ADT is a total RIP OFF! Do some research online and there are MANY systems out there that do the same job for WAY less a month! Everyone is different and prefers different things but, in today's world there are a TON of OTHER options out there for MUCH less money a month that offer the same or better features! A 5second faster response time does NOT warrant the outrageous prices they charge! PLUS, with some systems you have to schedule a person to come out and ADD components to your system at of course additional fees (ADT)! Think about it? If the police take over 5mins to respond in your area why should you pay double or more that other systems offer the same thing for WAY less to do the same thing? Hey! If you just want to throw money away so you don't have to use your brain than I guess that's good for you! ADT is horrible. I had ADT or about 6 years. About 2 years into my ADT system I changed my cable provider. A few years later I went to cancel my ADT as there are so many cheaper options. This is the horrible part. I found out that my cable company was not compatible wit ADT. So when I changed my cable company, It rendered my ADT useless. I did not know this and they did not tell me either. I was told this when I was canceling my service. For 4 years I paid $45 a month for no service. They refused to reimburse me for the time and money lost. My lawyer is now involved. Stay away from ADT.
You are telling me you are very irresponsible. Bro handle you're money how on earth did you let some much time go by with out noticing a thing? Really?
You just highlighted the problem. The only way I could know that the service was interrupted is by either ADT alerting me, or by having an emergency that was not responded to. That is the only way the customer can tell. ADT knew immediately and did nothing other than cash my checks.

@@cdphotography2 they love to tell you what not to use but not what to use lol. I just got ADT today. I’ll update you when they come out to hook everything up tomorrow.
ADT is fantastic-at charging you for service they don’t provide for you. My business went months with no communication between ADT and our management. By that I mean alarms would go off and managers would get the notifications thru pulse, but ADT monitoring had no clue an alarm had even sounded. When we ask them why they didn’t know what was happening with our system they sent techs out. This happened multiple times disrupting our workdays and they never fixed the problem. So we were charged for relatively expensive monitoring that they didn’t even provide for us. Good riddance. There are way better, and way cheaper options available. Beware ADT.
I’m an ADT user for years. What I learned early on is I AM responsible for testing my system MONTHLY. If I have a storm in my area, if my internet provider is down, ADT MAY get a notice that I am experiencing a failure to communicate. ( I had FC on my keypad) this could happen if my battery is low as well, (BAT will be on keypad). Every contract I’ve signed states this. So while ADT had “no clue”, it’s my responsibility to test my system monthly by call ADT and sending test signal to them. It’s inconvenient but it guarantees me my keypad and windows, doors, smoke, carbon detectors are working to notify my family of issues). Who would not do this monthly? And sign up for the phone app to notify you. It tells you if the sensors are offline you. Storms, extreme heat cause this as well --says the ADT customer who’s been one for decades.
WORSE yet ADT could not even tell me what sensor tripped the alarm that was going off! Are you f$%king kidding me?? At that time (several years ago) I was paying $45 a month with 5year old equipment! Needless to say when my bend-you-over contract was up I DUMPED them like a bad CRACK habit! With ALL the other options out there I can't BELIVE anyone would want this setup at the PRICES they charge for what LITTLE service you actually get!!!
Great vids. I love your review vids. That is the problem why we didnt get ADT. We bought a new home and looking for a security system. but ADT was so old fashion. The car salesman attitude is a no for me and my mom. Tell me how much for the equipment, not saying you get 1800 in stuff. And that 3 year contract. Pay the 99 upfront person will come tell you what you need at no obligation. Yeah sure...he will probally say your areas has been hit be buglers recently. I think this is why DYI is becoming more popular. People want to know how much and for what. They dont want to feel pressured by car salesman
Gl with DIY and no and your 1 year warrenty and paying everything up front or taking out a loan to do so. I do not have guns do DIY no work for these type people.

I would rate Simplisafe 2nd BUT, when you start adding cameras the monthly price goes up and offers no better protection/response times. The bottom line is what you get per month. ADT is just out in left field and the additional camera storage fees other companies charge is just not worth paying $30+ a month vs. me at less than $10 cuz I payed $100 up front for the year with NO CONTRACTS limitless cameras (I only have 5) and cellular backup which is an absolute MUST for ANY security system! I will say Ring cameras are expensive but considering what they do to me it's worth the upfront costs for peace-of-mind. Is Ring perfect? No it's not but neither is any other system in this market. For me I REFUSE to pay over $660 (Or more) dollars a year for the same service (if not better) for $100 a year!
@@johnszatkowski6898 wish I would have stayed with ring. I had 4 ADT cameras installed in March and they haven’t worked properly since. Should have just gotten the monitoring 🥲
Great video explaining ADT. I'm moving to a new home and think I will stay with Vivint
Vivint ripped me off and I had a 5-yr contract that they didn't tell me about. I'm gonna stick with ADT...
@@malays4027 lol you wanna lease equipment then , or maybe you want technicians to look inside your cameras look it up on google right now

Yes, because ADT is 🗑. The security cameras I have don’t work properly.
@@malays4027 ADT was sues in 2018. Look up all the issues the cameras have. They can easily be blocked along with other systems. All you have to do to block an ADT camera from catching you on camera is to shine a very bright LED flashlight into it.
It’s better to find a small licensed and insured alarm dealer that will give you a better system and be STRAIT UP with costs! You will never get the advertised price. ADT is not the best!
Hi Fred R! We have contact information in our About tab here on RUclips. Shoot us an email and we can arrange something!
Great 😊
How to join the company for job ?
I actually work for ADT & I can confidently say that 80% of the information in this video is false.
It’s a very accurate review
But most of us in the the 'real world' live on a budget and do not want to needlessly spend money that you don't need to!
@@johnszatkowski6898
What systems out there do the exact same job and possibly offer better features according to you? I really hope you don’t come back and respond with any DIY systems either lol
Of course everyone has a budget to live with but if someone doesn’t think they can afford on average $45 a month to protect their home & family when typically everyone pays more for their wifi, cable, streaming subscriptions, etc then there’s something else that’s the actual issue & it’s not the monitoring rate being “expensive.” People tend to just make other things a priority instead of using their money the smart way. Just because a company puts the word “security” on their brand name, doesn’t make them the same as any other system. I will commend them though, smart way to make money off of a lot of people
@@asapmau
Well your site rated Wyze alarm so great and it does not even offer cellular backup! Do you really think a professionally installed system preforms better than DIY? Really? You are living in the 80's. It was obvious your site never really used Ring or other systems long-term and just go off each systems website features. You are going to recommend ADT with their prices? You have to be kidding me! They are crap! As I stated - DO YOUR HOMEWORK! ADT could not even tell me which zone triggered the system (That's helpful in case you hadn't noticed) and charge ungodly rates per month! Did you ever use ADT or other systems? Based on reviews I can say NOT! Did you ever mention with ADT professionally installed systems they charge over $100 to install a sensor? (after making an appointment) Or break a contract with them and what they try to charge you? Have you even done this or been in this situation? I think not! I guess if you have money falling out of you a$$ or are just incoherent then I guess ADT would be for you to do nothing and pay through the nose! Many people don't want to put out to have to actually think to do anything for themselves and just pay whatever! STOP!
@@johnszatkowski6898 My site? What site are you even talking about?? & Yes a professional monitored system does perform better than a DIY system. YOU should do your homework bc you obviously haven’t. A DIY system will go down as soon as you lose power or wifi. A DIY system is easily hacked... *COUGH* Ring *COUGH* .... How are you going to tell me I haven’t used an ADT system when I have one in my own house?? & I’ll gladly tell you ADT does NOT charge $100 to install a sensor, now you’re just pulling stuff out of your a$$. I think you’re actually the one who hasn’t ever used an ADT system bc anytime my equipment breaks or stops working, I pay a service fee of $30 and get my equipment replaced with new pieces. Go ahead and go do some real homework and then maybe come back and try to speak some facts about how systems function. Clearly a brain full of nothing but air thinking a DIY is reliable and a smart choice😂😂
A coworker of mine worked for ADT since the 80s all the way up to 2010... The company was sold to an overseas buyer and basically screwed him as well as others on their retirement. Employees hired lawyers, but to no avail... My partner as well as other long-time employees of ADT had to literally work for the rest of their lives because they had NO retiremwnt... This company sucks.
wow that’s so messed up….
Thank you for this video! I got ADT installed today. To be 100% honest in terms of security, I rank it 2/10. I would switch to another company however, I do not know of any other companies that will monitor or call fire/police when I am not home. Also, the DIY is not very reliable.

Really? Look into Ring or the other replies to your post! Ring and I'm sure these other systems will call fire/police also! Spend about 2hrs of your time and do some research on OTHER alternatives and save yourself some CASH! Since you signed up with ADT for 2yrs minimum GOOD luck trying to break that contract without paying LARGE fees!
I have worked for the company. All I want to say is dont do it. you will regret it.
I live in the UK where we are not allowed guns, I was told that we get a free baseball bat with every purchase. Is that true?
Very expensive ADT
Had a alarm fitted from a local company my phone called me if I am away from the home NO contract no service plan saving £££
Or maybe inform yourself better
You are telling me you are very irresponsible. Bro handle you're money how on earth did you let some much time go by with out noticing a thing? Really?
You just highlighted the problem. The only way I could know that the service was interrupted is by either ADT alerting me, or by having an emergency that was not responded to. That is the only way the customer can tell. ADT knew immediately and did nothing other than cash my checks.
@@rodriguezjohnnyj I feel you cause it would suck to happen to anyone anyway.
I used to work for ATT and DTV and I was required to tell you if you cut your phone lines you cut your security system during that time

@@jamesbroome151 how did it go?
Music in the background is horrible
I know I asked for all the bells and whistles so I figured I would get a higher monthly bill, monthly.$63, upfront $2,000!!
There you go! There are OTHER alternatives out there that do the same thing for less MONEY a month! Do your own research and decide which is right for YOU! I'm not here to tell you which system is 'right' for you and your needs. Everyone is different!

I’m in a security industry and I highly recommend you stay from a DIY system. The reason is because it’s wireless and you have no back up battery system. When you’re not connected directly to the hardwiring of the house with an SEM module, All the burglar has to do is cut your power and it turns off the alarm system. Or they can just break into the house and rip your panel off the wall. What if you have to evacuate because of a hurricane or tornado? Your house is going to be completely insecure because you don’t have any power. DIY systems are not secure! Stay away from them!
Hi Matt V! That's not entirely true. Nowadays many of these DIY systems have backup batteries that last up to 24 hours. But there are definitely pros and cons to DIY systems in general. Thanks for sharing!
