Ow Do Sam, great video and its clear you had the mutual respect with these particular lads, i dont know Mr Doyle personally but i have worked with a lad from lower broughton who did know him and his brother well. If you read the books by Tony Oneill about the Man utd exploits of tbe 80's and 90's Mr Doyle features a fair bit. Being a big utd fan of this period it is fascinating to learn about these characters.
Please do try and get Mr Doyle on the channel Sam, it would be great to see you both re united, i did hear he might be doing a piece with another youtube channel soon too, James English? with him being a real part of Salford history this would be brilliant to watch. Best wishes to you 👍🙏

Really interesting one this Sam, I think its easy these days to get swept up in what the news/media present and even worse what people comment based upon what they've read. I think, especially with prisoners, its very leading to vilify people who can't really speak up for themselves as a result of the position they find themselves in.

Bb Said ...no it doesn't mean the same thing in each prison, in one jail A wing might be remand wing, in another prison A wing might be used for vulnerable prisoners or drug free wing etc...its different in every prison and is just used as a way of identifying different parts of the establishment..purely logistical...not all prisons even use the lettering system...some have wings with other names instead...wings named after rivers, or people or places etc...its just like an adress within the prison

@@beakofthesouth2666 💯. For example G wing in one prison, was really a standard normal wing, however, in another prison, it is a VP wing, its down to individual prisons and how and where they place the wings and prisoners.

Sam, great show fella, your the soundest kanga I've ever come across, and I mean that sincerely. We would never talk to an officer, ever, unless you needed something important. But my pal from Salford has been in 18 years, after getting 3.5 years I.P.P, he's mum & Dad & brother have sadly died, since his sentence started, he's up for parole at the end off the month, but there's times when he calls me and I have to talk him out of topping himself! It rip's me heart out, when you hear ya pal talking about going out that way, he's in Grisly at the moment, but do you know anything about what the Government is planning on doing, in regards to I.P.P prisoners? Anything to keep he"s chin-up would be a great help fella, hope the channel goes from strength to strength, and all the best to you and yours.

Good video. The medical wing what an experience that is as a con who doesn’t have a mental issue. In the green if the screws didn’t think you needed a beating down the block, you goto medical wing isolation and if you were seen to be sound in the mind you could come out of isolation. All the screws in the block and medical wing were hard as feck. So out and mixing with the other on the wing. As in the video, you come across assorts of folk, in the 80’s I met guys with pinned and cought AIDS, nice lads to talk and explained How they fought it and other ways to catch it. The one guy I spoke to ( in gym, which is a a bit like your living room with a weights in it) changed my views that day on folk with problems. Boss may have told you guy in one of his videos about the types of screws in prison? I kept getting setup by a screw so I threatened to kill him and that I was watching him (you get those types prison officers back then). Because I was respectful to the nice screws, I heard one of them as I went down the stair of the block, “not him, he’s a nice guy” so that’s how I ended up on the medical wing.
