She never went on another ship after that experience and neither will I.
Re: comment: 👆Wow; that must have been an incredible experience to hear from a person who was on the ship & everything they went through esp; if you heard it in detail. Yikes!
I watch this weeping, with tears falling from my cheek. I’m 54 years old, this happened over a century ago, but because 17 of my family members died on many parts of the ship you can see in this video, even though I obviously never met them, They’re my blood, they are a part of me, and their story will haunt me my entire life. Let’s not lose sight of the shot that this is in fact, sacred ground, 1500 people‘s final resting place, and I believe it should be treated and respected as such. I understand peoples curiosity, in fact, I share it, at least to a degree. Yet every time I see a video of the mangled wreckage, a little piece of me is ripped away each time. 25 of my ancestors fled Ireland, looking to start a new and better life in Canada, to join my family members that were already here in Nova Scotia. Conditions in Ireland were horrific, so they sold everything they had, managing to gather enough money to buy 25 second class tickets. My family wasn’t poor, their decision to leave was more political, then out of necessity, but they also wanted to join the family here, in Canada, assuming the odds at a more prosperous life would be better. Of the seven survivors, they can remember watching their loved ones drown before their very eyes, unable to do anything about it as they fled for their lives. Most of them died just outside the bridge. They had made it up to the deck, but by that point, all the lifeboats were gone, eight of them created a makeshift raft out of deck chairs, tying them together with string and rope, and whatever else they could find, threw it in the water, jumped on it, and waited rescue. Luckily, for them, one of the first lifeboats to go out head, almost no one aboard, and this is where it gets controversial, but all 8 family members made written testimony, which I have seen, stating that the people aboard the lifeboats took them aboard, against the will of the officer, in charge of the lifeboats, fearing it would tip the boat over. Seven of them stood there in the lifeboats, soaking wet in 0° water, watching 17 of their dearest loved ones, go beneath the waves. In their deposition, it’s plainly written that all seven could see at least two of my family members, whom they assumed had already drowned, standing next to the bridge, as the ship went down. They were sucked in an open window by the pressure of the water before she went beneath the waves, that’s the last they ever saw of them. The trauma of the event didn’t just kill 17 people in my family, it traumatized every single generation of my family since then, myself included. So why do I watch?, So I can see for myself where are my loved ones passed away. There were no bodies to bury, not one of them was ever recovered, but in the Halifax cemetery, where there is a segment, dedicated to titanic passengers that perished, we have placed a monument in their honour with all their names on it. It’s funny, perhaps odd, Howell, and/or why I had such strong feelings towards people I never met, but I actually feel love towards them. Possibly because their genes are flowing through my veins, but watching this is like watching my own personal tragedy, and I relive it over and over in my nightmares ever since I was a child. Passing down the family history is very important to my family, especially given the enormity of this event, it just kills me every time I think about what it must’ve been like for them just before they died. They must’ve been absolutely terrified, and a feeling of complete helplessness. My apologies if some of what I said, doesn’t quite make sense, but when I get upset like this, it’s difficult to think straight. Just knowing 17 of my family are either somewhere in that ship, or were long ago, carried away by the ocean. Either way, thank you for the video, it allows me once again to have a little bit of closure, although truth be told, I don’t think I will ever get over it, it has been burned into my memory, as though I was there in person. I am one of the many that are here because of those seven family members that made a last ditch attempt for life, and it’s not easy having such a close connection to such a devastating, internationally known event. Even if I wanted to put it behind me and forget about it, I can’t, everywhere I look, there’s videos about it, books about it, shows about it, it’s a part of a culture. I am proud of the seven people, that against all odds survived with their ingenuity, I just wish so badly the remaining 17 didn’t have the chance to do the same, unfortunately, they were in different areas of the ship, and during all the chaos, they only saw each other in time to see most of them consumed by the flood water pouring in from all sides as they ran for their lives. Many of them have stated that they wish they would’ve stayed, because the survivors guilt they felt was worse than dying. Please, never forget that so many people died, that this is not just a shipwreck, this is holy ground. Thank you, if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer, God bless.
I can see why it is still haunting for you. As I read your post it was haunting for me as well. I'm sorry for the loss of your many family members and one day I hope you find peace and comfort knowing they rest in all of God's glory
This is excellent. Thank you for sourcing the best bits from Titanic Archive Project and making this epic video. Something we tend to forget, but what this reminds us is Titanic is still a ship and is only a few miles away. It still looks like a ship and still has rooms with interiors that are recognizable. It hasn’t disappeared. As another RUclipsr (Brugger Films) recently said: Titanic is the last survivor of her own disaster.

Looking at these after photos breaks my heart. This is very much a graveyard literally and metaphorically. Years ago a cake company created a table length replica of the Titanic. The bow was the ship upon launch while the stern was the wreck. It was a flawless transition creating a stunning piece.
I went to two Titanic exhibits in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was exciting yet so sad to look at a child's marbles and one of his little shoes. It really put me in a trance back in time.
Nice video, i enjoyed it a lot. I wanna point out that the window seen at 7:03 is actually one of the first class entrance windows on the port side. It is not a gymnasium window, but i know it is incorrectly labeled as gymnasium window on some sites. Keep up the good work.
I understand that it’s now nearly impossible to raise the titanic without it falling apart but maybe they should try to remove and save as many fixtures, objects etc from inside the ship as possible while they still can. It’s remarkable that those objects have stood the test of time so deep under the ocean

@@wellbeing6198 Idgaf, the families still remain, it's not fair to their memories to do that. There would be a worldwide controversy if they took artifacts and items, they couldn't even take a part of the ship without angering the families.
My favorite items on the ship were the chandelier in the center of the first class lounge ceiling, the electric candelabra at the base of the stairs leading into the lounge off the dining room, the oval mirror inserts in the paneling of the first class restaurant, the decorative floors (linoleum I suppose) in the first class foyer and the main dining room, and the stateroom that looks like it’s done in British Arts and Crafts style. Interesting to note that if Titanic hadn’t sunk and survived into the 1920s (like the Olympic) the decor would have been considered dated in the Art Deco era. People today are surprised that only some of the first class cabins had private bathrooms but ocean liners were constantly evolving at the time and it seemed that each year a new ship came out that was supposedly better than the existing ships. By the 1950s, when crossing the ocean by ship was still in vogue, liners like Andrea Doria (another ill-fated one) had features like colorful children’s playrooms, surrealist printed curtains, and espresso machines at the bars -
It's in very severe condition it doesn't have much longer to go till it's gone forever, in probably 50 years it will be unrecognizable eventually the outer structure will crumble and the ship will be a heap of scrap lying in a pile then in due time all that will be there is a rust stain on the ocean floor.
@@josephbennett3482 As is the case with any shipwreck, Ballard suggested coating her with something to kill the rusticles and preserve her as best as possible, until someone actually does that there's nothing we can do about it. If nothing else she's been well-documented!
This is an incredible project/video to see how the titanic itself is & has deteriorated. It’s really something to see! Hard to comprehend what your eyes are looking at. And I’ve seen some of the comments here about how unbelievable scared the people must have been when or if they really realized they were going to perish here on the ship. Plus the terror that those who watched it break apart from their tiny little boats. I went through a unique museum in my city when the titanic boat was sorta re-created, that was really interesting in itself! Wow! I wouldn’t want to be on a cruise ship either after the experiences some people have experienced & I’m not referring to the titanic. Too darn frightening for me.
Thanks to the internet and humans attention spans now being less than 10 seconds, we will never have the intelligence, patience, or creativity to make another work of art like this.
19:00 Actually the captains bath tub is not visible anymore I think. We have to consider that these images are mostly 38 years old actually so the ship has degraded much more since then.
Just stayed at the Queen Mary in Long Beach after a long closure. Watched the movie with the wife just to complete the mood. Obviously not the same but much of the feel of how it was to be on such a ship was felt in spades. So happy the font I used for my Bioshock tatoos matched what was used on the ship and I hadn’t a clue. So much of the ships interior reminded me of that game. I digress. Anyways thanks for the well exposited details on the changes and other info.
Most of these interior pictures, the 99% actually, belong to the Olympic. Basically because the Titanic sank in her maiden voyage and therefore there was not enough time to take pictures. That’s why they have used the images from the PC program Titanic Honor and Glory, where you can appreciate that the glass panels of the first class dinning room entrance were much bigger in the Titanic than in the Olympic.
Yes. I heard that as well. It is unfortunate photos were not taken as they are now. But I also understand cameras were not instant shot or cellphones.. 😑 But we have some idea of how beautiful she was. 😉
@@tessaducek5601 Yes, MRS Titanic and MRS Olympic were virtually the same ship. There were some minor differences like the luxury cabins on B deck (I think they were on B deck) and the orientation of the entrance door on D deck. But the most outstanding areas like the main staircase, the first class dining room (except for the glass panels), the smoking room, the restaurant, etc, were exactly the same. Even the tiles on the floor were exactly the same and had the same patterns and design. When the Titanic sank the Olympic was remodeled so as to look even more similar to the Titanic. Le Café Parisienne was added and so were the luxury cabins on B or C deck. The few real pictures that we have were taken by journalists before the journey. In fact there is one single picture of the Titanic first class dining room, very poor quality, and it shows that its dinning room was exactly the same as the Olympic. There is another one in the gym and another in the swimming pool. Most of the films with the photos that were taken during the voyage would be left behind and consequently lost during the evacuation and sinking of the ship.
It amazes me how few people know of Titanic's predecessor the SS Atlantic. Because she literally ran into the Nova Scotia shoreline, at Lower Prospect NS, a lot of historical items can be seen in one place, the local museum. Titanic artifacts are scattered around the world with a good concentration in Ireland and Halifax NS. The SS Atlantic was a luxury White Star Line Steamship that ran aground on April 1st 1873. The majority of the dead are buried in the area where they died and Protestant (Anglican) burials were conducted by Reverend William Ancient. How cool is that!
This made me cry, because it didn't matter how rich you were on the Titanic or the diamonds you owned, the people who held on last were headed to the same fate .... A 3rd class passenger with my last name from Germany possibly my kin perrished on the Titanic

@the Game, Review and Reallife Channel Life quality back than was much worse for the most people. The smell of the people and the fact that you needed to wear a hat b.c. hairwashing was not a thing that someone did on a daily base is just urggh.
@the Game, Review and Reallife Channel bro this was a time before civil rights and long before they started restricting led in paint. I think that almost everyone from that time period would rather live now, with our internet, advanced shop building and lack of carcinogens in our wallpaper.
@@NoisyBones I appreciate this very much. Not alot of people know this history
True, but very little thought to safety.
@@terrybardy2848 Totaly wrong. Very much time went into the safety of the Titanic and she was safer / stronger than most other ships around. The night of the sinking was very special. Her sistership olympic is the only oceanliner that ever sunk a u-boot by ramming it and multiple accidents that she was involved too, proove how well designed she was. More lifeboats wouldn't have saved anyone b.c. there was not enough time to lower them. If you do some research, than you wil learn that most people that went into a life boats at that era, died b.c. the see was not smooth like it was as the titanic sank.
All my life I had a fascination with the Titanic, back in 1996 when there were 3 Cruse Ships that went to the sight of the Titanic when there were Artifacts being brought up I was on the Cruse Ship "The Royal Majesty" and saw a big piece of the Bulkhead being raised out of the water. This was a great time in my life I never will forget !
Wow u are so lucky ❤, btw what do u mean by bulkhead? Watertight bulkhead or that big piece artifact?
@@YasaIsuruOfficial ----- "BulkHead is the name used for the walls of a ship and being watertight means that no water would get into that compartment if all the hatches were closed tight. it's amazing that after more then a 100 yrs the gold inlays on the furniture and fixtures still shines.
It’s completely amazing what an incredible work of art the Titanic was.. beautiful craftsmanship and materials… such an art form! ❤️
Titanic...The ship that's has always drew me to it for some reason...The lore...The tragedy...What is it about the thing thats so alluring...
Think it got me in about 1960 when I saw the first movie..I was about 6...64 yes ago..😢
These images are SO creepy! It's amazing how many things are still intact. I had the privilege to have visited a Titanic exhibit when it came to our area. It was so moving, it brought me to tears time & again that day: recordings of survivors recalling all of the tragedy, seeing passengers' belongings, etc. The creme de le creme was there was an acutal piece of the side of the ship there; SO eerily incredible! (I was really surprised of how small the portholes were) If you hever get the chance to see one of these exhibits or museums...GO! You will not be disappointed. May all of the souls who lost their lives that fateful day rest in peace.
In 1967 a the age of 3 years old I met one of the Titanic Survivors in my old old old neighbourhood and she told me the horrible story of the sinking of this ship and have never gone on an ocean cruise and after hearing that story I will never go on an ocean cruise like she said she did. She never went on another ship after that experience and neither will I.
I don't blame her.
Re: comment: 👆Wow; that must have been an incredible experience to hear from a person who was on the ship & everything they went through esp; if you heard it in detail. Yikes!
I just got off a cruise last month. If hasn’t stopped me from cruising
Don't worry you can breathe here and congratulations on saving 250k dollars!

I have seen many documentaries on TITANICS artifacts but this by far is over the top.
The craftsmanship is unbelievable on it. Wish I could see how it was back in the day
Thank you for this tour of the Titanic! 🚢 The music 🎶 was quite elegant and well suited for this video. You've really brought out the opulence and the elegance of this shipwreck with the before and after photos! I'm glad you're taking a break after all of your hard work! You deserve it! Bravo!!!❤️👏👏👏
The two stills of rooms are truly incredible, highly defines but would’ve loved to view them a little longer. Long awaited seeing those images and haven’t seen them anywhere before. Thanks!

I don't need to be a billionaire when RUclips is my friend.
I guess in some ways the Titanic truly was unsinkable. I would love it if they could try to bring one of the light fixtures, beds, futon from the bathrooms for the museums. It’s still beautiful to this day.
Yes!
Today's cruise ships may be much bigger, but they'll never compare to the beauty and elegance of the ocean liners like Titanic.
Re: comment: 👆Now that’s so true!
I doubt you could get the same standard of work done these days. There may be craftsmen capable of it, but you'd have a job finding them.

Why this so hauntingly beautiful
I'm south african and was on vacation in America 1997 when Titanic was shown. It left an impact on me. I just love watching these clips of Titanic esp the music. It makes me sad every time I watch it. But I love it. Also feel sad for those passengers that lost their lives. Also the 5 that died on the titan that risked their lives to see only the wreck. May their dear souls RIP. Blessings and greetings from South Africa. 🙌🕊️😘♥️🙏🌹🕊️🕯️
Thank you for your hard work and sharing Titanic's beauty with us.
I really enjoyed all the attention to detail. It made the Titanic really come to life for me.
Looking at these after photos breaks my heart. This is very much a graveyard literally and metaphorically. Years ago a cake company created a table length replica of the Titanic. The bow was the ship upon launch while the stern was the wreck. It was a flawless transition creating a stunning piece.
A work of intellectual prowess... beautiful ship.
I went to two Titanic exhibits in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was exciting yet so sad to look at a child's marbles and one of his little shoes. It really put me in a trance back in time.
Fascinating and eerie all at the same time. Great video!
Thank you for sharing this with the world she was an amazing ship almost gone soon all she will be is a memory
This is soo well done, great stuff, Thanks!
Nice video, i enjoyed it a lot. I wanna point out that the window seen at 7:03 is actually one of the first class entrance windows on the port side. It is not a gymnasium window, but i know it is incorrectly labeled as gymnasium window on some sites. Keep up the good work.
It’s so nice to have explanations of what we are seeing, and the before pictures really put into perspective. Thank you for a great presentation.
I understand that it’s now nearly impossible to raise the titanic without it falling apart but maybe they should try to remove and save as many fixtures, objects etc from inside the ship as possible while they still can. It’s remarkable that those objects have stood the test of time so deep under the ocean
You realize that's just glorified grave robbing? That's the resting place of over 1500 lost souls, I hope you people never touch it and leave it be. That's ultimate disrespect.
@@revolutionisherewhat do you think about people going in to the pyramids? People have been taking from the pyramids for a long time but they are buriel sites whereas the Titanic isn't so it's not stealing from the dead, the dead didn't own any of the decor. It's not a buriel site it was a tragic accident where sadly over 15,000 people died so going down there Is not grave robbing.
@@revolutionisherethe bodies are no more, all are gone in the ocean forever. There is practically the ship and valuable things should be retrieved and put on museums of the future
@@Angie-jm8kp The pyramids are thousands of years old you dumb fool. The victims of Titanic's sinking still have living relatives and family. That is not the same thing, one is grave robbing, the other is archeology. When Titanic gets to that point, it's fair game but until then, the historical memory of that tragic night is too recent.
@@wellbeing6198 Idgaf, the families still remain, it's not fair to their memories to do that. There would be a worldwide controversy if they took artifacts and items, they couldn't even take a part of the ship without angering the families.
That's incredible!! Thank you for putting this together!! I'm sure it wasn't easy!!
It was A Beautiful Ship!! 😢
This is wonderful I love learning about the Titanic thankyou
Another great video ship enthusiast Long live the Olympic class liners RMS Britannic 1914 being my favorite ship that ship was robbed
Saying "long live" is cringe
By the 1950s, when crossing the ocean by ship was still in vogue, liners like Andrea Doria (another ill-fated one) had features like colorful children’s playrooms, surrealist printed curtains, and espresso machines at the bars -
unbeleivable how much of it remains almost intact after 100 years on the sea floor, let alone the traumatic sinking

What a wonderful presentation! Truly fascinating to see before and after scenes. Also very sobering.Thank you.
Thank you for explaining the wreck bit by bit! such a tragedy and a beautiful ship!

Excellent video of the interior of the Titanic. I am suprised that anything still remains intact inside the ship.
This was so great, thank you.
You did an AMAZING job with this video!
But we have some idea of how beautiful she was.
The only thing cool for those folks was the Atlantic
Great video! All the documentaries don't even go into as much detail.
Absolutely superb documentary!
Your commentary is excellent.
The two tripl expansion engins still completely intact it feels really spooky

Since the grand staircase wasn't attached to the ship, and no remnants of it were found in the ship, experts think it floated up and out.
