Thank you for making these videos! I'm just starting my iris collection. I started gardening with my grandmother and I still have some of her historic iris!

William, sorry for the delay in replying, I do not check this very often. You are welcome. I got my love of iris from my father. I have hostorics back to the 1600s.

Great video. I've been interested in using iris in larger pots for visual interest. In the past when I've receive a smaller rhizome, I'll pot them up. Then I don't loose track of it (due to it's small size) and they can grow a bit before adding it to the landscape. Thank you for the new ideas on iris in the landscape.

The dish detergent works as a surfactant which helps with the blending of the mixture and increases the spreading and wetting properties of the mixture. I use a few drops of dish detergent when making my neem oil mixtures.

About the lady mentioned the snakes... I have had a black snake try to hibernate around my potted daylilies outside. It is unnerving for sure.

Michael, I tolerate the black snakes but in general not a fan of snakes.

Can you grow iris on a porch?

Barbara, the challenge would be making sure they get enough sunlight, at least 6-8 hours a day. More is better!
