Great video. Thanks. But im curious how you handle the ammonia or is every 2weeks your regular water change? I also think about putting an auto feeder but worried on the ammonia since I dont think my tank can handle 2weeks although it has been cycled.
That was great to see that your goldfish did well while you were gone for two weeks! You came back to do a thorough gravel cleaning! I know they are so happy to see you back. I missed my three bettas and worried about them while I was gone to Las Vegas for a week! I was grateful that they survived and did well in their ten and five gallon tanks.
I have a 10 gallon tank (i still live with parents dont judge) and it has 4 Pond snails, 4 male guppies, and one female Mosquitofish, and one male Mosquitofish. We used to have 2 female Mosquitofish, but one died. We clean it about once a month. We don't get much algae with snails and fish that'll eat some.
FYI to the comments, cleaning is best to make the water clear, but if you feel like you want to try using a water clarifier as well, just make sure the water is oxygenated or else you'll have a bunch of dead suffocated fish. Water clarifiers bind together particulates but that also has an effect on the gills, making them constrict/harder to breathe. I personally would not bother using them.
I had always thought fish liked lots of things in their tank to explore, but notice these are almost empty. Is it a myth that the like plants and rocks and things?
They love plants and stuff to hide and explore but if i remember corrwctly goldfish usually eat all plants they see. I feel like his fish has no enrichment and its kinda sad:(
They do like that stuff but every time he tries to add plants they eat them all. Last time Clarence choked and he had to pull a big chunk of plant out of his throat with tweezers. Clarence isn't the smartest fish.
Tie java ferns to small rocks with silicone rubber bands and put them in terracotta pots. I do that in all my goldfish tanks and both fish and ferns do great. The ferns love all the goldfish waste and remove a lot of ammonia and nitrates. The goldfish love playing in the ferns and don't do much damage. Helps keep the tanks very clean once the ferns get big.
Wait wait wait, to get this clear, because with this I can start finally understand on how to keep them clean and alive (I been trying to read a lot because I been begging for fish because I love them so much I want to own and babysit fish) You basically have them with sand and sediment, and if it got that dirty or hints of the process of that much dirty I just drain as much water to that level, while scrubbing and cleaning both tank and filters and such, and just fill with water again and it's not like extreme special water right?
Depending where you live you’re tap water might have chlorine.. so you need to either get a formula to fix that at the store or you put the tap water in a tub and let it sit for a day or two to let it evaporate.. then you don’t need that formula. You also never empty the water entirely... you should do a partial water change every week... you also should start your tank without fish, and have it cycle and get good bacteria working in there. A lot of new owners kill their fish bc the tank has not cycled yet. There is so much info online to learn everything you need and what you need to get and do to properly own fish. Good luck
You also need to research the kind of fish that you are gonna get extensively, different fish eat different things, take a certain water temperature and different environments. If you go to a pet store they should be able to give you a lot of good information and help you with everything you need to know also.. but you should have a grasp of how to keep them alive and know how to keep all of the levels at a safe level.. meaning the ammonia, nitrites, nitrates.. temp... etc.
@@epizzle9232 yup, I guess my real question was if that water was special chemical before adding it in, getting the same type of fish I just ask to make sure since he is pro at this but not really many pet fish owners are not They have the information but most times that ain't really the case of it being the "correct" information
its amazing what a 30% water change does, my tanks look like they’re liquid glass and before you can see a little particle matter and little cloudy, I say 30% once a week
So u scrub the gunk and dirt off then drain drain about 80% of it and then fill it back up and let it settle to naturally filter it, am I in the right ballpark?
Brrroooo !! I love your magic , so you just empty almost all the water with as much dirt you can suck out , and then just fill it back up with the fish still inside !!!!? How long did you had the water sitting with conditioner?
You should spray the back with black plasti dip that way you can have a clean elegant looking tank with the white leds and if you don’t like or decide you want to go back to cords and blinds then you can easily peal it off
I have goldfish and we once had a suckerfish or by its name plecos for like 13 or 14 years. It's a it eats algae along with other fibers. It cleans the walls of the tank nicely and are a big help! If you haven't tried already you should get one. Search up on it if you like 👍
Yeah, I had a decent-sized one for a long time, I was young so of course his name was suckerfish. Doing a little research now I am pretty sure it was a type of pleco.
plecos shouldn’t be kept with gold fish, plecos need tropical water and goldfish need cooler water. if you keep them together one or both will be suffering
You leave the fishes inside while doing the through cleaning won't they have any problem with all the dirt mixed when it was so foggy and any other problems?

There is sand in tank bro?
If you have a pregnant goldfish how I deal with it
A goldfish tank should not require this much maintenance, something is wrong with your filters.
That’s awesome! Quick question, what do you use to keep your fish fed during the trip?
Auto feeders! Check out my older long videos to see!
great question! i was wondering too + forgot to ask.

Is that why they live in such a sad looking tank?
Wow beautiful tank and fish, but don’t you need to add plants? To give them somewhere to have privacy?
this is why I hate going on vacation. I’m anxious about my tanks the whole time.
Every time my wife does a water change we lose a goldfish
😅
divorce her
Maybe you should be doing them instead? 😅
Do you treat the water before putting it in the tank, or just treat it in the tank?
I can imagine the fish as the water was going down like “OH MY GOOOOD” hahaha
All the time, every fish in every tank says that.
How long did it take for it to clear ??

you should put some decor and plants in there:)
Watching the goldfish swim around at like 5x the speed is awesome.
Beautiful! #TrustTheProcess worked a lot better for you than the 76ers!
Do you add anything to the tank? It's so empty! But great clean; maybe you took the stuff out to clean it?
Gold fish better keep without any decoration (rock, plant, Wood)

I was wondering the same thing. Those silly little dumb dumbs, now they get no decor! Lol
Awesome! Love how nice and well-taken care of those fish are. Toe reveal soon?

How you get crystal clear soo quick?? How many hours
What was the process , how is got clean even after looking water muddy
Es increible!!
Pero en ese momento no se intoxican los peces cuando se levanta el amoníaco del fondo?
Why don’t you put any plants or rocks in your tank? I wouldn’t know, but I feel like the fish would like it.
I explain that in my goldfish care guide linked on Lukesgoldies.com !

Not 80% tho should realistically be doing no more then 25 to 40% for a tank that size. The ammonia and nitrates must shoot up plus the pH lvls.
Did you use same water
i bet this dude didn’t even unpack before he cleaned this tank, you can tell he loves them a lot.
If ur aquarium got that dirty in two weeks, you are doing something wrong
The tank will always look filthy if you only do weekly or fortnightly water changes because of the shit built up in the substrate.

How are you filling back up ..water needs to sit and be treated to get rid of chlorine???.
Did the sponge filters clean all that debris out the water change?
Probably
thats a huge water change surprised they are still alive
