  • Whats the Secret behind the likes of ADHD celebrities like David Goggins, Simone Biles, Richard Branson, Michael Phelps and Michael Jordan, being able to achieve the pinicales of success in their respective fields?
In this video I let you in on their secret, my personal experience implementing this secret and how you can use this information to pursue your own dreams.
Dopamine is the neurotransmitter in our brain that people with ADHD have less of, than the average person. This is why we have difficulties with our attention, motivation and lots of other things. Lucky for us, there is a way we can use this dopamine deficiency to our advantage by starting to get our dopamine from more healthy, sustainable places, instead of resorting to bindge-eating and being social media addicted. This can then make us a lot more successful and happy in the long-term.

Anyone else obsessed with the process of learning a system and coming up with plans, and then just not following through? Like, I've learned a ton hyperfocusing this way, but I fail to implement it into my own life. It's insane, I keep beating my head against the wall with plans and outlines and such.

    • @SmarkySmarkz
      @SmarkySmarkz 9 месяцев назад +7

I think the problem is, when I think what interests me and puts me in hyperfocus mode, it's this, but this is also what I am trying to get out of, because either I am unfocused or hyperfocused on thoughts, plans and ideas.

Normally, if you make a good plan, AKA that matches a goal, to a set of behaviors, then you should experience a rush of dopamine, because a plan just increases the likelihood that you will reach your goals if you do those actions.
If you do not feel compelled to act, then may be your plan wasn't good. Aka: Do you feel like if you do the actions step by step, you will actually succeed to the goal, or do you just feel overwhelmed?

My problem is, I want to do 80 different things... and shortly after, I see too many cons in them, and then I don't want to any longer.. next day, completely different long term goal, repeat the process.. endless loop, its been 2 years now. I need help, something is wrong with my brain.. then I find this channel :) Hope!

Why are people surprised? There is nothing more obvious than goggins is one of us😄 yes we get easily distracted but we have a lot of advantage to reach goals regular people won‘t. We can get very enthusiastic, don‘t fear to try new things, used to stand up and try again, widely interested, great at connecting things, hyper focus, very determined if we see a sense in it, fast and out of the box thinkers, etc. therefore all innovators have/had adhd. With innovators i don‘t mean only people like steve jobs, elon musk, etc. but also people like MJ who wasn‘t just one of the greatest basketball players but totally disrupted his industry.

It's really interesting to watch this video three years on from when you made it. I note that you've clearly changed your mindset about the "eat that frog" advice as here you're saying to do it because you have the energy, whereas one of your most recent videos you suggest avoiding that process and go for smaller, easier tasks which are quick wins to get the dopamine going in the brain.
I think you're completely right with your newer advice and the older advice is less correct. It was just funny to see this after your most recent video. Great to watch though and I appreciate seeing how you've grown and evolved over the last three years, as well as how you've matured as a person. You're definitely more confident in yourself now when compared to this video, and I feel you've definitely found your forte in life with this content.

The author literally lists the things that most people with ADHD have big problems with. When we set ourselves even the most specific and simple goals with deadlines, we almost always pull to the last, when we have almost no time left, and then we do everything super-fast under stress, hating ourselves for having to endure another hellish load due to procrastination. Or this is "eat the frog first." People with ADHD, is this really the first time you've heard about this? Have you really never tried to use it? Who had a positive result after such experiments? And who has another disappointment, frustration and feeling worthless? Many of us have already tried 100,500 times to use ALL the tips from this video. And we didn't get anything good from it, except bad, namely failure, demotivation, despondency and new proof that nothing helps us, and all attempts to fix something turn out to be a waste of energy.

There's no way my ADHD ass could ever retain anything from this video without making notes, thought I'd share them with you:
    1. Realizing that even though self discipline is very hard for us, it can be done
    2. Sketch out long term plans that contain achievable short term goals
(e.g. if you want to make 100K dollars you could start out with saving a specific amount of money every week or month-- achieving these small goals releases dopamine in your brain and keeps you motivated)
    3. "Eat the frog": complete the thing you are dreading to do most right at the beginning of your day
    4. Switch up your goal achieving activities (like switching up your workout routine etc)
    5. Identify the "Why" behind your long term goals. It needs to be something that inherently interests us. If you don't know what interests you, try to identify what topics you tend to hyperfocus most on
    6. Take deserved rest days and credit yourself for your work
@ADHD Vision: thanks for the content man. Subscribed.

Is ADHD a lack of discipline ? Isnt ADHD just based ones neuroticism? We dont feel like doing something , get distracted, however it presents on the moment, but its thay very voice that doesnt permit us to follow through, so that tells me its all based around feelings, resulting in being an un disciplined person. Discipline is doing the very thint we dont want to do, which Goggins lives out everyday. Whats everyones thoughts on this?

I don't understand this "we are the people who can't stick to long-term goals" thing. Having to use tools to help you stick with something is not the same as not being able to stick at all. In my experience (and I'm 69), if you love the activity/skill/work you can stick with it for decades -- and the only reason I'm still not doing certain things is entirely because they required a level of physical ability I no longer have (due to having been run over by a car that jumped a curb and got me as I walked down the sidewalk) NOT because I don't have the desire. The desire just kills me sometimes, because I want to do the thing so bad, but just can't physically do it anymore. ALSO, having discipline does not mean doing things the way you are 'supposed to' or defining your goal according to a particular approved "career path." Just because it worked for someone else (not you) doesn't mean it's the way you should do it.

I am so fucking tired of people praising Goggins and holding him up as some kind of role model. He just hates himself enough that he gets off on torturing himself. There's nothing inspiring about that. But all the "motivational" bros drag him on their podcasts, and all us "losers" are told that we have to be just like him if we want to be worth anything as a human being. It's sickening and it's sadistic. And I will NEVER believe that he is neurdivergent. He has to be lying for the attention.

ADHD is mental and spiritual problem which can be solved by the help of God. Some say it can be blessing or curse. What to do? Read the Bible everyday. Pray in the morning, during day, before bed. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Through Christ we have spiritual connection with God. Christ Jesus is our mediator. He will help you so that your ADHD becomes a blessing for you and people around you. God bless you! Glory to God!
