That’s awesome! I hate that I missed the pork skins! Did you ever make it up to Skylight Inn in NC? I made a video of that one after visiting Scott’s. They mix the crispy pork skins in with the pulled pork. It was unbelievable good. Appreciate the comment!
@@Mayrose587 Nice! You’re in BBQ country! Skylight Inn is in Ayden, on the east side of the state. We went to Haywood BBQ over by Asheville as well, but to be honest with you, I liked Skylight Inn better. If you go, let me know what you think!
Thank you! We do a lot of service projects in the community, several of which have included BBQ, so we started this BBQ tour as something fun to do as a family. Good times! Subscribe if you do such things and thank you for the comment and the kind words! 🙏🏻
Take a trip to Zeb Dean's BBQ in Danielsville, GA - thank me later - best stew in the world. Then, go to a little roadside stand called White's BBQ in Elberton, GA - cheapest BBQ anywhere and the meat is fantastic! On White's though, they open at 11 on Saturday and only stay open until they run out and this past Saturday they sold out at 2. Eat in at Zeb's, eat at a picnic table at White's.
@letsdomoregood if you can I highly recommend it. Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket (spelling ?). All beautiful in their own way. There is Vice in certain areas but you do not have to go there. Beached are beautiful and you can get a legitimate massage for $5-7 USD , food is cheap like Pad Thai which can be ordered for $1 USD and it is great. Lastly the people are kind & tolerate of all people unlike here in the USA.
@@Trumpetmaster77 Nice! That’s cool that you’ve been there before. Do you live in Texas? For some reason I was thinking that. That would be quite the drive. Yes, great BBQ and great people!

It's decent at best. Sides are WAY to small, the folks running it now are not friendly, guess that's why Little Rodney left and went to Charleston, and that place is on TIME!
I have given up on BBQ. I like pulled pork sandwich. They used to be chunks od pork. Now it is shreaded. I think it is left over pork and they rehydrated it with water. It tasted terrible. No flavor or fat. Old watery left over BBQ!
Check out my video on the best BBQ in North Carolina! You can see the process. It’s still chopped, but it wasn’t leftover rehydrated BBQ. They added crispy bits of skin as well, which really made a difference. They also added the cheek meats of the head to get more fat. Do you like beef BBQ?
@@Gamecocks101 Oh man, if I’d have known that, I would have tried Big D’s! Thanks for sharing. Agree, you can’t beat home BBQ done right. Do you do it the same style, with a cinder block pit?
@@letsdomoregood Most do block fire pits and some do propane with cedar chips or some other form of woods. The BBQ how its cooked isn't what makes it special; its the sauce. But, that pecan/hickory smoke does make it savory.
@@Gamecocks101 It is absolutely how it is cooked, but a good vinegar base sauce does tie it in an enhance the bbq. Whole hog bbq, the original bbq where it started in the lowcountry of sc.
I was a weekly regular at Scott's when I was working for a company that had a manufacturing plant in Hemingway. The pork skins will change your life.
