Well, it was A9III with global shutter, not A7. And as mentioned above, it's not released yet. And won't be for few more months. All those reviews around web were made on pre-production cameras. I don't think that any was send, all were given to reviewers for some time at press conferences.
I was super surprised when I first got to play around with the 4D 6k, not just because it was so easy to use and you can get dolly-like shots with minimal effort, but it almost looked like the camera was creating light out if nowhere while looking at a city scape at night. Love it
Always appreciate the work you put into these objective tests. Kudos. I'd like to humbly suggest that you add testing actual resolving power (lpp detail, not pixels) to your test suite. A higher sensor resolution does not always equal more real detail (For example the 8K Sony A1 resolves more real detail than the Ursa Mini 12K) so measurements from an actual resolution chart would be very helpful. To keep a level playing field, you could always use the same super sharp EF lens (Sigma cine primes are sharper than any sensor can resolve) adapted to every other mount.

Hello Gerald. Regarding putting the 8k footage on a 4k timeline. What algorithm are you using to do the downscaling? How much does that affect the resulting calculated Dynamic Range? Thanks!
I'm curious about the difference in dynamic range between ProRes HQ and RAW, even though ProRes doesnt compress as bad as avi or mp4 it still would loose some data. But overall the highlight roll off and rolling shutter have been improved.
There is none. The D-LOG curve contains all of the dynamic range the sensor can capture, no matter the codec. There may be reasons to shoot raw, DR is not one of them.
this is a camera that always intrigued me as I always fly on a gimbal, but won't work for 20% of my work, where I use a 70-200 on a gimbal or a remotely controlled zoom lens on a camera car :C guess I should keep the FX3s

Hey Gerald, thanks for doing this, fantastic video. My main complaint with the 6k version when I used it on a couple projects was the forced aspect ratio and crop changes with frame rate. i.e., going from 4k/24p to 4k/120p required either a switch from 16:9 to 2.4:1 and/or a switch from full-frame to S35 crop. It made it a nightmare for composing shots and it was a nightmare for my editor. Have they changed that for this new 8K iteration? It appears you can shoot basically any combination of resolution and frame rate at any aspect and full frame?
I always wanted the DJI Ronin ever since your body Josh Yeo did a review. Being retired NOT HAPPENING. But still think it a very neat product. How big a lens can you put on that gimbal? my Tamron 35-150 is heavy!
