Peter McKinnon Hi Peter, I'm a really big fan of yours and, since I don't have any money to pay Lightroom or Photoshop, I was wandering if you could make a video showing your favourite free photo editing softwares . I really love photography but I don't have any sort of budget (I am using my dad' s TEN years old camera to shoot) and I would love to get at your level but I am noticing that no matter what every photographer I look up to uses a bit of Photoshop to make things better. I would really appreciate it!

Actually, it was inspiring by its simplicity. I used the Stories as a way to show something that I don't wanna fill my instagram reel with: being at a gig, photos of nice places, but the photos turned out to be not good enough to keep them there Forever, etc. I wanna try this simple and creative approach. I think, I'll start it even with the voting to find out how many of my followers really do wanna watch it. Thank you a lot, guys!

The amount of work put into these Instagram stories videos is inspiring because it just goes to show you that if you love something then you should do it no matter who see's it.
I would totally do this if it wouldn't take away time from other content that I already post on Instagram. Knowing myself, I would start to over think to much and then get less and less content out there which would be a total bummer. But good on Jesse for all of his hard work.

At 8:24 the camera tilts up, but both people involved in the shoot are in the frame. Was there a third person person taking the picture? or was there some other method to do the tilt up? Mechanical device? Post?

Snapchat is my primary form of communication at this point, Instagram is just where girls post cringy posts of them being "sarcasticly" weird and for everyone to post photos that fake how good their lives are.

Hey I try film portrait then take it into iMovie on the iPhone, but it turns it into a square how do you zoom out or do I have to edit on the laptop, rather not as the phone is always with me
Jeremy Simpson I had the same problem, here's how to fix it! Click the footage and you'll see a button at the top right saying zoom out (i don't remember the exact word) click on that and pinch out. Hope this helps

plug your camera sad card into pc. Choose your pic you wanna upload and save it to desktop. Then upload that image to google drive. Go to your device and install google drive. Open it and sign in. Download the pic and upload it:)
Ironite actually it's not that easy. I have done all that you suggested and it doesn't meet size requirements straight from the camera to Instagram. when re sizing the footage from a pro camera to Instagram stories friendly size it also still didn't work. so I changed the bit rate and that didn't even work. I look through all of RUclips and Google, very little is mentioned on shooting on a pro camera and putting the footage on IG Stories since it's still a new feature on IG.
Gabriel Garcia Rosa Instagram stories allow a maximum of 1MB video footage. I have tried uploading videos of bigger size, but it doesn't upload. So your video needs to be less than 1MB. I don't know how to retain quality and still reduce the size
Gabriel Garcia Rosa actually - i tried this myself and heres what worked. i rendered the video at 1920x1080 and it was about 600kb at a bitrate of 0.5 or so mbps with .h264 encoding, but it didnt upload. after trying a few times i just put it into my phone's editing software that reduced the dimensions of the video to the long edge at 1280pixels but the size was now about 4 MB because of the less than ideal rendering system on my phone, but it worked. so your video doesnt need to be less than 1MB, it just needs to be 1600 pixels or less on the long edge and a 9:16 aspect ratio. i hope that makes sense. feel free to ask me to clear anything up if you want.
1. Put your card in computer (or if you have a wifi camera send it to your phone)
2. edit your 15 second video in a video editor
3. change properties to 900x1600 in your editing program
4. email the video to yourself, or air drop (iphone)
5. save the file, and upload to story by swiping up on the screen where your suppose to take a live video or photo

2. Use a camera mount to mount anywhere
3. Record vertically
4. Record using all landscapes
5. Use text to build a story for people to follow
6. Film differently: time lapse, film yourself about to film for story, include everything to your advantage. Find different ways to record the same thing.

Check out GIMP, it's a free alternative to Photoshop with a lot of the same functions!
Exetera Gaming Exetera Gaming You can download Adobe lightroom on your phone, it's free, you have a free month trial, after that trial expires you will have everything exept selection tool, it's the same on the pc, for me at least
If you want to edit RAW files like in Lightroom then Darktable is a great alternative. Unfortunately, it's only for Linux and OS X, no Windows support.
Check out Rawtherapee is awesome! I'm not a pro but I edit my stuff with it. Check @raaaphotography in IG every single photo is edited with Rawtherapee.
This is incredible! When IG rolled out stories I knew it would be sooooo powerful. Love this and love stories. One thing no one talks about.. quality on stories is better than the actual gram.

Transfer it to the computer and edit it, then transfer to the phone and in Instagram you swipe left to add a story and then swipe up from the bottom.

Edit the video on your computer, air drop (or similar) to your phone, then go to add your story as you normally would. Once it asks to take a photo, go live, etc. swipe upwards on the screen - it will show you photos/videos that were added to your library within the last 24 hours.

I have an iPhone but after I edit in iMovie it stretches the video our. It doesn't look good like his does.
MGSgraph look up Android File Transfer. I just put it on my MacBook today, but it seems to be what everyone with android is using. I have a beloved Note 8 btw

I have been trying to upload videos to Instagram Stories for months and it has never worked. I've tried multiple formats and file sizes and it always fails. From what I've read, it seems to be a common problem with Samsung phones. Is Anyone else having this issue? It looks like I might have to get an iPhone for this to work.
I think you're right. Tried my first one today and it wouldn't upload. Thought it was a file size issue and spent ages trying to reduce the file size, but the quality was terrible. But then tried it from my ipad just now and it uploaded. Deleted the bad quality one and tried from my S8 again and it didn't work, so tried the ipad again and it uploads quickly. Quality isn't HD though - if anyone has tips on the best way to save it so it's high quality but still a small file size from Premiere CC, I'd be interested.

Your right Peter just now looked through Jesse's highlights and they really suck you in watched a lot of them end to end who would of thought simple things like stop start slowmo and some great music would add so much to short clips. Thanks for this
