    Hey y'all! As was pointed out, at the start of each round there should be one random card placed in each development area to kick start the offering. Mike is going to go out on a limb and say that if he'd remembered to do that, he would have crushed Nick by 50 points.

    I believe a duchy is something you pass upon the left hand side.

    During the first turn each round, you put a random card on each side, before placing your own cards down. The offering areas don't start empty

    I've played a ton of Wonderful World, so definitely looking forward to trying this out.
    Some advice for Mike: it's really important to make sure your early production has a card to go on instead of being converted 5:1. I think where you went wrong was recycling the Infernal Gate round 2, leaving you with 5 blue production and no card to build with it.

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I realized that a little after I’d dumped the card. Shoulda Mathed it out better. Next time. I always tell myself that. Next time.

    Really fun playthrough to watch. it's also more interesting to watch then it's a wonderful world and it's for the fact that we can see the cards you choose in the draft phase. I don't know how that impact the game play but for a viewer, it make me more engaged in the video.

      Ha! That's a really good point. I guess drafting games probably aren't the best for viewing purposes

    Such a run for the money. Those calamities are crazy detrimental for VPs.

    This game is great. I love it solo. What other modules have you played? Which do you like?

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад +1

      We played the advisors (can’t remember if that’s the actual term) module and really dig that as well. Just haven’t played the menaces one with all the monsters and such

    Looking at Mike's cards he got 8 positive points, so lost by 1 :)

    I would like to see you play Fleet the Dice game or Three Sisters (similar mechanics). The combination explosions that happen in those games are very satisfying.

      We love fleet and really want to try three sisters so if we come across that one we’d def do a play!

    I was not feeling this game hard… because of the terms they used like warring kingdoms and traps. We were afraid it was going to be tear each other down mean but this looks great!
    Also Mike only lost by one because he had 2 of the score purple cards giving him 8 for purple not 4. I’m sure you guys will be too busy to play a game at GenCon but I’ll try at least to find you Bros to say hey, thanks for the content, and giveaway game! Maybe give a fist bump.

      Come by the Lucky Duck Games booth (#157) from 2-4pm on Thursday to play games with the Bros!

      Good catch on my score!! And yeah it can be tricky with how you distribute your cards for the offers but it’s not a blow each other up game which suits us much better as well

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад +1

      Indeed come hang with us! We’ll play some games and I might even get my score right this time!

    If in the last round Mike had taken the 2 calamity cards stack to prevent Nick from fulfilling the quest would he win if he ended up with a negative score?

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад

      I do think so. It’d be a sad victory but victory all the same!

  • @shinjial

    Gotta say, the shelf right behind Nick's head with all the small box games kinda jammed in there, crooked and stuff, was so hilariously distracting. I didn't catch it until halfway through the game, but then every time that camera angle came on it was all I could see.
    Pretty good game, though. I play the original one like Mike did this one. I'm pretty much lost the whole game and not surprised at all when I lose. This one was very low scoring though, specially considering the effort put into it. Is this the way it normally goes? The I split you choose makes the drafting part much better than the original, it seems to me.

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад

      I imagine many folks score much higher than us we are just generally pretty mediocre board gamers haha agreed on the I split you choose is a super fun way to go about it. Really dig it.

    I love It's a Wonderful World. It's a real thinky engine building puzzle. I think it's quite hard. This game at it's core is the same, but the puzzle IMO is too difficult to include that much of a take that feeling in regards to the calamities. It is really short, which helps but I'd rather play World at 2 players, personally.

    • @TheBrothersMurph
      @TheBrothersMurph  2 года назад +1

      Respect respect. Yeah this one having a be a two player game with the I split you choose mechanism makes it much more head to head and potentially confrontational. I wonder if you could play without the calamities if you wanted to make it just a bit easier on yourselves and instead refocus the game to make it about who can build the biggest quickest engine. And in the meantime it’s a wonderful world works great at two player! We have that and love it as well

    • @LinneasCabal
      @LinneasCabal 2 года назад +2

      @@TheBrothersMurph Me and my partner actually did play without the Calamities for this very reason. It definitely helped us. I know its not exactly as it was "meant" to be played, but it upped our enjoyment of it. No shame.

      Happy to hear that you've tried it a different way and found it more fun for you! IMO as long as you're enjoying the game, you're doing it right 🙂

    Interesting game! I don' think the quest module was that interesting tbh. I love games with engines but 4 rounds seems shortto really get going, but I was surprised how much stuff could still be produced in that time. Anymore rounds might be too long tho.
