Police Station:
2:20 Bypassing the death trigger. Saves 60 seconds, loses 30 seconds in Post Office.
The snipers are super-powered, they will kill you in three shots even on A Walk in the Park, but for some reason there is a mechanic where you can shoot at them to temporarily pin them down. You can now walk into their LOS and they won't shoot you even after they stand up again. Only, this is not useful since there is actually a death trigger across the whole street. However, you can jump onto the fence here and pass the trigger.
In Post Office the scripted trigger that opens the front door leading to the Post Office yard needs you to recruit both Freedom Fighters upstairs, but at that point in Post Office you will only have Charisma level 1. There is no other source of Charisma at this point in the game, so you have to blow up the gas station anyway when you get here.
The net time saved is around 30 seconds.
Fire Station:
6:40 Jumping over the railing onto the second floor. Saves 8 seconds.
There is another skip here instead of that one. You can jump directly onto the roof from the barracks outside, but it's not trivial. There is an invisible wall in the way, which you can't clip even slightly or you won't make the jump, but if you jump too wide you won't have enough distance, and it's hard to get a precise setup since you keep sliding off the railing where you need to jump from. Also, you are getting shot at which can obscure your vision. Thankfully the other skip is nearly on par with it so I go for that one instead.
Power Plant:
12:47 Jumping onto the invisible wall of the barbed fence and over the wall. Saves 20 seconds.
Naval Base:
14:10 Killing Tatarin with a Molotov through the wall. Saves 2 seconds compared to the balcony route.
TV Station:
17:17 Jumping past the broken staircases. Saves 35 seconds.
A new setup here. It's still precise but slightly more consistent, and faster.
Boat Landing:
With the Fort Jay skip you can just go straight to the closest manhole here. Saves 45 seconds.
Fort Jay:
20:14 Climbing out of bounds, going straight to the first flag. Saves 20 seconds.
This enables the big sequence break here. Since you can bypass the locked front gate you can go straight from Boat Landing to Fort Jay and beat the game. Skips all of Munitions Depot, Docks and Artillery. Saves 2 minutes.
20:54 Climbing onto the wall, passing the locked gate leading to the rest of the flags. Saves 30 seconds.
That leaves another new skip in Docks unused which skips most of the level (40 seconds).
In Naval Base / Boat Landing, at those fences that run perpendicular to the quay, you can fall off and then quickly grab the ledge on the other side. Very precise but can be done consistently. In Naval Base it's on par with the current route. With the old route in Boat Landing (where you need the flag), it would have been useful to bypass the northernmost fence like this, but in that case there is actually an invisible wall in the way.
In High School you can get to the flag directly from outside, but it's a few seconds slower than using the broken staircase.
Location order compared to the old route:
Movie Theater before Power Station, to get rid of the chopper.
TV Station before High School.

I grew up with this game. Played thousands of hours after school. I miss it deeply. Seeing though EA owns the rights, I wonder if they ever think about coming back to this beautiful gem and making something from its compelling story line

Loved that game, glad I found a speedrun utterly destroying it. Is it sad that I keep thinking old games were better? Nowadays most games just flat out suck. I wish it was just nostalgia, but I have been replaying most of my favorite old games and apart from graphics they beat everything that's been coming out in the last 8 years
Agreed bro. For me its a mixture of nostalgia and the game actually being better. This and TES Oblivion are my favorite games.

This game was my childhood
Not only did the aiming feel smooth as butter, but this game had the best character development concept. He gets cooler and older the further you get in the game. This game will forever be one of my all time favorites.

7:13 I'm surprised by the amount of on-screen agents the game is able to support behaving independently and moving around on their own, sure the AI itself is pretty dumb but for the time it's pretty impressive what they were able to achieve.

Never knew this was a Mario game in a cold war setting.
I remember playing this game and I ended up doing a "No help" run, where I didn't recruit anyone and cleared the stages personally.
Always got the sniper rifle right near the start, at the gas station thing you blow up.
I used to try to beat level without letting anyone on my team die
Managed to finish the game on the hardest difficulty by doing a no help run, took me quite a while on some stages, but I can recall the Governor Island levels being notably cruel around some areas, took me quite a while to finish it because of having to repeat at certain points (those bloody SMG and shotgun Soviets are a fucking nightmare on hardest difficulty, they actually pack a punch)
I remember having this game for game cube & PS2 one of my favorite games man

Daaamn, grats on the WR! Nice skips you have found here. I think your way to kill Tatarin is great as it seems to be pretty consistent compared to the windowstill climbing which wasn't that great to do. I can only imagine there is more to skip and I will have to try beat this one day. ;)

I beat this game probably 5 times in my lifetime... Yeah, I was addicted to Freedom Fighters. But, damn... 21:47 beat time.

@@spacemonkey9000 One thing I hated was that the multiplayer didn’t have bots, it would have added so much replay ability to it. I loved the multiplayer but could only play it so many times with friends that wanted to join.
@@roastinNAVY they needed a co-op mode as well. Next year I'm getting a PC and am gonna start building games. I got an open world ww1or2 game where you start as one and recruit farmers etc, build bases, form alliances, in a living evolving world. Freedom fighters mixed with bannerlord. Gonna be sick.

What do you mean? I think I use Molotovs twice; to kill Tatarin, and to stun a group of enemies in Fort Jay (one is short on Medkits in that mission).
@@OverlordJoppe I meant in the start , in the first and second mission you kept throwing molotov at yourself and other characters specially when they are in dialogue
