Lionheart I must admit watching you over the years your use of Cavalry has improved, it's great to see you not waste them needlessly. Again you used them correctly for the most part today. However allow me to remind you that Napoleon: Total War uses calvary differently than other ones. Light cav = shock offense, always use 2 in tandem and ignore the main lines, snip cannons generals and single infantry units. Heavy cav = defensive counter cav, mobile support (especially for skirmishers) Lancers are not heavy cav. nor are they truly light cav. Simply put they charge only cav. meaning it doesn't matter what their fighting, they have to charge and break off. if they get stuck in their dead. This also means they are wonderful at shattering and shredding units with flank and rear charges. In summary Lancers stationary in a fight are dead. Lastly thank you for a great series I have enjoyed this so so much.

A suggestion for you to keep an eye out for later on is the abilities unites have. The old guard have a trait that makes the enemies moral drop when they get close, I also think the young and middle guard get it as well. These units are extremely good if you can get a few volleys off in a kind of fire and advance (don't use the ability, it sucks), then charge in with them, it will almost immediately break the enemy they push (great for splitting the enemy army). There are also special units you can get by building a supply depot, like swiss infantry and swiss grenadiers, Italian units if you take Innsbruck and Polish units from Warsaw. Also pay attention to units that have Guard (of course) or a pèid in their name, cause they are units from napoleons guard corps or personal units, they usually have pretty good stats and some get cool traits. The way artillery works is the firepower number represents how much shock it creates to the unit it is attacking. Napoleon Darthmod arty will never get you many kills, but it extremely good at demoralising the enemy, however accuracy also plays a role. My suggestion is to use 8 or 12 pounders a lot in the start to get their accuracy up and still have the high firepower, plus the range is great. My favourite is a combination of 12 pounders with 6 pounder horse arty, so 12 pounders can pluck away from a distance and the 6 pounders can rapidly advance to a flanking position covered by cav. Good luck with the campaign and keep an eye on the prussians from land and british from sea ;)
oh and also, don't engage nelsons fleet. I've played three france campaigns with darthmod over the years and I can tell you, that man has insaaaaaane bonus's. Unless you build as big a fleet as you can with 122 gun ships of the line 74 gun ships, you'll never break him. His base stats give him something like +5 moral to his units and +6 command at sea, plus speed bonus's. He's already beaten the spanish (probably giving even more bonus's) and my best guess is, from what his fleet looked like after the battle, he captured the spanish 140 gun ship of the line. That thing sucks to fight with all the buffs he gives.
Letter from Gisèle Faure to his wife in Rennes Brittany Mes chers belle épouse, I understand your anger at me over choosing to go to war over staying home. I know we talked long into the nights over this and we agreed that it was final however I know better than to think your heart is still not heavy. However I owe everything I have to our great Emperor, he personally appointed me as Colonel in the Gendarmes impériale to oversee Brittany. The fateful ball where we met was again thanks to him encouraging me to stop working so hard and to come with him to enjoy the wonders of Brittany. That you all know well and true, you also know that being a Colonel in the Gendarmes has grown on me. Investigating crimes, catching criminals, and keeping our lands safe is a drive I have had for all my life. But there is something else I find as a reason for my return to his armies, not the chance to help this Gendarmes d'élite de la Garde impériale into a true fighting force as was waved in front of me. Not the chance to come back as a Capitaine from being just the most senior non-commissioned officer in the army. As I ride out today, currently attached to Napoleon's staff as the head of his security. I realized how much I have missed life in the army, the life of a soldier is the life that I have had for so many years. While I can settle into civilian garb, and a semi-civilian job the thrills of combat and the army have quietly called for me. It is a powerful call, the thrills of scout and skirmishing are something I have enjoyed in the Gendarmes. However there is something it missed, I wish I could put it into words but I can not find the words in French, English, Dutch, or German to explain it. While I am temporarily attached to his staff Napoleon has met with me already that I am to lead a company of the hussar regiment he has drawn up and ordered to reinforce him with all haste. However, with all good plans, they must change and adapt to what is going on around them, a group of lancers came into camp today, and their commander a drunkard whom Napoleon dismissed on the spot. As I was on his staff as a wild card to slot where needed, I now find myself training up a company of lancers who are horribly underprepared and undertrained. Thus they rush to make sure they understand how to do their duties as heavy shock calvary to the best they can. Napoleon has informed me to not get too comfortable, as he knows he can rely on me to get his calvary into the best shape and he wants all his calvary as best they can be. Now with Murat a Marshal commanding his own army, he has elected to have me take up his old role and be the man he can always turn to for a solution with Calvary. While I know this letter is growing long, I wish to summarize the first actions of the campaign. The first warning we had of a Russian army waiting in ambush for us, was when a group of lancers rushed past the main army and were pounced on by that army. They were cut down to the last man, fighting bravely but lancers once they stop moving are as good as doomed. Thus we rushed to avenge them and destroy this Russian army. They sent their attack aggressively at our center, clearly determined to knock our 12lbs out of the fight. However, all they achieved was to be slaughtered by canister shot from 12lbs cannons. That is not to say we had our own way the whole fight, one of our lighter cavalry units attacked the enemy's lancers and paid a bloody price for it. At the end of the day the battle was won, however, it is clear there is still many newer commanders of companies and such. The errors are those of greener officers, and I only hope that they learn fast and prevent such losses in the future. My brother and his company of line infantry are reported to marching in Italy, so if you hear anything about him please let me know. Unit Name suggestions: Infantry- 1st Lions of Verdun 12th Cairo Corps 34th Messina's Maniacs Grenadiers- Norte Dame De Paris Guards Skirmishers- Montreal Muskets, Raynalds Rangers,Barrett's Privateers Cavalry- Ney's Nays Artillery- 54th Légions de la Liberté
I'd humbly request naming a unit of Chasseurs, or other French light infantry, the Cajun Zouaves. Excellent job on the Napoleonic saga so far too by the way.
Have loved the Napoleon revival! Thank you! Unit name suggestion - it would be nice to honour the stalwart resistance of the citizens of the Vendée region, who during the reign of terror and other protracted cycles of violence during the initial French Revolution kept up a protracted counter revolutionary offensive that sucked resources from the military during the period, generally leaning more loyalist to the monarchy. Honouring them with a regiment with particularly high morale would be a nice touch - "Piliers de la Vendée" (stalwarts of the Vendée). As the area is now one of the global centres for round the world sailing races (see Vendée Globe) you could alternatively make this region a naval base hub and name a flagship after them too.
Lionheart a name suggestion for a unit of cav in Napoleon's army "Lion's Sacrifice" and for the old guard in Napoleon's army " The Unbreakable's". Nice start to the campaign Lionheart. Long live the Emperor! 🦅⚔️⚔️🦅
Unit name: Artillery (mobile) - Kongsberg's Gift A wordplay, since both a gift from Norway, to the french revolution, but gift also means married and poison, so poison/harm upon the revolutions foes. Also Kongsberg copper mines and weapon manufactury place.
Name suggestion for the Old Guard: "Les Grognards" - (literally: "The grumblers"). Veterans of Napoleons army had a special privilege: They were allowed to grumble about things in the army and the campaign. "Grognards" became a fabled nickname for the senior veterans in Nappo's armies.
How many guns were in the Grand Battery? We know that Napoleon had supplied 24 reserve guns to the battery , whilst I corps had 4 divisional batteries totalling 24 x 6-pounders and 8 x 5.5 inch howitzers, and a horse battery of 4 x 6 pounders and 2 x 5.5 inch howitzers, giving us a total of 62 guns. Just some interesting Historical Info for ya.
Unit name: Cavalry - Revolusjonens Flamme Thematically enthusiastic norwegian volunteers who has been drawn in by the new ideas and wants to contribute.
Here a name suggestion for a couple units. Also can you try to build every types of unit? Even if fhey are conscript (you just need to recuit one of them), it just really cool seeing so many options and it would be boring if you only uses the same unit. Also also, a dedicated army for each General that fit their style of command would be awesome A infantry (may be grenadire) unit will be called 'The mid-life guard', i think it will be funny A name for a cav unit ' Napoleon's little pony' after My little pony
Economy recommendation: - destroy your ports on the atlantic to north sea coast. These ports will continue to be blockaded by coalition forces. - turn Toulon in a commercial port, expand your commercial ports in east of gibraltar. Build up trading fleet. - keep the french fleet at Gibraltar. I found that the British seem quite incapable of defending their own ports. Having 2/3 sloops on the east coast of England and Wales can really damage the British economy.
Hello Sir Lionheart, Great video can't wait for more French Domination of Europe. I have question at the very bottom to ask.thank you for all your hard work and amazing video you put out the last few years. Unit Name Suggestion Elite Guard Infantry- 501st Charlemagne's Guard Artillery Unit- 12th Belgian Bruisers Cavalry Unit- 22nd Crepe Crusaders 74 gun Ship of the line- Joan of Arc What do you think of the next total war game being Victoria Total war (1836-1900). Having all major events like the industrial Revolution, American Civil War, Trade opening with Japan, Reunification of Italy and Germany and along with all Military and industrial innovation with a new World Market and new ways to trade with other nations major and minor.
Cannon : Lille's guns Cavalerie: Riders of the Saone Troops: The Maries-Louises (real name gave to young conscripts because of their) Les Grognards (the grumpys real name gave by Napoleon himself)
Units name sugestions: Hon Hon Hon Le French Cannon- artillery piece Le Baguette Batallion- Line Infantry Oui Oui Monsieur- Line Infantry Louis IX Guard- Grenadiers Napoleon's Bannerman- Grenadiers Legionnaire du Nord- Regiment étranger Cisalpine Guard- Line Infantry Charlottière- Frigate Legion d'Outremer- Regiment étranger Chevalier du Montserrat- Cavalry Chevaliers Mont Sant Blanc- Cavalry Régiment Saint Louis de France- Line Infantry Francis le Grand Régiment- Artillery (a big one, 24- pounder maybe?)
just a suggestion, the happiness penalty of capturing another major nation's capital is really great like -20 or more, so without the support of gentleman it could mean that one of your major armies will be stuck for more than 10 turns or an insane amount of milita would be required to keep the public order.
Unit Name Suggestions for La Grande Campagne Infantry (Line Infantry/Fusiliers) - Grande Armee de Napoleon 1er Regiment de Fontainebleau (abbreviated 1er Reg. de Fontainebleau) - 1st Regiment of Fontainebleau - Named after Napoleon's imperial residence and palace at Fontainebleau. 2er Regiment d'Orient (2er Reg. d'Orient) - 2nd Regiment of the East/Eastern Regiment - Referencing Napoleon's veteran soldiers from Egypt and the Middle East. 3er Regiment d'Egypte (3er Reg. d'Egypte) - 3rd Regiment of Egypt - comprised of Egyptian soldiers (ex-Mamelukes/Bedouins/Ottomans) which have made their way to Europe to serve their Emperor. 4er Regiment de Bretagne (4er Reg. Bretagne) - 4th Regiment of Brittany - comprised of Breton soldiers conscripted for Napoleon's Army, these soldiers of Gallic ancestry and heritage are apart of the Emperor's Grande Armee. 5er Regiment de Louisiane (5er Reg. Louisiane) - 5th Regiment of Louisiana - these soldiers of the Americas have returned home to France to serve Napoleon's cause. Since in 1803 their lands were bought by the US, these French-speaking colonists are returning home for their new Emperor. Elite Infantry Marins Francaise (French Marines) - Originally on men o' war, these elite veterans of the sea have been trained to fight with European line battle doctrine and originally serve to maintain order and discipline wherever they are stationed. Vielle Garde Imperiale (Imperial Old Guard) - Napoleon's revered elite infantry, veterans of over 15 years of fighting and battles have turned these soldiers into battle-hardened masters of war. These men have seen it all and wore distinctive bearskin hats to show their fearsome status and reputation, giving them an unforgettable presence on the battlefield. Jeune Garde Imperiale (Imperial Young Guard) - These soldiers are elite in their own right, their skills and marksmanship are seldom seen on the fields of Europe as they can rival even the 42nd Regiment of Foot (the infamous 'Black Watch) of the UK. - Artillery Tonerre de Guerre - Thunder of War - 12lber/8lber foot/horse artillery Ultima Ratio Regnum - The Final Argument of Kings - Artillerie a' Pied/Cheval/Grand Battery of the Convention (fun fact this is an inscription found on French cannons ordered by Louis XIV in the 18th Century) Décapant de têtes - Remover of heads - 6lber/8lber/12lber foot/horse artillery Feu purificateur - Cleansing fire - 6lber/8lber/12lber foot/horse artillery General's Staff Names (you can right click the icon of the general's staff after viewing the portrait/traits of the general/admiral of an Army/Fleet and change the unit name) Napoleon - sa Majesté Impériale (his imperial majesty) or le petit caporale (the little corporal) - historical affectionate nickname of Napoleon for his personal attention of the soldiers. Michel Ney - le chevalier maréchal (the marshal knight) - Ney was Napoleon's famed cavalry commander and Marshal of France who served with him at Waterloo. Jean-Andre Massena - (La Grande Marechal ) - One of Napoleon's most successful marshals, Massena's armies and tactical prowess served the Empire well. Pierre-Charles Villeneuve's Flagship - L'Ocean - The Ocean (historically inaccurate to Villeneuve's actual flagship at the time of Trafalgar in Oct. 1805, but Ocean was a French 118 gun heavy 1st rate which was constructed during the French monarchy and was sailed by a different French admiral but would be fitting for the 122 gun ship of the line that is used by Villeneuve in-game) - Ship names for 80-gun, 74-gun, and 38-gun men o'war will be on my top reply.
80/74-gun 3rd Rate ships of the Line Aigle de la Mer - Eagle of the Sea La Gerfaut - The gyrfalcon (reference to Chevalier de la Vérendrye from Assassin's Creed Rogue as his flagship) La Vainqueur de Nelson - The victor of Nelson (once Nelson has been defeated) Sans-Culottes - "No breeches" Reference to the radical peasant movement in France during the Revolution which opposed nobility wearing silken breeches and causing a definitive class divide between rich and poor. Feu des Vagues - Fire from the Waves Vengeur - Avenger Régicide - Regicide Empaleur des rois - Impaler of Kings Intrepide - Intrepid Ships can also be named after great victories on land or at sea (historically done by Napoleon during the period)/ 38 gun frigates L' éclaireur - Pathfinder (reconnaissance ship) Poursuivante - Pursuer (chaser of fleeing ships to be boarded) Bourreau des Caraïbes - Executioner of the Caribbean - privateer or ex-pirate which is now being pressed for service against France's enemies L'Insurgente - The Insurgent - historic French privateer which engaged USS Constellation during the Quasi War (uncommonly taught event in US history) prior to the Napoleonic Wars.
The reason french ships are not "rated" is because the rating system was a British system, the french didn't use it, they just called them by how many guns the ship had.
A good name is yellow vests (gilet jaunes) hahaha, Basically those guys stopped trucks, so u can give that as names for the unit with stacks to stop cav.
Should have done the cheese. Aka, gather as many men under Napoleon, cross the channel and take London. Go from there. Boom. England is knocked out. Though sadly your army will be bogged down by unrest in London.
here is a name suggestion the 1st-blooded unit 12-pounder artillery lore this unit has been with the emperor since the very beginning from day one of the Italian campaign till now
IIRC in Napoleon it's different from Empire: Only British ships are referred to by what "rate" they are, whereas French ships are just X-guns Ship of the Line.
For the grand battery of the convention, it doesn't have an exact caliber in reality as it was never an actual unit, it was basically just taking all the artillery and massing them into one battery, one can assume the battery is 12pdr. as that was the most commonly used cannon, however it can really be any available caliber
I'll put it here, Unit names; Infantry; The Steadfast Tin Soldiers (or as an evolution, replace tin with bronze since it's a key component), The Seine River Gargoyles, Garde Courageux (courageous guard) Artillery; The Grand Baguettes, Napoleon's Iron Balls
Lionheart, you can name one of the Marinier regiments as "Hornblower's Bluejackets". Both a reference to Horatio Hornblower in the books and tv movie series and bluejacket was an old term for regular sailors back in the day like these infantry sailors would of been called. I am also an active duty US Navy sailor so seeing that would be awesome to witness.
Lol, 122 gun Ship of the Line would be beyond a 1st-rate. In fact, the French were the only nation to field ships of this size (that saw action, mind you) - namely the L'Orient that got blown to bits in the Battle of the Nile by Horatio Nelson. A first rate is any Ship of the Line with 95-105 guns, so ~100.
Would love to see you do a United provinces campaign in empire 2 mod! Like the british they have a starting location in all 3 parts of the world and would maby be more of a challenge to do 😁🇳🇱
Hello. I was here for the Prussian campaign and i named a group of Jaegers the Jaeger Bombs. I humbly request for a group of Artillery doesn't matter the poundage to be called Napoleon's Orchestra (might be to many characters)
I know I'm way too late for lionheart's playthrough of this, but I'm just going to throw this out there in case it's true in the game as well, watch out for murat(he was not only a famed cavalry commander but Napoleon made him one of his Marshals, he became the king of Naples and betrayed Napoleon specifically to try and keep his kingdom only to lose it anyway) so I don't know maybe just watch out for that one if you're playing as france
Hello Mr LH, Sir, Excellent consolidation of armies for Napoleon and re group for a push against Austria. Excellent first battle! Depth and Reserve with Cavalry counter. Remember Lancers are to counter Enemy Cavalry, Hussars are to push on routing Infantry and cut Artillery down, eventually with an Infantry follow up. Lancers left in a battle will be ripped apart. They are counter Cavalry only. Please use Militia to Guard all your ports! The English, then the Dannes and Dutch will try to burn everything! The Brittish are your main foe. Without their diplomacy and Pounds Sterling to finance the wars against you there is no war. Punch Vienna in the nose and prepare to invade Britain as soon as possible. Garrison the Rhine. The Prussians and Dutch will turn on you quickly. Defend the main Rhine Bridges and all will be well. For every full Army in advance have a small corps of Militia follow to Garrison your City conquests and this allows your armies to move on. Not every army needs to be elite. A balance of Milita and cheaper Cavalry can produce succes early on especially with venterancy mixed with line infantry. Vive L'Emperor! Vive Napoleon! Love this content and keep it coming. 🍻
Some unit name suggestions are Massena's Swiss Chess, The Pea's on Bread Flingers, The Trampolers of men, Piedmont crushers, The Headlong dashers, Massena's boom sticks, The Sourdough shooters, Blasters of men, The heros that saved the battle, Murat's ball of justice, and The Savors of the Battle.
Unit name suggestion for Grenadiers: L'oignon Based off the title of the Imperial Guard's song for getting ready to charge inspired by Napoleon's love of fried onion
@@barcephus2 oh now i get you sorry i thought you were talking about some new darthmod version or sum haha. bad news about the great war mod i guess you will have to download a previous version of the game to play it. look it up its easy peasy there is a steam site that has all previous versions of games i might do it too since i never tried that mod and i always wanted to
A suggestion for a artillery group in napoleons army. A reference to Napoleons past and start, they neeed to be called "The litel corporals cannoneers" 😊
I wonder if you could enlighten me Lionheartx please, I just started another Napoleon TW and took the whole of Spain leaving them with three and a half full stack armies in Caen which they took, I let this situation last for a good 10 turns but these Spanish armies still had the same amount, does this mean that they don't lose men even though they are not getting any income, if so it means that you can't beat a faction by starving them of income.
I always hated that the cannons target the sides of the formations in ETW and Napoleon. Usually I'd manually target the ground near the center to avoid this. Also the game would sense you targeting the enemy cav or generals etc and they would flee, but when you target beneath them...they'd just stay there and take the fire.
If you end up recruiting from Scotland a few names for you. Jacobite Legion of Honour (any type) Ecosse Horse (cannon fodder otherwise known as cavalry) Edinburgh 1st Foote and Mouth (infantry) The Auld Alliance (any) Keep up the good work and are you naming your ships?
Suggestion, try to raid British ports with that sloop that you used as bait. You should also build all your ports as trade ports and leave a militia unit there so they don't destroy it. At most they would block it but at least you won't have to repair it. Keep an eye on the dutch bc they have a full stack near your and the English might also land on your north side!
Cool gameplay! I'm curious though, usually the default darthmod musket sound usually has a crackling, even thunderous noise when firing in volleys/by rank. Can this feature be toggled on and off?
I haven't watched yet but i'm not wasting any time on this one. I believe this is where you leave suggestions for unit names. So how about a cavalry unit named " tactical steak delivery". See if that will fit.
I had suggested before, but you didn't get 12 pounder artillery. When you do, please name one battery "Big Mack Attack" for me. Cavalry; "More Steak Anyone?" Infantry; "Maginot Line".😉

Yeah, you might have to decide which particular unit the brother is in, so Lionheart can keep it alive.
Tempting but Id rather let what happens happen as I always have@@loganthomas6102

A wordplay, since both a gift from Norway, to the french revolution, but gift also means married and poison, so poison/harm upon the revolutions foes. Also Kongsberg copper mines and weapon manufactury place.
Name suggestion for the Old Guard:
"Les Grognards" - (literally: "The grumblers").

- Revolusjonens Flamme
Thematically enthusiastic norwegian volunteers who has been drawn in by the new ideas and wants to contribute.
Here a name suggestion for a couple units. Also can you try to build every types of unit? Even if fhey are conscript (you just need to recuit one of them), it just really cool seeing so many options and it would be boring if you only uses the same unit.
Also also, a dedicated army for each General that fit their style of command would be awesome
A infantry (may be grenadire) unit will be called 'The mid-life guard', i think it will be funny
A name for a cav unit ' Napoleon's little pony' after My little pony
I like the idea of "The Lazy Lancers" that was just filled with nobility that now have to actually fight, because, you know Napoleon.
Love to see unit of line or fussaliers named "Napoleon's Wall"
For a horse unit:
"One of Your French Horse"
Economy recommendation:
- destroy your ports on the atlantic to north sea coast.
Very Napoleon of you. "Now. Send in the Old Guard."

What do you think of the next total war game being Victoria Total war (1836-1900). Having all major events like the industrial Revolution, American Civil War, Trade opening with Japan, Reunification of Italy and Germany and along with all Military and industrial innovation with a new World Market and new ways to trade with other nations major and minor.

Unit Name Suggestions for La Grande Campagne
Infantry (Line Infantry/Fusiliers) - Grande Armee de Napoleon
1er Regiment de Fontainebleau (abbreviated 1er Reg. de Fontainebleau) - 1st Regiment of Fontainebleau - Named after Napoleon's imperial residence and palace at Fontainebleau.
Elite Infantry
Marins Francaise (French Marines) - Originally on men o' war, these elite veterans of the sea have been trained to fight with European line battle doctrine and originally serve to maintain order and discipline wherever they are stationed.

Artillery
Tonerre de Guerre - Thunder of War - 12lber/8lber foot/horse artillery

Michel Ney - le chevalier maréchal (the marshal knight) - Ney was Napoleon's famed cavalry commander and Marshal of France who served with him at Waterloo.
Jean-Andre Massena - (La Grande Marechal ) - One of Napoleon's most successful marshals, Massena's armies and tactical prowess served the Empire well.
Pierre-Charles Villeneuve's Flagship - L'Ocean - The Ocean (historically inaccurate to Villeneuve's actual flagship at the time of Trafalgar in Oct. 1805, but Ocean was a French 118 gun heavy 1st rate which was constructed during the French monarchy and was sailed by a different French admiral but would be fitting for the 122 gun ship of the line that is used by Villeneuve in-game)

La Vainqueur de Nelson - The victor of Nelson (once Nelson has been defeated)
Sans-Culottes - "No breeches" Reference to the radical peasant movement in France during the Revolution which opposed nobility wearing silken breeches and causing a definitive class divide between rich and poor.
Feu des Vagues - Fire from the Waves
Vengeur - Avenger
Régicide - Regicide
Empaleur des rois - Impaler of Kings
Intrepide - Intrepid
Ships can also be named after great victories on land or at sea (historically done by Napoleon during the period)/
38 gun frigates
L' éclaireur - Pathfinder (reconnaissance ship)
Poursuivante - Pursuer (chaser of fleeing ships to be boarded)
Bourreau des Caraïbes - Executioner of the Caribbean - privateer or ex-pirate which is now being pressed for service against France's enemies
L'Insurgente - The Insurgent - historic French privateer which engaged USS Constellation during the Quasi War (uncommonly taught event in US history) prior to the Napoleonic Wars.
Lionheart war is not fare nothing is fare
The reason french ships are not "rated" is because the rating system was a British system, the french didn't use it, they just called them by how many guns the ship had.
A good name is yellow vests (gilet jaunes) hahaha,
Basically those guys stopped trucks, so u can give that as names for the unit with stacks to stop cav.
Should have done the cheese. Aka, gather as many men under Napoleon, cross the channel and take London. Go from there. Boom. England is knocked out. Though sadly your army will be bogged down by unrest in London.

these graphics look amazing for a 2010 game like holy shit. might actually get this now
Darth mod was amazing especially on shogun 2 aswell.
I'll put it here, Unit names;
Infantry; The Steadfast Tin Soldiers (or as an evolution, replace tin with bronze since it's a key component), The Seine River Gargoyles, Garde Courageux (courageous guard)
Artillery; The Grand Baguettes, Napoleon's Iron Balls
Lionheart, you can name one of the Marinier regiments as "Hornblower's Bluejackets". Both a reference to Horatio Hornblower in the books and tv movie series and bluejacket was an old term for regular sailors back in the day like these infantry sailors would of been called. I am also an active duty US Navy sailor so seeing that would be awesome to witness.
Can we name one "haha frenchies lost again" ?? would be class.
Any unit, Peppy La Pew Pew
Would love to see you do a United provinces campaign in empire 2 mod! Like the british they have a starting location in all 3 parts of the world and would maby be more of a challenge to do 😁🇳🇱
Hello. I was here for the Prussian campaign and i named a group of Jaegers the Jaeger Bombs. I humbly request for a group of Artillery doesn't matter the poundage to be called Napoleon's Orchestra (might be to many characters)
Unit name (any unit type): the phoenix guards (reference to joaquin phoenix)
I know I'm way too late for lionheart's playthrough of this, but I'm just going to throw this out there in case it's true in the game as well, watch out for murat(he was not only a famed cavalry commander but Napoleon made him one of his Marshals, he became the king of Naples and betrayed Napoleon specifically to try and keep his kingdom only to lose it anyway) so I don't know maybe just watch out for that one if you're playing as france
Hello Mr LH, Sir,
Excellent consolidation of armies for Napoleon and re group for a push against Austria.
🍻
Lionheart
I would name a unit of cannon "Episiotomy" as it will rip you a new one
Some unit name suggestions are Massena's Swiss Chess, The Pea's on Bread Flingers, The Trampolers of men, Piedmont crushers, The Headlong dashers, Massena's boom sticks, The Sourdough shooters, Blasters of men, The heros that saved the battle, Murat's ball of justice, and The Savors of the Battle.
Damn I thought Louen Leoncoeur was speaking at the beginning, the voices are the same.
General Davout's Grenadiers name: The Iron Guard
Unit name suggestion for Grenadiers: L'oignon Based off the title of the Imperial Guard's song for getting ready to charge inspired by Napoleon's love of fried onion

Lionheart, remember what Lord St. Vincent said about a French invasion 😊
Name suggestion: French Toast Battery for an Artillery unit
I wonder if you could enlighten me Lionheartx please, I just started another Napoleon TW and took the whole of Spain leaving them with three and a half full stack armies in Caen which they took, I let this situation last for a good 10 turns but these Spanish armies still had the same amount, does this mean that they don't lose men even though they are not getting any income, if so it means that you can't beat a faction by starving them of income.
Chasseurs Bretons Brittany Spears A French Lancer unit ;3 --- La Grande Armée
So I'd love a cannon unit named "Joséphine's Mercy"
Unit name suggestion for the Old Guard: The Vendée Veterans
I always hated that the cannons target the sides of the formations in ETW and Napoleon. Usually I'd manually target the ground near the center to avoid this. Also the game would sense you targeting the enemy cav or generals etc and they would flee, but when you target beneath them...they'd just stay there and take the fire.
Light infantry- Sharpes repellant
If you end up recruiting from Scotland a few names for you.
Jacobite Legion of Honour (any type)
Ecosse Horse (cannon fodder otherwise known as cavalry)
Edinburgh 1st Foote and Mouth (infantry)
The Auld Alliance (any)
Keep up the good work and are you naming your ships?
Suggestion, try to raid British ports with that sloop that you used as bait. You should also build all your ports as trade ports and leave a militia unit there so they don't destroy it. At most they would block it but at least you won't have to repair it. Keep an eye on the dutch bc they have a full stack near your and the English might also land on your north side!
Cool gameplay!
I'm curious though, usually the default darthmod musket sound usually has a crackling, even thunderous noise when firing in volleys/by rank. Can this feature be toggled on and off?
Yep in the mod launcher
I think you should try a portugal darthmod it would be really fun and challenging
Oh here we go!!
Name for a cannon unit- Iron Baguettes.
