I am purchasing an FP-30 today. I've been watching piano demos on RUclips for the last 2 weeks, and visited four stores already, trying to decide. Your way to explain the instrument is the best I've seen. Simple, clear, to the point explanation at the beginning, and a short demo of some instruments at the end. This is the best approach I could find, to help me decide. Please keep it up...!!! And a big THANK YOU...!
Hi Ely. Definitely go for it. I tried the app on an Android device. I think will be much better on an iPad, but other than that, I am so glad I decided to get this piano...!
Great demo. Roads is the perfect song to show that particular sound mode. And Young’s Til the morning comes. Much better than random elevator music styles you hear played on other demos! I’m definitely more likely to buy this model because of your vid.
I was a Yamaha guy too. I had 6 Yamaha keyboards in my life, but I decided to buy a 88 keys piano. I compared some Yamaha models (P-45, P-115, P-125) and by far this Roland has the best sound and hammer action feeling. I bought it without hesitation. Now I'm Roland guy 😁
@@joseavila7313 Thank you for your honest review. At firts I wanted the P-125 as it's lighter (to go to rehearsals) and has more outputs and 4 speakers. But lots of people prefer the FP-30. I'll go and test both in a music store in a few days. I'll come back with the one I'll prefer the most.
@@joseavila7313 Tried both P-125 and FP-30 two days ago, and went back home with the FP-30. I'm happy with sound and action. But it has less options than the yamaha regarding connections and USB possibilities.
i'm looking for a piano to use on top of a table. i'd imagine these speakers pointed downwards are an issue? the sound suffers if it isn't on a piano stand?
From what I've heard when you press down the key, sound comes out through it too so it isn't all focused on the speakers for that very same reason. Can't remember what review it was though
I had a little play with a Roland FP30 in the store today and after coming from a lightweight keyboard I noticed the keys on this system are very heavy and somewhat sluggish, my heart loves that it feels like a piano but even some real acoustic piano keys raise faster than this digital piano, do you ever find issues with pressing the same note again and again for fast songs?
I use the Roland FP-30 alot for my Solo and duo gigs, is there a way to have a dual voice in the right hand (Piano and Strings combo) while the left hand is split to use Fingered bass? End result is bass in the left hand > Piano and Strings combo in the right..
The sound from the built-in speaker is much worse than the sound when you connect the headphones. Is this normal? I didnt expect such a big difference. Should I buy a couple of external speakers?
lendaru Does it really sound that bad, I’ve been looking for digital pianos to buy and I’m undecided if I should go with a Roland or a Yamaha. What’s your opinion on this one?
Base Bentham I recommend you to test it before deciding. Go to a near store to play both and decide. The truth is Im getting familiar with the sound, but not sure yet if this is what I was expecting.
£20 Bluetooth audio adapter. Plug it into the headphone port. Get one that works while charging (as most are battery powered for portable use) so that you don't need to worry about the battery running flat.
Can i connect roland fp 30 to a computer via usbmidi, use pianoteq or oder sampl sound program, and be able with any conection to hear sounds back on my speakers on the roland fp 30? Thanks
Can you play piano and strings together without splitting? Meaning both hands both sounds, piano being the main, front sound and strings just the background?
@@joseavila7313 Thank you so much for the respond. I really tried to find how to do it...but I couldn't. I could play piano in the right hand and split strings in the left. But I couldn't manage to play both hands piano+ both hands strings simultaneously. Not sure what's the sound called. It's a sound of a regular piano with a soft tint of strings. Would u please be so kind to tell me how do I produce that sound. Greatly appreciated.
@@Liberty-bc3su Sure. First of all you need to select the "second" (background) sound by pressing the "Other" Tone button and the proper key of the desired tone. For example (press and hold the "Other" button and press the first A key (Strings 1) on the keyboard. Now you have assigned "Strings" to the "Other" tone. Now by pressing the "Piano" and "Other" buttons simultaneously you will be able to play both sounds (layer two sounds). Both buttons will be lighted also. @@joseavila7313 Also, could you please tell me how tp adjust the volume of each sound when playing simultaneously? Strings are to loud and I'd like to lower the volume so that piano is more auditable. Million thanks!!!
