    This is one of my favorite episodes. Rachel is such a complex and interesting character, I love how well written her arc is. Because it's not like she's suddenly changed, she's still horrible and far from complete redemption, but we can understand her and empathize with her more and even support her.
    Regarding Alison, I really don't understand why so much criticism towards her 😕 Sure she did questionable things but not that terrible, even more compared to other characters. It doesn't seem so terrible to me that she took time for herself, one is a human being before being a mother and it's not bad to take care of yourself first to be able to take care of others later, and it's not like the children were left alone either.

      Ya Rachel is a fantastic and very well written character!! This was such a good Rachel episode.
      As far as Alison goes, it's one thing to need time to yourself, it's another to send your kids to your admittedly emotionally abusive mother so you can continue to act like a selfish child and decide to go eat pray love while everyone you love and care about is fighting for their lives. We'll just have to agree to disagree on her. 🤣

    In 2008, researchers successfully created the first five mature human embryos using somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) where the nucleus of a somatic cell was taken from a donor and transplanted into a vacant host egg cell. The embryos were only allowed to develop to the blastocyst stage, at which point they were studied and then destroyed.
    So we know we can do it - we're just not entirely sure if it's completely safe. Nor is public opinion on board. But as technology advances, laws could change to support it. As of right now, human cloning is banned by the UN.

      I read that a Chinese scientist has actually cloned a human and won't acknowledge or deny the claim. With little-to-no rules in China, who knows what's happening. It is scary stuff. Imagine selecting a healthy, compliant worker, who can go like hell at his / her job, like a robot, and clone thousands of them. Mess with their headspace (like Helena) and the robot is complete. This is the stuff of a Brave New World.
      And as Kelsea says, it is becoming obvious that shit is going down.
      I believe the rich and privileged few have an agenda, that to control the masses through the denial of essentials, energy being the main driver. This "cost" effects inflation, food and living standards. Yep, it's beginning to get serious. I fear the great reset is coming.

      @@KelseasComments Sorry if I'm boring you with this. A Brave New World was on my VCE (your higher school certificate?) curriculum. The book was written in 1931 by Aldous Huxley. (Does that name sound familiar... yep, Aldous Leekie, ex head of DIAD) Here is an excerpt from Wiki. "Brave New World is a dystopian novel by English author Aldous Huxley. It is largely set in a futuristic World State, whose citizens are environmentally engineered into an intelligence-based social hierarchy. The novel anticipates huge scientific advancements in reproductive technology, sleep-learning, psychological manipulation and classical conditioning that are combined to make a dystopian society which is challenged by the story's protagonist."

But I agree as people said she has done too much evil for one good deed to wipe it out, HOWEVER I want her just as safe and away from it as the rest and I root for Rachel in that way, she’s never had anyone except corporation, I would love for her to eventually find proper family/sestras

    Hey Kelsea. How's the camping? Hope the kids are enjoying themselves.
    So, here goes my attempt to defend Alison. Wish me luck. :)
    Further to my comments on Patreon, Alison, like her sestra's, is a victim of nurture. As mentioned, her mom is a piece of work and has subjected her only daughter to a lifetime of harm. Throughout the show we have criticized Alison's actions and antics, so why deny her this change. Okay, that "change" might be new-wave and weird, but at least she seems to have found peace. Give her time to prove to us that she is trying to be a better person. I mean, of all the monsters in this show, Alison's letting Ainsley's face get minced by the garbage Insinkerator is possibly the cherry atop the fruitcake.
    But the real hero here is Donny, who has always worshiped the ground his wife walks on, and his commitment and unwavering devotion must be applauded. Donny is the man of men.
    Not long ago we criticized Sarah for her failures, and yet Sarah had the best mom (parents) of any of our sisters, and yet S was a renown radical extremist and gun runner. Her mother, as we know, killed Siobhan's husband. This then asks the question, is evil (or stupidity, or malice, or genius) hereditary, or gained from nurture, or do we as individuals map our own path, through learning, mentorship and friends? That's nature. As we grow older, we grow wiser, and our mistakes make us stronger.
    Food for thought.
    Kudos Rachael. You are in danger of becoming a good person. Eye don't think you SAW that eye popping moment coming, even after you were left many clues. This is why I love watching thus show with you. 😂😂
    C u you over on Patreon, where I will cry again, with you.... 😥😥 Sadly, our time is almost over.

    • @KelseasComments
      @KelseasComments  Год назад +1

      I know your stance on defending Alison.. but again, I must ask.. if Alison's mom was so horrible, then why is it ok for Alison to leave her children with her while she goes off trying to find herself? Sorry you don't get to claim your parents were bad enough to blame your bad behavior on and then also send your kids to live with them while you refuse to act like a mother. If her mom is that bad, then her handing her kids over like this is even worse imo.
      I definitely DID NOT see the eye thing coming. 😅🤣🤣🤣 What a crazy moment!!! Rachel is such a fascinating character. I'm really really not ready to be done with these characters. 😭

    • @archcollie5708
      @archcollie5708 Год назад +3

      @@KelseasComments Ah, but put Alison's world in perspective. From our side of the fence, her mom is a monster, but to Alison she is a mother, who raised her well enough, but who instilled some pretty effed up shit. Leaving her kids with her mother is acceptable. She not a homicidal maniac, or a booze head, or in any way a physical danger to her grandchildren. She has money, and influence. But her racial intolerance and class prejudice is alarming. This has resulted in Alison being bossy, and, at times, dangerous in a physical sense. Alison is also intolerant and considers herself above others. Her "finding" herself is a way forward. Decide when the show concludes, and we can discuss again. BTW, what I just watched on Patreon was fantastic!! Well done.

    • @KelseasComments
      @KelseasComments  Год назад +1

      @@archcollie5708 we just see things differently. I think her "finding herself" is more of a continuation of her narcissistic breakdown. It's a new addiction to replace the old one. It's still her running away from growth. It's her hiding from the people who count on her. I don't think anything Alison is doing is productive or healthy. Whether her mom is awful or not.

      Allison found her inner peace and yet she is still being judged? Are we forgetting all the trauma she's been through? Each clone has their own demons and at least Allison sought help for hers. It really sucks that people judge how others choose to handle their issues. At least she's not drinking or pill popping.

    Rachel turned on Westmoreland after she found out about the spying and lack of trust. I personally don't have any positive feels about Rachel. One good deed doesn't make up for all the bad. She has a long way to go, in my book.
