The lady singing with him was an x wife who sadly passed!! They did this song perfectly!
Such “real and raw” talent. It’s a shame the authenticity of this real music has been robbed of us today in 2024.
Great, great song. But, this video, and the interactions of these two make this a fun and loving song to watch, which only elevates the song another 100%. Always gets me going, makes me happy and smile, too.
Great soulful song from a great soulful album and even greater to see Steve perform it in this video!
She was lovely.
Steve winwood is pure genius and yet so humble . Why has man not been knighted ?
Because that would put him on a level with Baldrick and Jimmy Saville?
If someone is an aristocrat of the spirit does not have to be knighted. Eva from Prague
@@linadenoblee9126uk is not czech republic. Different traditions here🙂
@@logicalnetwork1611 Yes, I know it very well.
@@EdMcF1 poor reason
One of the most distinctive voices in rock music and a brilliant live performer.
Wonderful harmonies with his beautiful wife.
An absolute joy to watch.
My favourite Winwood song
There is nothing like the 80's. What a great song!
The greatest decade
@@DianaMoon11428 Seriously yes.
Amen. We need to bring the 80's back! :)
Winwood magic on the keyboards plus that voice
This hit from Steve Winwood was heard on the Miami Vice episode, Trust Fund Pirates, which aired on May 4, 1986. Miami Vice will go down as being one of my favorite all-time shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama. I see not see this episode when it first aired as I was on my P-3 day of Navy basic training. So access to TV & radio were limited.
mkl62 I also loved Miami vice . The equaliser was my favourite
Este temazo se escuchó en estas latitudes allá por 1983. Una época en la que los títulos de las canciones en inglés venían traducidos al español
Interesting synchronicity is, that another composer of Miami Vice is Jan Hammer, Czech musician, son of brilliant jazzmans from Prague and he has a birthday today:-) 17.4.
Happy Easter from Prague, Eva
This is perhaps my favourite Steve Winwood song :-)
His wife was so cute, sad that she's gone
One of my absolute favorite songs from the good years of MTV.
Yes. Back when they played music..24/7....except between 3:30am and 4:00am or so for maintenance time. That Mtv. Yep.
THE most incredible voice ever!!! His music is affecting my life and I am 70… wish I could tell him.
Love this song man the entire Talking Back To The Night record is just perfection. It all has this wistful quality to it where it may not exactly be sad but just makes you wanna cry.
What a great song. I sure miss the '80s.
I remember when this song first came out,I saw the video back in the day on MTV.For those of you that may not know, this was his wife singing with him.She was really cute, and she looked to be a sweet, kind person, she had a kind face. You could tell by the way she looked at him as they sang together that she really loved him very deeply. It's so sad she died. You could tell by looking at her that she was a nice person.John M Guinto
Well said John. My thoughts exactly.
Sorry, I can only one good like. Bon Chance.
Love this video,
Though in the 60s, I wished, that I could be the girl who has, no face, no name, no number🥴
His best. Magical with his wife.
Hi, did you know his wife nicole ?
She is so pretty. He looks like he is so crazy about her.And she him.The way it should be.
@WheelsAlwaysTurning she actually died from a rare disease called Behcet’s. Very painful illness.
I always really enjoyed watching this video back in the day and still do - just to watch these two sing together . Simple duet ; just think its beautiful . Great chemistry ; great tune
Me too and still enjoy this lovely duet with interesting start: it was racorded 1 day after my 17th birthday - beep🙂Eva
Special song when Steve remix a few songs from this album I wish he did this one. RIP Nicole Winwood.
Here's to never letting go, 'though sometimes it does get lonely
Wow! Never knew they had a video to this great song until now!! Great song from a great and wonderful album!!
Terrific, tremendous and touching, magnificently moving music.

Brings back so many memories.
My favourite Steve Wildwood song. Feels so intimate knowing that this was his wife at the time.
Winwood :)
Had the LP as a teenager, one of my favourite albums then.
Came out in the early 80's while I was still in college. Featured by MTV.
Still the Greatest in the game
Miami vice forever... Greath quality
All me live to learning the biggest musicist of this year also togheter at you 😍😍😷
My little brother and I used to sing a long to this song. Gosh! Miss those days!
yes, if your ready
I am like his biggest fan, like my kids, he can do no wrong and everything he does is right
Still listening today like i did 39 years ago.
This is actually from early 1982.
I love Nicole
from Japan
1982
Head and shoulders better than any of the shit they produce today. Back when music wasn't just morons talking over "sampled" (stolen/plagiarized) riffs.
I love this video…….
Though I have to admit, during the 60s, I dreamed of being the girl, with no face, no name and no number. 🥴
Love this duet with special begining with the date - one day after my birthday - it s ike an enigma, LOVEva
Famous
She misses her cue for the double chorus at 3:14 and laughs ;)
Haha, I never noticed until you mentooned. 👍😀
Mentioned
His first wife Nicole Weir. RIP
Adorable. I love this video and song.
Great catch. Adorable moment
Dang..video was recorded 40 years ago this month...

Why is this song not for sale on iTunes?
Doesn't he look good?
He was, is and will always be gorgeous!
Why is this song not available on iTunes?
It is, but only the disappointing album version, which has a long extro but where the amazing chorus only repeats once after the second verse. The radio "edit" is better because the chorus repeat is much more satisfying. Great video too!
Miami Vice
Does anyone know who the artist was that was singing with him? Hard to find a listing for her.
It’s his wife, Nicole
What's that you call in the beginning of the music video that had high-pitched beeps?
A film leader.
KodytheRedFox annoying
It's how the grunt in the TV station knew when to push play so video tapes wouldn't overlap. (note the "fade" indicator).
Analog baby!
Everytime I see Stevie in the 80's I can't stop laughing
Haven't heard this in ages. Who is the duet with?
Nicole Winwood - Steve's first wife.
HIS WIFE
His wife that died
J Boehner Nicole Winwood died of a rare blood disease in 2005. She was 53. She was married to Steve from 1978 to 1986. They had no children. He has four children with his American wife, Eugenia, a native of Tennessee. He married her in 1987.
Who is the woman singing?
His now exwife Nicole.
His late wife, Nicole.
Stefe's missus copped it?
My favorite winwood song
By a county mile.
Mine too! “Valerie”, Higher Love”, While You See A Chance” get the most airplay, but “Still In The Game” is the best
My favorite Steve Winwood song is "How Can I Be Sure?" by The Rascals. Lol
Never care for this one. Or the video. Sorry but it got old quick.
