I dont think Elon would have ever thought the plaid would be a camera car but its absolutely perfect for the job. Silent, Fast, and smooth. And it's probably cheaper than the standard Porsche that you see everywhere to boot.
I've been thinking of the intro at 0:30 for four days now, it's a smooth transition crosses all information needed without being boring and still cinematic. The rest of the video was good but the intro was abosultey amazing. Great work!

It’s critical to remind everyone (younger generation especially) of the huge risks associated with high horsepower, public streets and roadways. 🤙🏼
Something I found interesting is how the extreme speeds and acceleration do not necessarily look materially faster than the speeds that a Hollywood production would typically film a car chase. Once something is moving even 30-40 mph past a lens (instead of the lens traveling with it) our brain says "fast".
Awesome results with latest consumer tech. 50 mm shots are outstanding. Thought about selling all my BM4K RIG and Canon EF Lens stuff for DJI… But I will wait just till next year Q1. At the moment I’m locked in my apartment because of C. Quarantine, that sucks but I can be creative in my studio. Best from Germany !
Ive been using a rebuilt/stripped down Inspire 2 body the same way for years now and I never had that horizon-problem i see in these videos :/ still excited to get my 4d tho. There should be a workaround for it

Absolutely love this content! On the sound design side of the Supra audio, the unedited sounded “real” as what an enthusiast (me) would expect to hear, especially the shrill notes. Not sure how you’d blend the two further but would love to see your development process in preserving the raw sound with your extensive experience in sound design. Glad to hear you’re taking it to the track next… be sure to leave plenty of room for braking! Team up and collaborate with the Triple F Collection channel, they have a Plaid and plenty of cars to film that deserve your skills 🙌

I kind of dig the free pro-mist look. It’s actually pretty subtle, a little under an eighth. I don’t want to sandblast my lenses though. 😂 Nice stuff as always, Josh!

Super awesome to see that BUT why was the fourth axis (z-axis) locked or did I see wrong? How does the 4d perform compared to a dji rs2 with a cam on it?
The 4th axis only helps for walking. Doesn't do anything while mounted on a car, the liDAR sensing units in the bottom wouldn't register the distance to the ground in time at such high speeds. Plus the footage is the smoothest I've ever shot so far on a car mounted gimbal. A lot of it has to do with the size of the lens and camera and the minimal amount of wind drag that is created with the DL lenses. The other factors are the cars suspension and the Tilta hydra Alien being perfectly balanced. This combination has yielded unbelievably smooth results, best I've seen outside of a 6 axis gimbal like the Shot Over or the Cine flex systems. Which are easily $500K systems.
Amazing combination. Plaid + Ronin 4D seems like a relatively budget supercar filming platform. (Look up what a those Porsche Cayenne Camera Crane cost)

i am tesla swapping my 1990 jeep YJ aiming for 1100hp with upgraded inverters i plan to use it as a camera car that can go anywhere it needs to go i am also in BC Canada always good to see a local face.
BS you were at Palmdale California mall and either lake la or tehachapi backroads out of Rosamond into tehachapi, not Mexico. But it does ook like you utilized the freestanding sets we have out here one being a fake us mexico border used in blue streak with Marin Lawrence, but it was all shot in the antelope because Joshua trees only exist in Jerusalem and antelope valley California not in Mexico. But big applause and much props as a local AV filmmaker myself. You guys are bad ass and you guys kick ass please let me know if I could come out and watch you guys work if your out this way filming again. I really love and respect your guys channels and all your hard work. You guys rule. 😁😁😁
for sure the Tilta Hydra Alien Car Mounting System has his limit but for the price for what you can get is wild 🤯 maybe in future video you can custom rig something amazing with that
I assume they didn't want to compete with R2. But this most likely can still be done with an expansion pack and firmware upgrade. They did not expect the camera to perform so well on car mounts I believe, otherwise they would have. Personally I think it's the best way to use the camera, insanely useful for shooting cars.
I got to shoot some Taycan for Porsche stuff, and I got to say the reaction from that girl when we were testing the speed acceleration was pretty much the same from mine reaction. It was so awesome

It also has a ton and a half of battery weight down low to prevent a heavy camera crane rig from tipping the vehicle.

If you want a diffusion filter just put your lens at 120 mph and drop some sand in front of it

However the brakes are atrocious in regards to the power …. Highly recommend using unplugged performance for brake upgrades

First time I took my DJI Air2S out for a maiden flight I also got a lens FULL of bugs!
