In this video I complained about issues with the Daytime and Nighttime version, but since I filmed this, a quick bug fix for that has been implemented! You can download the latest version of the Demo here:

    EDITS:
At 36:10 I say that King Edward VIII abdicated and his younger brother "King George V" became king. Sorry I misspoke, I meant to say his younger brother King George VI* ...I got confused because I was looking at that picture of their father King George V.

Alex, you're spot on about the wood paneling----the natural word looks much better that the white paint in the first-class dining room. Please put "History" in whenever you want. Thanks to Alex the Historian for another fine video...

I agree about the panelling but if you think that is bad, in the 1930s the grand staircase and associated landings on the Olympic were painted a horrendous green colour with gold accents. Eww. Just ewww.

I also prefer the natural wood grain than white-painted panelling. It's more classic and regal to me. When I visited 2nd class, I was shocked. It's looking so nice with all that wood grain and warm colours.

51:28 The "Black Gang" or Firemen only mingled with 3rd class men on the Forecastle deck. This was because only single, unmarried , unattached, men were bunked in the bow sections of the ship. Whereas 3rd class family men with wives and children were bunked in the aft sections and rarely, if ever, travelled any further forward than their dining saloon.

Alex, I am a 75 year old Titanic buff. In 1962 myself and a friend celebrated the 50th anniversary of the sinking. I've read almost every book about the Titanic. What I am disppointed about with all the Titanic videos is that they all neglect showing the three types of second class cabins. The ones in second class that could be used as first class alternatives; the regular cabins and the ones that can be used as third class alternatives. I hope that someones eventually shows them.

    • @AlextheHistorian

Greetings from Australia. I'm somewhat confused about the World map shown at the 27 minute mark in your video. Alaska is shown in the same colour as the USA, yet Alaska wasn't declared a state until January 1959. So, is the map wrong, or was it always proposed to become a state back then in 1912?

@@DerpyPossum i heard this in a documentary about Britannic in youtube i can't remember which was it but basically in 1914 when the rms aquitania and the german imperator class entered service (they had the full victorian era decorated pools with ridiculous decorations) first class passengers were complaining about the Olympic's (well Titanic was already gone at this point) bare bone swimming pool being very bad so White Star designed a very much revamped pool for Britannic (the ship was barely in construction this point) but since the ship was finished as a hospital ship and sank as one there is no evidence that the pool was ever finished (there were some months in 1916 when Britannic was returned from military service to White Star and they started refitting the ship to civilian service as intended but the ship was recall into service again before the refitting could be completed - there is a note from a nurse serving on the ship after refit who described the ship's pool being cozy and luxurios like first class itself so the completion of the pool's refit is maximum a maybe but it was definitely intended to be done by White Star Line)

Last and most important part of my research first class passengers were wealthiest on aboard and were mostly businessmen and politicians second class were often professors or authors while third class or steerage was made primarily immigrants all three classes were treated very differently when aboard during trip and after sinking most of second clad accommodation on titanic consisted of cabins with bunk beds each cabin either two or four in total there was room. Around 550 passengers second class facilities such as spacious outdoor promenade smoking room library dinning room their menu baked haddock in sharp sauce third class passengers locked blew deck were false third class passengers only three gave evidence in USA third class passengers menu eat vegetables soup rabbit pie most of passengers of titanic and crew members used public restrooms facilities third class passengers were 709 three quarter of them parishid many more died compared to first and second classes passengers were confined to their area of titanic and the entire family died including 19 months old Sidney Goodwin thank you for your great efforts giving us chance to read learn new information stay safe blessed iam so sorry to be little long but reading and writing both are great ways to improve our English language as as non native speakers iwish for your channel more success and progress good luck to you your dearest ones
