BOOM, none of the nations can retaliate because their military is completely destroyed, and there was no need for any civilian death.

The Attack Titan, being able to see the future memories of all holders, is forced to act in a way to bring about that future, regardless of what they want. For example, Grisha DIDN’T want to kill the royal family, but did it anyway because he saw that he did. Eren did all that shit in season 4 after seeing he would when he kissed Historia’s hand at the end of season 3. The reality is Ymir just been waiting 2000 years for the right circumstances, and the Attack Titan’s role was to bring about those circumstances. Kruger told Grisha he had to do what he had to do to save Mikasa & Armin, and they weren’t even born yet. Edit: I love this story and the ending shall be perfect, contrary to past (manga readers who know) & future arguments (anime only’s who are gonna get there hearts broken).

The experienced Attack Titan doesn’t get the illusion of freedom, because they know what they’re going to do, even if they don’t understand why they’re going to do it. There is no freedom of choice for Eren & only an illusion of choice for everyone else.
