      The common American has been derelict of government duties for a very long time, and is purposely kept ignorant of what these duties are, and what understanding is required for these duties.
      To prove the point, just ask the common coworker or individual off the street what their opinion of politics is, or ask them to demonstrate some general knowledge of political things, and you'd probably get one of two responses: scorn and despising attitude, or ignorance.
      "Gubmint is for those people, not for me."
      We are a Constitutional Representative Republic. How do we expect representatives to represent, when we never communicate with those representatives, much less know their names, or that the office exists? We can spend boat loads of time griping, moaning, whining, complaining, arguing, debating over why crap is the way it is, but we know almost nothing about our own system. Now just how do we expect to fix it? When a ship builder is nowhere to be found, the ship is sinking from damage, and everyone is running around the boat hollering at each other about mutiny, how is the boat going to stop sinking?

    Good-controlled information. Didn't think any 22 LR could go toe to toe with the Magnum. It might be worth going with the LR for cheap ammo and load up Punch rounds for serious work, whereas with 22 Mag there is no cheap ammo.

    • @Nexy9
      @Nexy9 2 года назад +11

      It can't go toe to toe with, look at the difference in projectile weight. 50% more weight, same velocity. That's A LOT more powerful.

    • @Nexy9
      @Nexy9 2 года назад +15

      Plus, if there's a barrel over 3 inches the magnum will start pulling ahead massively, the "ballistics by the inch" website which is exactly what it sounds like, shows that the jump from 2 inches to 3 inches in barrel length, showing bullets of every weight gains ~200 fps from that one inch alone.
      For .22 LR, 27 grain CCI from a 2 inch to 3 inch: 861 fps to 907 fps. Barely any increase compared to magnum.
      I love .22 mag, such a fun and capable round.

My hands have arthritis so a larger caliber is a no go.Your video answers some key questions I had about .22 long rifle for personal defense.Thank you. One thing I would like to see is how these smaller rounds handle a heavy jacket or even a car window/windshield.

    An eight shots .22 lr snub revolver is starting to become a serious concealed carry defense gun with that ammo. Let's see future developments of that caliber. No need to buy an equivalent six shots .22 magnum and in my opinion much less a five shots .38 special but I would still prefer by the moment a six shots .327 Federal Magnum over the rest.

    • @denmar355
      @denmar355 Год назад +2

      That’s a real fluke. Should not be that way. Just more powder and more pressure. The difference is because the LR is pushing a 29gr bullet, and the WMR is pushing 45gr. I’d try something different than the Punch ammo. And with both pushing the same weight it will be a different story.

    • @jbinsc
      @jbinsc 8 месяцев назад

      @@denmar355 the magnum is a hollow point, the long rifle is a solid.
      High speed photography might show a larger temporary wound channel for the magnum. My thinking is maybe the long rifle lead bullet is a little harder than the low cost rounds. The fact that the magnum still expands after passing through two layers of denim is pretty impressive.
      Both are very effective in short barreled handguns. A win win in my book.

      Everyone always claim it's for people who can't "handle" recoil, which is a common ignorant train of thought. The .22 wmr is also perfect for for who live in tropical climate where folks are either wearing a T-shirt or thin hula shirts. If I'm wearing my board shorts, my auto loader is pulling my shirt. s down where my .22 wmr is light enough. I have been impressed with the Punch 22lr for sometime. I know 22lr not much for carry but my wife's arthritis is bad. And she runs this in her MP 22 compact and does great. So cool to see in jell block

      They've come a long way with rimfire ammunition. This PUNCH stuff is proof. Thanks Scott.

    I too was surprised by the actual velocities and penetration depths, especially the 22lr.
    The expanded hollow point and penetration depth of that 22WMR is impressive too. Good work by Federal AND you sir. Thank you!

    What ever happened with the rock island 22 magnum revolver that you were having issues with since we are talking about 22s?

    Man after seeing this test I don't see any need for me to buy magnum punch rds in my convertible Uberti revolver......That 22 lr Punch did an amazing job and that wound channel was absolutely amazing.

    Hello there Mr. Buffalo Bob, I've watched a few of your videos' and absolutely love this one. I am 63 and in good shape. I hit the gym 3 days a week and do not look or feel 63. The point is that regardless of the lack of strength or the ability to handle larger caliber I love the 22lr. I have 3. I do have a 9mm and a .380 but my all time favorite is and EDC is the Ruger LCR and the Ruger LCP. I can shoot fast, accurate and with nearly no recoil feel very confident I have the ability to stop or to change the mind set of pretty much any conviction that may come my way. I'm not in law enforcement so I am not putting myself into drug houses, chasing gangs or any high risk situations like that. I love watching videos like your because 22lr and Mag are not what they used to be or what the Big ego truck drivers that look down on 22lr carrying. Keep up with these great videos.
    Joe

    Thanks for the good work Buffalo. Based on your test results, I have just bought two 2nd hand pistols in cal. 22lr, an ERMA pocket Pistole in the size of a Walther TP, and a Baikal Margolin for target shooting...25 and 50 meter distance shooting 🌠

    In my mind, the 22lr performed better than I expected. Obviously, a 22lr is not 44Mag but it’ll work better than nothing! Great video, thanks for sharing!

    I think out of anyone on RUclips, you can do a 25 yard shot into a gel block. Ret from demonstrated concepts did a longer range test on these and I'm curious if you get the same results.
    Great video as always! Thanks for the test.

    Great comparison video, Buffalo. I never would have predicted the results you got either! Went out, located and bought 12 boxes of .22 punch .22 LR today. The jury is still out concerning the .22 WMR punch ammunition. With gel block results being so similar, it’s hard to justify spending 60-65% per round more for WMR.
