This video is PURE GOLD! The perfect combo of info 'n inspo! I love usin' non-traditional fabrics for PIZZAZZ... Doesn't bother me if it's a bit fiddly. When hookin' a GORGEOUS fabric, who cares how long it takes! For me, EXPERIMENTATION is one of the great joys of fabric art. Interesting how your career in costume design helped prep you for your ultimate calling... WooooHOOOO!!! THANX, Deana!!! x

How do you block pieces made with fancier fabrics and yarn blends? (Also for acrylic yarns) ❤️

Really carefully because they will singe. When I hook with novelty yarn I'm often looking for variation in a small area so I'd avoid hooking that area directly. If there's an area that's sketchy to me I, firstly never apply iron directly, and secondly press the back instead of the front (particularly if you're trying to finish off shape rather than look of pile). That said, a lot of synthetic yarns can handle blocking. I will do a video in next couple days in blocking synthetics!

How would you block these fabrics. I'm thinking some may melt?
    xx

Yeah they will definitely melts. I would hook and test them by ironing the back side 1st just to be sure they won't completely melt
