- Time to see if the BMW F30 335i that I purchased is worthy of a serious build. I knew that it would be an uphill battle the minute I left the dealer with it but that the risk may pay off. In today's video I will address some of the comments that were left in the car's reveal video and give the f30 a proper inspection to determine how much I am screwed. #Clapped

I'm not going to lie, I died of laughter with how meticulous and methodical you with showing the areas of concern on this car. The amount of issues is astounding and yet you've found and resolved most of them within a few days of ownership.
I originally started watching your channel to learn how to maintain and modify cars. The enthusiasm and love for what you're doing has inspired me to work on and modify my own car. I actually own an Audi B9 S5 and although the whole build is different in make up, the knowledge passed on has let me feel its a worthy challenge to tackle. Hope you keep making great videos and that I may even get to meet you one day!

I really appreciate the emphasis on maintenance first. The younger BMW community, 20-40 (which includes myself), has become so toxic on these now affordable high performance platforms because people just don't realize you have to have a healthy car before you modify. So many threads bashing a company for a new turbo failing and you can clearly see the entire engine is covered in 5 years of oil from a failing VCG and OFHG.

I’m dying. Loose grille + tail light, dents, blown struts, CarPlay not working, trunk issues, wrong size tires and once I heard the windshield wipers I busted out laughing. It’s like I’m looking at my own E90 😂 I feel the pain.

The quality of the content has been gradually increasing from a couple of years ago and I'm loving it man.
Mentioned on the last vid how I got a MB C300 instead of an E90- but the dealership pulled the same thing- after a week I saw smoke and smelled burning oil. Had over 8k of "delayed maintenance" aka fluid leaking out of every crevice that destroyed motor and trans mounts. Luckily they threw in a 90day warranty on mine- so they paid to fix it, but yeah- lost all faith in dealerships. I am super excited to see your progress and how this clapped out bimmer turns around.
Btw what everyone is referring to when they say this n55 has a “ blow off valve “ they are referring to the cars upgraded diverter valve, it’s next to the turbo, I did mine as well, sounded identical to yours. It’s an upgraded diverter valve not BOV, a true bov came on the n54. Since the n54 was pneumatically controlled and the n55 was electronically Controlled. The way the diverter valves are run between these two models is completely different, one is old style, one is new. Someone has made a RUclips video on it you just gotta look it up. Very hyped for this series I’ll be here every video

I use to think the same about the early F30 335i because that is the case in Canadian cars but I learned through Kies Motorsports that it's common with US spec cars to not have those. Like for example, in the US you can get a base model 340i with the small screen and non M sport but in Canada, all 340i come with the bigger screen and M sport package.
Cool learning about the F30s, I'm only a bit knowledgable on the e46s. Heavily agree, maintenance, maintenance, maintenance!
Recently bought myself a 12' f30 335i aswell. Mechanic special for 5k. Turned into a new motor lol. Not a m sport but has zf8, paddles, and some decent aftermarket parts. Still learning alot about the car and just hope it was a good investment. Plan to use it as a commuter
Went through the same stuff when I got my f30 n55 I replaced both the OFH gaskets, VCG, and got a fresh coolant reservoir with nice blue coolant.
A lot of times when you open the oil filter housing, you will see tiny metal sparkles in the oil. I’ve been told it’s from the aluminum threading’s. I see it on mine too, and after doing research i see that’s very common

I believe in 2014 is when they changed to the sporty shifter and paddle shifters. At least that’s what I was told when I got mine 🤷🏻♂️ funny how many people think the wood trim isn’t an m sport thing. I have the build sheet on mine, and the wood was optioned at the dealership 🤦🏻♂️

I hope you guys prime the motor after ofhg and cooler gasket. Without priming the motor air bubble in the system can cause oil starvation and damage the rod bearings.
Yeah I bought a 2012 and it makes the same noises and there isn’t a blow off valve what causes that?
Usually when the oil cooler is bad the car will have an extreme amount of pressure build up and spill water out and you will get a low coolant or overheating warning. Can also be trans cooler in certain cases very rare on F series but can occur.
I just bought a 2013 f30 335i with leather seats I neither have the paddle shifters nor I see button for the heated and cool seats I’m supposed to have any suggestions?

My 2017 X5 xDrive35i has M Sport what I like the most is the black gloss shadow line, M sport suspension, M Performance exhaust etc. I think your F30 is packaged very similarly to my F15

I had this version, replaced my engine, 2013 models were terrible, no USB port no combox missing suspension
My last two m cars was '06 M3 had 99,000 on it and now I'm driving a 335i with 72,000 on it Thanks to Chris All your heads up I appreciate neither one of these cars have ever burned any oil once they start burning oil you better find out why because it's not normal , jess!

I think this channel needs a good refreshing air. Here is what I would do. If you got extra cash flowing in. Sell all of the cars and combine the money to buy a F90 M5 or F92 M8. Both are great daily drivers and with just downpipes and a tune. 800+ hp. Maybe you get a chance to keep the e90 1000hp. But everyone has a budget.
That steering wheel is from an LCI model, the pre-LCI M-sport steering wheel was a different shape than the one that's in the car.
I agree with you. There are some people shouldn’t own a BMW. I also love how some other people call them self a BMW expert and enthusiast, but they don’t know there models and are so sure to call people out such as m sport package. 😂🤣 I have 2011 BMW 328i M sport suspension and with M sport package. My BMW also comes with even more features, because the previous owner bought the car from BMW with everything on it, except for Idrive.. Yes.. people it can come with every feature and still not have idrive. So for those call them self BMW people, you should know your stuff, before call others out. And… My BMW never has an engine light on or even suspension problems, because I stay on top of my preventive maintenance. It is not hard to maintain the cars. If you can’t afford it, then don’t buy.. simple as that! Andrian I love how you address people, call them out and prove them wrong. There always will be people that will have hate on everything or try to be such experts. Keep up the great videos! I respect you man and keep addressing these haters and proving these fake experts wrong. I love the E90.. it’s my favorite and love the color of your car.

paddles, sport shifter, as well as transmission oil cooler are an option known as QS2
M sports come with a black headliner, that's the easiest way to tell if u don't vin check a car. Nobody is going to change a headliner for fun. The other bits are easy to change.
The dealer you bought it from probably changed that gasket and stripped that bolt so at the time it did pass inspection until further miles got added which then gave time for the oil/coolant mixture!

Oil filter housing gasket. Same thing happened on my mom's benz. Lml. Had you worried but just a simple fix
It has diverter valve on turbo and sounds like it was replaced with turbosmart dual port bov

I did my oil filter housing gaskets myself on my E90 and that bolt on the back… it’s a NIGHTMARE for a guy with a basic set of tools😂😂

Cracked rim for sure, I had the same issue, my tire holded air for about 2 days, later on I went to the tire shop and they found out that the rim was cracked.
Did you check to see if it has a forge driver valve. It will sound like a blow off valve and also will make a small amount of oil spray in the engine bay

Ya know honestly I love my e92 but I really would love a pure n55. Been on/off about stopping putting money in my 335 and getting a zf8 n55.
it could be the trans cooler thats faulty,the trans fluid is mixing with your coolant,dump your trans fluid asap and check for coolant before the transmission goes bad, 2013 and 2014 have faulty valeo trans coolers.
The blow off valve is on the turbo on n55
