that scene with Helena & Sarah (and talking her down from shooting Rachel) makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME.

They took the original original genome and made modifications to it to make cloning viable (plus whatever else they wanted to experiment with). With the original scientists dead and the original genome destroyed, they have no way of knowing what genes in Cosima and Co have been modified ("looking for hay in a haystack"). So it's hard to work out what might be killing them. It's also hard to make any further clones (the "viability issue").

Hello Kelsea. This ep dropped too early in the morning for me, but I've caught up. Loved the reaction to Helena and Sarah's interaction. As I and others keep saying, it is almost impossible to comprehend that the one actress plays so many diverse and unique rolls. The difference between Helena and Rachael is mind blowing. Tatiana is amazing and I can't wait until you watch season four where she finally gets her overdue EMMY. God, I cried like a baby. Love your work.❤❤

Paul is an enigma wrapped in a mystery dipped in conundrum sauce; you're going to be on quite the ride with him! Just keep in mind that the dude is a spy/black ops, so you won't know his true loyalties for a while, but part of the fun is guessing and not being sure! :D
And yes. Helena with Art and Felix are both great pairings, but there's a character that connects with Helena that I promise you will not see coming and you will LOVE it! Just wait for it.

I can't blame you, it's definitely worth a crash course in the topic if you're in for it, I keep forgetting how dense with information ob episodes are
I literally went to a biotech charter high school I SHOULD KNOW at least some of this stuff! 🤣 But I don't. I was a terrible student though so there's that. I can totally see how watching this would make some people want to study this stuff though! It sounds so cool and fascinating!
Viability issues means the clones all are sick and will die young. Also newer attempts to manipulate evolution have also been failing (I think that is a later episode). They explain the sterility issue later as well. But in biological terms viability means either not developing properly or having issues post birth that reduce life span.

it's power play. happens all the time to women. that's y this is such a controversial scene. some people were like hell yeah and some are like wtf!
Poor Paul, first raped by Sarah, multiple times, than sexually harassed (at best) by Rachael. Being a hired goon shouldn't have this hostile work environment.
