- Here is a guide on how to ensure a consistent and safe track setup for the upcoming season in your G8X car being G80 M3, G82 M4, or G87 M2. I am going for a lapping and HPDE setup, where we are not going for times but to improve as a driver and get the most seat time safely and comfortably in the car.
Ideal wheel setup: 19x11 sqaure with 295/30/19 Continental ECFs
If I stay with my current 19x10 setup I’ll probably go with the GoodYear Eagle SuperCar3 tires in 285/35/19 all around.

Another tip is to remove the plastic break cooling duct covers inside the wheel arch. Most people have no idea they can do that. Super important for brake cooling. If you drive where it rains a lot you probably want to put them back on. I don’t drive my car in the rain so I leave them off all the time. Makes a huge difference to the brake cooling less change of boiling your brake fluid early too.
Yes great point! Idk how I forgot to add that! I do that everytime I go out on track. Definitely is worth the time to do. Thanks for watching!
Just be aware that if you set front -3 camber with any significant toe, it will cord the inner shoulder. I learned the hard way with brand new Cup 2. After that I keep toe at 0 front and back. Also front negative camber can be at like -3.5 even with street driving. Rear can go to about -2 or -2.2.
Also don’t forget to change diff oil and tranny fluid once per year. The diff can fail if fluid isn’t changed with track use.
I appreciate the future insight! I hear toe is the real killer not so much the camber. I will be changing both diff and tranny fluid as I said in the video. Thanks for the comment!
@@ferozmoto6766oh ok I missed that.
No worries I talk really fast sometimes lol
BTW In the front wheel well there are these brake duct covers you can remove when you’re on the track. I haven’t taken mine off yet but here’s the video I was sent from bmw. ruclips.net/video/g8f7WiWccPo/видео.htmlsi=iOPw9fhDEs-QSA8U
Great point! I do that every time I’ve been out on track. I should have mentioned it in the video. Thanks!
why is your clutch pedal so squeaky
No clue, getting it checked at tomorrow! Drives me crazy 🫥
