👊🏼Thank you for your support, and let's improve at golf TOGETHER!
Thanks for tuning in! Do you also feel like you need more consistency in your game like me?! 😂I do you hit that thumbs up button 👍🏼
Nobody ever talks about this. I've been looking high and far for anything to show me what the hands are supposed to do. Excellent. I'll be practicing this during this winter. Thank you.
Most weekend golfers lose their balance near the end of the swing, and are all arms and hands at impact , because of very little rotation. I learned that by really rotating my hips through at impact and having them facing the target at the finish will keep me in balance and be less handsy. When I practice I do a drill of exaggerating my weight transfer and rotating through aggressively. As usual another great video , thank you.
This has changed my golf game 100 % . Thanks for putting good information out for us weekend golfers !!
"Again, let's go ball number two!"
Brother, you are quick, great muscle connection techniques and a phenomenal educator.
Thank you sir! @AlexElliottGolf
Thank you
One of your best. I was really screwed up on the hands before. I see why now. Thanks!
Awesome video 👍. Yesterday, started taking more club and tried to stop trying to kill the ball. It works! All I need to do now is keep that mind set.
Love it Alex! Am working on this with my club pro this winter. I like your analogies and feels. Really resonating with me. Hopefully this will help me to get from a frightful +0.7 to a fearless +2!
Thanks! This is my issue, and I'm excited to try the drills. Well presented.
Very clear explanations because you take time in showing and repeating important parts!!
Excellent video I have this miss also always to the left I will be working on this drill tomorrow again thanks Alex
Great video, repeating over and over that 9 to 3 o'clock move!
This is me exactly especially my first few shots first drive is dogleg left and I'm always on the driving range thanks Alex I will be trying this defo.
Makes a lot of sense what you are showing!
It gives you a good understanding of what to do and feel when trying to hit a golfball 🙂
Great teaching. Thank you. The half drill worked really well on course for me today. Thank you
Alex, your golf tips are primo! Can you make a demo on leg, hip, weight transfer? Dan
Great drills to visualise the role of the hands in the swing.
All he talked about was the right hand.
Working on this. Thank you.😄
Great video. I think this video will help me.
Thanks very much Alex. 👍
Great video. But it raises a question. Is the much talked about and promoted concept of the L to L drill now discredited? At least by instructors such as yourself? Do you feel body release vs hands release works for seniors who generally struggle with lower clubhead speeds?
Great video I'm gonna take this to the range tomorrow, i struggle with low point do you have a video with that.
Great video on the hands !!
Thank you
I will have to have a go at this thanks
Really enjoy your videos Alex, plenty turning over on the 5 iron...I met you once... it was a bit of a shock and an absolute pleasure hahaahah
thank you! Haha pleasure mate
Like the drill but i'm a dominant right handed individual who plays left handed.!On its own my left hand has very limited capability. You have nailed my problem though so I have work to do. Thanks, appreciate the help
Thanks Alex, exactly the problem I have, too right hand dominant which leads to a nasty hook at times. Very odd as I’m left handed but play right handed.
Went to the range lunchtime and holding off with a high hands finish certainly gets rid of the hook… Thanks Alex, keep up the great work.
Sounds good, will try it
Great swing Alex. It can you tell me how to hit a fade and a draw with respect to the club face position and hand path position through impact? Thanks
Great vid. Was literally practicing quitening my hands just before this video came out as I struggle with a hook and am playing at the weekend, so this is very helpful! Any tips for the same issue (snap hook) with a driver would be great!
Brill! I am glad you will find it useful
The best golfer in the world aka Tiger released the club with far more rotation. When he had his accident he knew he was still able to play because and I quote him " As long as my hands work I can play". Just food for thoughts. Love ur stuff
I really enjoy your short, digestible instruction. It’s giving me a lot of a little things to work on which have made a lot of improvement. Can this same drill work with driver?
yes that’s right and glad it helped !
Nice drill, thanks. Again, swinging just arm(s) , no ball/club, will be a good off-season drill
Hi,after lots off videos, hundreds and hundreds off golf balls, little workout .sr it happen 165y to the green after a nice drive. in to out swing into the green over a banker with a baby drow, next hole 155y the same.was jumping up and down .one shot can change everything.thank you sr
Hope it helps
Consistent!! 🙏
Great stuff!
Glad you think so!
Great lesson. I finally found out what my mysterious errand shot comes from. I noticed my Cobra Driver on you lesson notice. What ever happened to my gift?
Thanks! What do you mean sorry?
This is uncanny! How often does your video coincide with my lesson with you? Although I understand from today that I need a better release (the exaggeration to get back to square). This is spooky 😄
Great video boss could you do a video on alignment has its the biggest problem for 90% of golfers when the tee box puts you on weard angles which messes most golfers up including me.
yeah of course

So it should feel like an underhand or scoop motion? Clubface to the sky?
Hi Alex, I watched this this morning my time as part of my now new every morning routine. However, I had to think about this particular one before commenting and posting a question. I’m left handed. I write with my left hand, throw with my left hand, play tennis with my left hand and kick with my left foot predominately. However, I play golf right handed (I also bat for cricket as a right hander). I’m also a south paw. So, what I’m getting to is (as I was introduced to golf at the age of 6, am 47 now). Have I been playing with the wrong clubs purely based on this analogy? Maybe due to my father and his father who introduced me to golf. Both right handed. Me left and not having a set of left hander clubs available. I love this theory and would it be better for me to start all over again with left hander clubs? I’ve not been able to achieve a single digit handicap and am confident your tips will improve my game. My handicap is currently 12, however due to not playing as much (Covid related maybe) it was previously 10. I’ve practiced this drill with just a tennis ball as I also bowl with my left hand. I’ve always been a slicer as I know my top hand is the dominant one however since practicing your tips I’m now hitting it either straight or with a very slight hook as I’m using the bottom hand more. I’m also hitting the ball further. So, what is your advice? Stick to trying to continue my game playing as a right hander? Or bite the bullet and start all over again? I under this question might be different than the norm and I’m also wondering if others fall into this category.
Keep up the great daily tips mate. Love your work and teaching style. 👍😎🇦🇺
Wow it’s a tough one, if you feel comfortable with being right handed then i would stay stick with that - but if you feel you can reach a different level by changing to left then it might be worked it. Thanks for the comment
@@AlexElliottGolf it is a tough one. To be honest I have pondered about it a couple of times and dismissed it. However since I’ve been watching and listening to your teaching style it really has made me think about it. I do know a few people at the club I’m a member of so I might just ask one if I could borrow a set and at least hit two buckets of balls at the driving range. It’s not that I’m unhappy with my current handicap or that I don’t love the game anymore, nor am I wanting to be hitting of scratch however a single digit has a nice ring to it. Anyhow, I am confident, just with the time I’ve been enjoying and paying attention to your tips that this alone will drop me below 10. I have entered 4 comps all within the next two months so I will hopefully see an improvement then. However, purely based on the lessons I’ve watched so far I know I’m hitting the ball much better on the range already. As you know, it is different when playing on a course. I appreciate the response. Thanks Alex. 👍😎🇦🇺
I have the most disconnected swing and it’s not pretty! Drill I need to try for sure as very armsy and handsy if they are even words 🤪😂 snap hook is my bad shot!
Class vid
thank you
Going to have to try this! My swing is way too wristy and I am hitting uncontrollable hooks and literally shanking wedges. It's embarrassing and makes me not even want to play. lol
Can you make an AE bloopers video? Would be so much fun!
haha yes i am going to start doing this as a few people have asked
Looks like you’re eliminating all wrist action until after impact. Doesn’t that take away speed? Thanks Alex
it doesn’t no
Alex does this work for the driver?
Yeah i would try this for sure !
Passive hands are required not hinging wrist flicks
i ike the idea of passive hands int he golf swing for sure
@@AlexElliottGolf It has been a hard lesson to learn for me
I use to do it on my full swing and not on my short pitches
Now it is the other way round wrists in the pitches and passive hands on the full swing
Unfortunately, I can make the heel overtake the toe.
Does the weight of the club carry you into the follow through?
yes !
Oh man did my hands come at a bad time yesterday. On my driver no less. Many thanks for this drill!
