I lost a lot of interest when I found out it was a PvP realm.
I'll never understand why servers gimp themselves like this. You can still PvP on a PvE realm, but you can't PvE on a PvP realm.
Especially in expacs where flying has already been introduced.

Yup, i pretty much stopped playing wow after frostmourne on warmane closed. It was perfect. Fast levelling, no wpvp with no life neets ganking patrols... and then it all came crashing down when the server was still popular. Then i was excited for the new project (progressing from vanilla to wotlk) but it was announced on pvp. I don't get it. They already have 2 pvp based server. Why not make that a pve one.
As you said, if someone wants to pvp, they have the venue to do so (bgs and arenas). If you want to wpvp you flag yourself and you can wpvp to your hearts contempt. The only reason for wpvp to exist is to give frustrated irl people a venue to vent their frustrations on people that simply want to enjoy a game. Let alone the fact it'll have a cash shop, so in a matter of 1/2 days you'll have those same neet with full t2 gear camping stv or tanaris, making the server a joke for someone that only has 1/2 hours a day to chill and play one of his fav games.
Honestly, if I had the knowledge and the time to dedicate myself to make a pserver that wasn't pvp, I 200% would make one myself. Sadly I don't have neither.
Probably would be a tbc one to start (vanilla has been overplayed and let's face it, tbc is just vanilla made better) progressing through wrath and probably cata.

As a WoW player i would like 1 server with more population rather than bunch of servers with low population
that is how it usually ends up anyway, ppl find out which the good servers are and go there, leaving the worse ones empty

whitemane was fun, now is dead - not sure how athena regarding cata will perform. despite the expansion being really solid and fun.

If they’d launched earlier in the year, they would have gotten the Whitemane traffic.
It’s going to be an up-hill battle because WM is planning another fresh and their weekend bonuses are too appealing.
It’s funny because I woke up to a WM announcement for their biggest bonus weekend of the year 😂 Wonder why
@@brandonkruse6412 I don't think timing would matter as much, it helps, but eventually ppl would choose the better option anyway, if Twinstar's Athena is better - people will find it and join even now
@@MEYTRIX Perhaps, but I do think timing was a big factor for WM’s success. Despite how bad the core was on launch and the months to follow, they continued to grow because there just hasn’t been a populated place to play Cataclysm in a while.
Athena can learn a lot from WM despite having better scripting, I hope they go hard with Discord events, giveaways and bonus weekends.

this sounds worse than whitemane and whitemane is already dead after less than a year...
really sad, since cata is solid and the server had at least a reasonable playerbase for the first couple of weeks or months, even if not crazy high

Whitemane, and we will see what Twinstar brings with Athena, but Whitemane has already established itself, so it's a safe bet, Twinstar can only pleasently surprise
Well considering only Athena is "new" and Maelstrom has been out for over half a year and still over 50% content is broke as shit.
Whitemane = Typical high pop shit server where almost nothing works and the whole point is to make money with the least effort possible from idiots who say they want quality but in the end will flock to wherever other people are.
Twinstar = Low/medium pop server where things actually function.
Kronos 1 and Nostalrius was the same exact thing.

Twinstar will have to go their own way and attract different kind of ppl, there is no way they could compete in the same area with Whitemane

Twinstar is the worst server i ever played on. I dont even think a second about it when there's something polished like whitemane cata
I wouldn't say it's one of the worst, depends when you played on it - if it was around their fresh Apollo launches, then I understand
stop shilling your own shit server
So "polished" you have to play at high xp rate to get to 58 because not enough quests function to make it then you jump straight to 80 because nothing works in TBC or Wotlk.
Keep deluding yourself.
