    Does Victory not have an app where you can swap the various options and see what it will look like? With that many options it seems like a must have!

      They do, go to the victory website, go to the amps tab, MK Family. Then get customising! I have spent the afternoon making up some custom MK Cleans 🤤 Then I remembered I can't afford one 😂 My V140 does me just fine and is a fantastic amp I'm it's own right, I just kinda wish I could flip the reverb tank in the V140, cause the reverb in the MK sounds Fantastic orientated that way 🎸

    Nice sounding amp. I wonder what the difference is between the MK Clean & say the Super Duchess? I have the normal V40 Duchess, and really like it as my loud clean Fender-style amp. But I'm not playing those bigger gigs that would call for more clean headroom. But I think I hear at least some of the same amp family clean tone. Pure, solid, clean, dynamic and articulate on the attack but smooth on the sustain. These Victory clean amps are very responsive to different guitar and pedal tones. Whereas, my Marshall JTM tends to imprint all drives/fuzzes tones with a JTM-ey flavour (plump, warm, vocal, slightly fuzzy around the deep bass and high treble edges). Which I do like, but it's no Chameleon.

    Chris Buck has been my favourite guitar of the last several years and I cannot get enough of cardinal blacks album. That was until he says he’s an arsenal fan. What a shame

    If nothings else, Rock & Roll is about bucking senseless, oppressive traditions. That includes the foolish superstition about green being unlucky. I think it looks great and it would inspire me every time I see it. Consider who came up with these superstitions, and why. A standard or inverted blond/oxblood might be cool, too. Bright colors might even be nice. Maybe the Gulf Porsche baby blue & orange? Soichiro Honda wasn't afraid to wear bright colors. Look what he created.

      I guess that's why most rockers buy reissues and relics or humongously expensive originals of the guitars and amps everybody used since the 50s. Real progressive bunch.😂

    • @GCKelloch
      @GCKelloch 3 месяца назад

      @@GertvanderDoes Yeah, and I'm skeptical of what justifies the ~$5k price tag, other than the hype that can make some players with some money think they hear something "magical" that can only be had with NOS parts (which were notoriously unreliable and off spec). More often than not, what is actually different is the higher Carbon comp resistor noise and/or transformer hum, which doesn't cost any more to recreate with modern parts. Careful attention to soldering and wire placement are important, but not for $5K. The profit margin must be insane. Still, nowhere near as greedy as that BS artist HD was.
      Just reading the construction method on the Victory site. Au-plated connectors are actually inferior to Ni-plated. The increased conductivity of Au is irrelevant compared to tube plate resistance, but it does wear quicker -- not the best choice for tube sockets. The Brass underneath is still conductive, but can grab and break, tube pins when the Au wears off. I had an old Brass guitar cable connector break an A/I unit jack when pulled out.
      Having custom transformers made can be a big upfront investment, but Demeter only specifies sets of 5 pricing made to customer specs, so nope. Not a big investment there, and very reasonably priced as well.
      Looks like Rubycon Aluminum Electrolytic caps in the PS section. Those are at least $5 ea and well worth the cost for reliability. Every amp should use quality metal PS caps, but they don't. Leaky PS caps can destroy an amp.

    When are Victory going to do this as a V4 pedal amp?????

    • @dividedbytimestudios
      @dividedbytimestudios 3 месяца назад +1

      If the Guys at Victory are smart they are probably revamping all the V4 preamp pedals right now and adding an IR on the back end for anyone who wants the “Iridium” style pedal

      They already have an out.
      The point is that it’s analog.
      They should put at least the 6 option cab sim, to use going out. They sell these modelers on having so many amp options, but when I find the amp I like, it’s the only one I play, unless I’m going stereo.
      I agree, just go ahead and put the IR too, like Friedman did, and I think the Volt might have.
      For a Victory quality amp, with the IR, even just a three option one, would make it worth the extra money.
      The best modeled tone, that I’ve ever heard, is using a DI cab sim out, on a tube amp.
      The Evmater Rebel, which is a great sounding amp, with a lot of options, but isn’t built very well, has a DI cab sim out, and it sounded best to 20 people in the store, where I talked the owner into doing an A/B, with the Iridium, Walrus ACS1, Friedman IR X, a Helix, a Quad Cortex and the Boss Katana.
      All 20 of us, thought it was obviously better, and it wasn’t really close.
      Both through headphones, going through pro tools, or through a cab, and even through a powered speaker.
      The cab sim, that has an actual combo amp’s pre and power section as the tone, was just better. That amp also has a voicing knob, to go from Fender to Marshall tones. It works really well too.
      Yet, the PCB boards are junk, just like with the Marshall DSL40C, that sounds great, and can do so many tones, but will just shut down randomly, and costs too much to fix.

      All amps, over a certain price, should all have at least a cab sim out. It’s not that expensive to do, and they work great.
