Getting a 2025 xdrive g80 soon, going into it fully prepared to know this shit is going to eat my budget away, but its all good I think itll be worth it! What percentage of your monthly budget goes towards the m3 if you dont mind me asking? you feel like its a burden?
Does not feel like a burden since I’ve owned it already outright for a while now. Just hurts to see the prices of consumables that will never end on the car. The car is amazing but you really pay for the performance. Not anything new but sometimes makes you think is it really worth it?
@ferozmoto6766 honestly... Its hard to believe for most First it was wheels and suspension and diff, I'm in England so there's this specialist called birds who made custom valved dampers and custom spring rate springs+ anti roll bars for the e82 chassis, with the new diff and quaife this cost about £7k all in + 1k for wheels Then I went to somewhere which did full bolt on (stage 2) power aswell as quad exhaust and rear subframe and diff bushings, few other things and somehow that came out to 8k. Then I had a cosmetic only accident and decided instead of repair it in 135i body panels I'd go the 1M conversion route, custom body colour, full m3 arms camber plates, 6pc adjustable rear arms, every bushing on car replaced, four chassis braces, oil cooler and upg radiator, baffled pan, two piece brake rotors and upgraded vented aluminum pistons, spacers for the increased track etc more I'm forgetting I'm sure, total bill ended up at fucking 30k!! I look at it now and wonder wtf. Still got the headlights and seats to pay for 🤮
@@ferozmoto6766 yeah it is a one of a kind car I suppose, it has a dct and n55 so it's a car bmw never made and it's a lot more reliable than the n54 and much more fuel efficient and better sounding. Also a colour they never released in. Drives rings around a standard one too of course but i think if I ever want to sell it I would struggle to make 2/3rds the value I spent in selling it. I'd probably have to do one of those raffles that seem so popular atm. It was designed to be the perfect all rounder daily that can compete with a porsche on the B roads but also stand out at a car show rather than a track car so it's suspension is road biased and I run 17x9 Inch flowformed wheels on 245/40/17 square tyres with expensive spacers for the increased track but obviously have space for whatever really
i agree I do miss the three pedals sometimes. But for a fun sporty daily this thing just gets everything right. And if you have the budget and capacity to have a second car like a manual Miata. I think you got the best of both worlds.
S2K market is pretty down tbh, there are a lot of good deals on bring a trailer and cars and bids that may be more exciting than a Miata
I need to drive one! I’m sure I’ll love it but I hear for track cars they need a lot of aero to keep em planted.
@@ferozmoto6766 you really need to drive one!! It’s a car I think everyone needs to experience
No grey market or non-branded M parts yet for the G80?
Not much out there tbh
@ everyone is trying to cash in
G80 Xdrive is the only M3 I would buy. 52k miles and only had to put two sets of tires on it so far. That's it.
More power and AWD will chew up tires even faster on track. For daily driver purposes it’s not super relevant but for track abuse it all adds up.
I’m trying to go from a ND2 Miata to a G80 manual lol
ND2 or ND3 would be perfect haha. Would be a perfect dual garage for me.
Yeah I would keep it and turn it into a track car if I had the money, but I wouldn’t be able to afford both a M3 and Miata

I thought I'd be thrifty and get a 135i coupe dct...only 16k and was a bargain...few mods I thought and It will be perfect.
I'm now at £65k spent.
The BMW Curse strikes everyone haha I’m sure you’re 135i is a beast though!

You got yourself a 1M though! I’d love to drive one of those.

Would love to see it, have an Instagram?
BMW M3 is a great car but if you want best bang for buck a Tesla M3P is the better car imo for a do it everything car.
Model 3P seems like a practical fun daily but lack of third pedal and motor would drive me crazy. Glad it works out for you though.

@@amanfromoakland I agree, best to have both to scratch each itch!
The interior quality of the Tesla Model 3/Y is a deal breaker. Also, you can’t modify much of it and only Tesla can fix it or provide parts.
Great point!
I bought one a few weeks ago hoping it would be my only car (6MT, buckets, Ind.) coming down from 2 to now shopping for a daily. Again. SMH.
Haha we always need a daily for our daily lmao
