from the front. pour the epoxy in from the rear keeping the guitar flat. not perfect but it would work. then drill a new hole
My Steinberger headless is the baritone neck version and baritone guitars are very tough to bend strings due to tension unless they are tuned to much lower tuning. And unless that is done, the tension when bending will break the 8's and even 9's easily, if hitting the bent pitch fully. Baritone guitars are great except the need to bend...
I bought one of the Adam Jones knockoffs. It's got Medusa on the back. Instead of calling it the Adam Jones, O call mine the Albert Johns!😂 (BTW I don't know who on the heck Albert Johns is lol). That's the name that popped up in my head.
On the "Bone Head" guitar, can you rewire it into just one volume and one tone? Use other hole for a kill switch. Try to patch up hole best you can. Either repaint it with spray cans or put KiSS stickers all over it. Or just buy another one and say you fixed it. Use parts for other projects. 😅
These videos are cool but also sad for me as a left handed player. I’m left out, no pun intended lol. I got to a music store nothing for me. Guitar center got hundreds , maybe two I can try. This firefly brand got nothing for me 😢
My birthday was the day before halloween, my gf asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said that I wanted exactly this model... Instead I received cash and was I asked her if she had a choice of any of the models on their website what she would get me... she picked the sunburst ML copy... I hope she didn't pick wrong! lol
I'd like to know how you and others get these guitars, I sent repeated messages to guitar garden over the last 3 months and Haven't gotten 1 reply, I was going to buy from them, but got tired of deaf blind people operating their website ,so I bought a Stratocaster instead,
I bought one of these Firefly LesP style guitars and it's absolutely horrid. It has all that fine inlay work, but it's crooked and the net carve looks like it was done by hand and is uneven, as is the headstock. If mine speaks for the example of their quality control I wouldn't risk your reputation by recommending them.
I love how Buckethead approached this situation. He made the body bigger so the long neck doesn't look abnormal
Plus he is 6’ 6” without the Bucket. And most his stuff is E flat!
I love Buckethead too, a great and underrated guitar player here in Europe where I live. The Monsters ans robots amazed me for years
Firefly made a bucket head copy. Idk if the body was the bigger size as well but it was a white custom with the arcade killswitches. It sold out pretty quick.
Yep whenever I click one of their links I'm always late 🥲 They do great things for very low prices. I'm a fan 👍🏻 @presmasterflash7555
@@presmasterflash7555 I believe it's the standard size 9" body
Alright, hearing Max get some chugs in was badass. We need more of that!
Definitely want one of these to keep tuned to C# Standard
I agree with you about 7 strings (low end).👨🎤
It’s a good thing you are experienced with medieval swords! That is one long giraffe neck on this guitar. Great sound! Ive been waiting, finally!
Now a double cut with string through body and a reverse headstock and im all in!
Never thought I'd catch myself drooling at an LP. Firefly never ceases to amaze me , constantly innovative and affordable.
Great review man! Love the low heavy sound!
Can’t imagine what a baritone Gibson black beauty would cost. The chug is there & melodically capable.
Sweet baritone guitar. Ever since I got my 34" scale bass, I've been wanting a 34" scale guitar. Too bad about the damage to the blue one. Can you do a video with some Ibanezes?
Oh how i wish I could afford one. Maybe next year.
I love mine so much!
I was curious to hear how the firefly baritones sounded played metal style. Thank you for showing me. Hate that they don't seem to ship internationally. Imagine slapping some zakk wylde emgs on that thing, it would RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! I want one

Just needed some MOP inlays❤️👍
Do a contest. I love beat up guitars. Gots character.
That sucks that the one take failed due to audio issues, you could next time have 2 microphones that you can use so that if the one sounded bad or broken, you got the second microphone track as a backup.
GUITAR MAXX!!!! 🤘🔥🔥
The guitar physically looks cool and sounds heavy!

An ebony fretboard with block inlays is all it needs.
Love it !!!
My last guitar was stolen out of my garage 10 years ago, havent had one since.
Id pay shipping for the blue sparkle. Jb weld it back together. As long as it plays.
Alive in L.A.
oh, wow! i feel your pain - i just discovered a small ding on the front of my seagull acoustic 12er - man!

Amazing looks and sounds from that beast. Now I cant wait to get one. LOL
I think the best thing to do with the sparkle blue Paul style is .. Send it to me😂
Time for you to have a broken guitar give away for one of your subs!...BTW I love that baritone guitar too.
Just noticed all the Ham Radio gear in the background, Nice! Is that a Hallicrafters Model S-38C shortwave radio I spy?
Could be, but also could be old radio gear that's been converted to audio gear... that sometimes happens.
Yes it is. I listened to radio moscow's comedic claims through the 80s on that model.
Does it neck dive, Max?
I want this!!!
Do they come from the same place as harley bentons? Interesting this comes out the same time as the hunter signature
Keep in mind if you play in a cover band doing AC/DC, Journey, etc. with high vocal ranges, you can cover alot more songs for your singer...
Send the blue burst sparkle to me, I’d love a cheap punk guitar!
For the damaged guitar patch the hole and relic the body so it looks intentional.
Firefly is looking like some great sounding wall art guitars lol
Won't get that binding like that on the back of a gibson!!!!!!!!!!! Firefly's are premium for pence!!!! Not a sparkle dude but what a shame that guit took a hit like that!! Looks like a no-brainer steal at that price it's amazing actually and I would be tempted if I wasn't baritone fat

Always very cool reviews !

Give the guitar away
It's not on the website.
I would have gone in on this, but why the hell would you put dots on a Les Paul??
It would be 10X cooler with no inlays. Dots on LPs are for dorks.
Mm, I would turn it to a bass guitar with bass strings just to confuse people with LP style bass guitar, six strings ala Fender VI. :P
Sounds great as a Rhythm guitar. Im not sure anyone would buy a Baratone guitar to play leads but then again there are no rules. Give the ACE guitar away ?
welp, this guitar doesn't seem to be available anywhere already.
🤘😎🤘🔥🎸🔥🎸
Hard to just get on board with a 24 fret Les paul
Bad ass guitar... but I think there is a ground issue that need to get fixed
Do a giveaway. A viewer wins a free custom firefly guitar damaged by none other than Guitar Max. Sign it too!
Baritones are great. Time to play some Fear Factory on a Les Paul 😂
No chance to buy it from Germany 😢
epoxy would fix your guitar. tape the hole off from the front. pour the epoxy in from the rear keeping the guitar flat. not perfect but it would work. then drill a new hole

If its a solid body that shouldnt have happened to the knob...
See if theyll exchange it for you.
Could have been worse you might have snapped the headstock on the blue guitar just fix it the best you can
I dont think people who want a baritone are concerned about the 24th fret access haha
Sounds nothing like the legendary Gibson Les Paul custom.
These videos are cool but also sad for me as a left handed player. I’m left out, no pun intended lol. I got to a music store nothing for me. Guitar center got hundreds , maybe two I can try. This firefly brand got nothing for me 😢

At that price it's cheaper than the ugly satin finish Epiphone baritone years and decades ago

Is Gibson gonna sue? 😂
Distress it
Give it away. 😉 I have a broken guitar rescue where it can run and play with other physically challenged guitars lol. Or beat the $@?& outta it. 🤷♂️
Lol they need to make one in 30 inches
I think you should sign the damaged guitar, put a comment or two on it, and auction it off on this RUclips channel.
Well if you don't have PayPal you can't buy anything. Only option on the website. OK. I guess someone else can take my $.
I didn't like 7-string baritone it's not for me..... six is enough
leave it as is as a constant reminder don't do that again.
Already gone. Sad AF. If they still had them I'd likely be placing my order instead of typing this comment.
(Sad musician noises.)
