Nice town. In answer to your question: A lot of small businesses will open by appointment only when they are experiencing extremely slow foot traffic into their stores, which has resulted in sluggish sales and diminished profits. They open by appointment in an attempt to keep their businesses viable during such austere times so that loyal patrons will know that they are still in operation.
The Bank resturant was the police department at one time not the actual bank and the place you crossed the street the first time that you called a school is the court house
The building you wasn't sure about at the light was the jail at one time and the town hall was originally first citizens bank before it became the town hall and police department
About the John Craig House in Chesterfield he was a veteran of the american revolution white people do have right to there heritage so should African American also so with that said I like to see Union Soilders Statue next to anything that has to to so with the american revultion war because I think African American Children need to see what REAL WARRIORS and WINNERs look like!!!
Historic buildings there are very nice. Enjoy your Sunday!
You do the same, Kelly. 😀

That makes sense. Thanks for the information. I’m leaning something every day. 🙂

Thanks again, Charles. Sounds like the police department building has had an interesting history.
Nice little place and I got married there back in 1991...
It is a nice place. I liked all the SC towns I visited last week.
Sir the section of town that the buildings are torn down the town caught on fire a few years ago and those buildings were destroyed
Thanks for sharing your local knowledge of the town.👍

I like it when town halls reuse a building instead of constructing a new one and spending more tax dollars than needed.
