Works great at higher speeds! I recently finished a shoot with the new WRX that had the camera car traveling around 50mph & the springs where still not fully compressed in this newest version.
@@EricNelsonYT ok dope, I might have to try this one. I have the wire mod going on from Cullen Flemming but I still get alkt of micro jitters especially at 40+mph
Hey. I thought I would try this. The only screws I could find are threaded the whole way. They seems to grind and grip on the plate as it goes through. Do you have this issue
Just ran into this same issue the hard way. There are so many little details needed to get this working properly. For instance another issue we’ve run into is if the washer is too big, it rubs up against the L bracket up the top.
Honestly I'm not positive. I took my hardware into the hardware store & figured out what worked for this application by selecting them out of organized bins.
just so you know!!! bolt and nut alone will not work. This system is sophisticated. Machining the bolt is extreme time consuming from 50mm down to 25mm to get the solid base for strength and im using the brass for the nut instead of aluminum. Best to understand the system i did purchase it and working on replicating the system. good luck
@@olivierjobin8558 A local small Hardware store. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc. should also have them. I was unable to find the same screws on Amazon to link unfortunately
@@jonathangorczyca1062 We tried 65mm, 90mm, 110mm and I think the 65mm was about right. It's gotta have smooth shaft (the first 22mm only is threaded) However it depends on the springs you end up getting! We put narrow (not as wide) springs top and bottom and it really works great. You can see the RUclips short on my channel for some footage.
those trash CANS at 2:04 GEEEZ bro!!!
Can the ring section of the Tilta Hydra Alien Shock Absorbing Head be removed? Thanks.
The new one is nice
What kind of washers are those called on top? and do you think those screws are a tad longer than 2 inches?
How does it look at higher speeds?

Is there a reason why you use your Hydra arm upside down??
Because it still operated the same with the same results & it gave me easier access to the adjustment knob on the shock arm.
2:04 - how close was that? :D
Too close haha

@@EricNelsonYT hey! Curious to know where you found the 2inchs screws?

What type of screw is that? The size? M3? 1/4? Thanks!
9/16-12 I believe.
Definitely not 1/4-20
The screws are M5, we are trying 65mm length with 22mm threaded section. Testing soon but I’m sure we’ll run into more issues trial and error.
@@eastonchang did this end up working? Im gonna buy some if so. Thanks!
