I'm a brand new tech...iv been with ADT for about 4 weeks now and I'm scheduled to go live next week to start my own jobs...you're a life saver dude. Def gonna use this video on my first couple jobs.
@@Jaydem2805 that's awesome yea I'm done working outside in winter lol used ti climb cell towers then got into solar fields last winter was enough for me to not want to do it again
i woulda just replaced the keypad and kept it inside the panel for programming and got a Honeywell 6290W. vista 20p(safewatch3k) is a very good system.
@@averygarza4196 he put in the ugly adt command panel. the non touch screen. keeping the vista 20 and adding a 6290 screen would have a newer look and wouldnt have to reinstall existing sensors. the best way he could have done this was to add the adt command touch screen. convert existing wired zones to wireless at the panel with a honeywell 5800c2 and add minimal wireless sensors.
Start to finish? Is there a 2nd part to this? You didn't show installing the censors on the windows! How is this "Start to Finish"? And how long does a system last? I heard ADT discontinues a system when a new one comes out and you pay/install all over again after a year or 2.
We vary rarely will discontinue an alarm system completely. For instance, we still (on rare occasions) install SafeWatch Pro’s. We have discontinued the TSSC Panels, but you are not required to replace it unless the panel is broken or something. But yes. If you want a new system - just like if you want a new phone or computer - you have to pay for it.
Hey man, would you recommend working for ADT? How is the work flow. I’m scheduled to start in a couple weeks but I want to be sure I want to do this before I fully commit.
ADT does now install those, but it use to be Defender/Protect Your Home. We (ADT) are mostly installing and these panels to replace old Brinks/TSSC panels. Also since Defenders was bought out by the time this video was uploaded I’d bet he works for ADT now.
It’s sad to see perfectly good equipment get removed. It sucks that many people get brainwashed into thinking wireless is better then wired. It’s simply not.
Why doesn't the customer have access to this? Tech support is a joke and waiting 3 days with no system useable to disable a malfunctioning sensor or siren that can not be bypassed is just stupid??
Yes I waited almost one week because the one technician in my area was sick but he did replace my battery and said the tech that did my installation had my sensors at window at the wrong numbers he was great but that cost me $50 bucks and two weeks later the same thing beeping and alarm going off by itself I would have to pay for upgrade 6 yr customer at $56 bucks monthly

I start training with an ADT dealer next week. This is gonna be useful.
I bought an ADT command 7” unit with sensor. How to I program my sensor and alarms and motion? Do I need a third party install program?
Who makes the newer system you installed. I know that the old one was an honeywell/ademco vista rebranded by adt.

then looking at the video again. it looks like the vista 20p didnt even have wired zones which makes this whole install super redundant.
@@sylence4u you know I was thinking the same thing 😂
Adt doesn't want the old sw3000's kept in. they want this proprietary BS in so customers don't have options of going with another company
Bro I have my first install tomorrow. 3 outdoor / Panel / motions / doorbell / sensors
Thank you very helpful
With those 2x16 panels, is the red panic like always on? Our info doesn’t say and I’ve been told various things.
