You’re an amazing woman and it takes a lot of courage to figure out who you truly are as a person. Too many people stay in relationships because it’s easy or secure. Trust me, you have plenty of time to figure out your true self and when it’s time to date again. You’re an absolute catch, beautiful, and very smart. :)
I broke up with my girlfriend at the start of the year. We were best friends for about 8 years, then intimate for a year. But it never felt like an equal relationship. I felt less like her boyfriend and more like her cook, her driver, her delivery person, her maid, etc. She had a lot of issues, too, like past trauma and PTSD, so I felt like her therapist, too. I tried to be supportive and comforting, but it was just a constant barrage of trying to reassure her or calm her down from something that triggered her anxiety, etc. It just became too much. I was exhausted walking on eggshells around her all time. I realized one of my highest love languages is acts of service, and I feel like that was taken advantage of. Could I have been more empathetic? Probably. And I did try. But it was just constant that I became overwhelmed.
