I’m still playing Classic (Vanilla) WoW and have been steadily since September 2019 when it was released. In fact, I’ve recently created a new character. My (rhetorical) question is: why **wouldn’t** someone want to play it now?! It’s a great game, and there’s no hurry to rush to 60. I have three 60s and a couple of lower-level characters, but I love taking my time and enjoying the game with each character because I know that I don’t have to “keep up” with anything, nor do I have to worry that some silly expansion is coming that will make my hard-earned gear obsolete overnight. It’s s great game!
Same. The pacing in vanilla is perfect to me. Doing all 5 professions kind of ties in with the questing and it's actually useful. Every little bit of new gear with +1 stats is a good improvement. I'm playing with a group of friends as a 5-man party, we all chose different professions and sure we've been playing for hours only to reach like level 14 but it's the most fun I've had in MMO for years. TBC already ruined the magic of WoW.

I quit WoW more than five years ago, but sometimes I feel tempted to go back. After all, I played it for 14 years of my life growing up. But I know that if I did, it wouldn't be the same. You can only grow up once, and the people and everything that made WoW the world I knew are no longer there. WoW was more than just a game. It was a portal to socialization, fun, memories, new friendships, challenging content, community-driven PvP events, and so much more. But I also know that if I went back, I would be chasing something that is gone forever. The WoW I loved is no longer there, and I would just be setting myself up for disappointment. So, instead, I choose to cherish the memories I have of WoW. I remember the late nights spent raiding with my friends, the excitement of new expansions, and the feeling of accomplishment after clearing a difficult challenge. I know that I can never go back to the WoW of my childhood, but I'm grateful for the time I had with it. It was a special experience that I will never forget.
@Factsfun-kg4xc I just came back and seeing my old character with the quel delar sword I was like fuck yeah let's go back came to my server and it was dead quiet the ui is a mess and it felt like almost hollow idk I might try classic but it definitely felt just so different from what I remember. I've been enjoying the private server project ascension
I can happily say I've picked classic up again and had to make a new toon because I didn't play when they moved the toons to TBC. I've been online in the middle of the night (1am-8am) since coming back and have made several friends and have had no issues in finding groups to take down objectives. It feels so much more down to earth and people are generally more invested I personally feel. You can see (Most) people running around past 40 and appreciate their struggle to get to where you are as well and share those stories when you come across a new stranger. Obviously its not a perfect game but its something that's able to make me smile and give me moments of excitement that I just don't get in a lot of modernized games. So thank you to all who play classic with the mindset of a gamer logging into a world and being open to whatever or whomever crosses your path, I hope you find as much joy in this escape as I have.
Yeah because u can actually meet people along the way that talk and help etc, that’s what made WoW vanilla so special was community. HC WoW is like vanilla except much much much less people.
I’m not into HC myself, but I can certainly understand the attraction for many folks. Either way, it’s good to see so many people coming “back home” to the original and best WoW game.

I think HC Classic is more loyal to the old game feeling, it's not about rushing to max lvl, minmaxing, playing with optimal spec, class or anything. Only goal is to survive to 60. I enjoy it much more than the endgame rush to raiding.
I'd argue hc forces you to optimize some, but in a way where you engage with content like alchemy and stuff during the leveling proccess, not just grind it all at endgame when it's meaningless
@@josedavidmunozmartinez4722 HC is more about the leveling experience. Most people who play sign up for losing characters randomly -- that's the nature of the challenge. "the hardcore challenge" is complete when you hit 60 -- what players do afterwards is up to them. I don't think it's going away anytime soon. You can look at the community challenge version for proof of that.
I’ve been enjoying hardcore a lot. It brings back that sense of fear that you haven’t had since OG vanilla. The world is dangerous and you are just moving through it.

Im a new player, playing Wow classic HC. I understand why some pro's may not see the point to it, however as someone who doesn't know what I don't know, getting caught off guard by strange mechanics or irregular mob behaviour is incredibly fun. Most fun in a PVE i've had.
I believe classic WoW is absolutely the best thing and have very high hopes classic+ is in the works. It feels like a no brainer. Much like OSRS and RS3.
@@JAZ_2002 I definitely agree. I can’t see the majority liking the idea of essentially replaying the game expansion by expansion. At some point it just feels meaningless and not something stable for the MMO player. A consistent and stable classic ecosystem with updates to content like Old School RuneScape would be ideal. 👌
Started playing 3 weeks ago on Classic Era, its so good. I havent expected this many players in all zones... Its so easy to get a group for a low level dungeon.. Last time i played WoW i rushed all that because i started in TBC, its great to be able to play it again with the propper gear and level. Its super interesting. There are many QOL features that would be great, hopefully they do something about it.
I would highly recommend Classic HC, even for new players. I’m a noob and I’m having a blast on it. I don’t even mind starting over agin sometimes. But even if you do, you can just transfer to a vanilla server and keep playing, so I definitely recommend at least starting on a HC server. It’s so social and fun. I also really hope classic+ is on the way, I don’t like that everything after vanilla made most of the world irrelevant. They need more zones, quests, dungeons etc that coexist with the game world, so more early and mid level content, think horizontal expansion instead of vertical only
If you're willing to come in to Classic and give it an honest shot, it can still be fun. If you want to recreate 2004-2008, then you're going to be nothing but disappointed. It's not, nor can it be, anything like what it was back then.

If you want to play "classic" WoW, pre-TBC and Wrath, it is probably still a better experience on a private server where the server hosts actually care. And yes there is a "best" one, but it is close to capacity a lot of the time and technically it is beyond "classic" because of all the QoL features they added in addition to playable content not in Blizzard WoW.
@@skidm0almost any server my dude. For example while Activision was catering to bots and cheaters servers like turtle wow added new raids and dungeons and new quests to the game, full servers, people playing its outstanding.
I remember the time in a big raid, usually I am a tanking battle paladin, but our main healer went down, and the mages were on HP fumes. We won the raid purely because as a Paladin, I had healing powers and a big-ass hammer.

Ok, here's a question that I couldn't find an answer for online: how often does a new expansion come to WoW Classic? I want to relive them all and this seems like a great way to do it, but how long will it take before WoW Classic is up to, let's just say, Dragonflight? Have the expansions been coming out at regular intervals?

If I absolutely hate one thing in my life, it’s definitely the fact that since I grew up, WoW was not that popular to where I’m coming from and based on this factor, I managed to get in touch with this universe quite late, more exacting when MOP got released. But ever since I played this game I always went on a solo journey as I have 0 contacts whatsoever. I have never been part of a guild for more than 1-2 months as I was always quitting due to limitations such as not finding people for raids and so on. Now I have decided to give it another try, on the Vanilla server, potentially finding a decent guild and finally to enjoy the game as I should’ve done it since MOP.
So I just started playing wow about 1 week ago and started with classic. I saw the hardcore stuff on twitch and it made me want to give it a try. I made a warrior and have gotten to level 25. It feels brutally slow. Should I make the switch to wotlk and try that out? I would love to find some people to play with but I'm not sure they would want someone who had never played before.
Lots of other new players or old players returning that take it slow. Wrath leveling is much faster, because the new talents are very powerful right from the start.
No the elitest jerks who refused to take ppl to raids unless u were top 1% killed wow. GDKPs were first type of runs to not discriminate No logs no problem is their motto

playing hardcore just makes me want to play a fresh classic server. Hc is sick but I want to raid and pvp long-term on a fresh server. imo they should just do classic servers on a 12-14 month reset cycle or something like that, when it's done you transfer everything to classic-era. Kinda like d2 ladder.
My dad has stopped playing warcraft for a while due to the way they changed their game a lot in the modern version. (Yeah, Greedy Blizzard) Thanks to the classic version, we both got on Wrath of the Lich King and we both had fun together taking on quests! I have played the modern version for a while so i had no problem.
I liked the old class/race combos. It limited each combos so if you wanted to play a Shaman/Paladin or Druid... you could do it on a few races. It forces people to play in different factions. Now a days, everyone is an Alliance Human.
No. What you should do is pick up the repack for single player where you can add 5k bots that will trade, grind skills, quest, do raids and everything.

Bro I wish, I had set bonus from t1 and t2 on my rogue, with Gm mace mh and aq trash drop made offhand. Was so much fun, only needed a a couple items out of bwl and was one binding away from TF. I miss og lvl 60 so much. But u hate Leveling. I'd rather pay for a level 58 toon and start there. Can't start at lvl 1 again

no blizzard claims they disabled all pvp but made one huge change which is worse for the game overall not just for hc. They made it so if a gaurd hits you even if u don't fight back you get auto flagged.
Games haven't gotten more fun over the past 20 years. The graphics have just gotten more detailed but you get used to the graphics and stop noticing it within a few hours.

Honestly, is it worth playing "F2P" most likely not when I see the level cap is at 20...... for F2P and that I do not wish to spend 15 to 29 dollars for sub to play a game that couldve worked well as a F2P. Games like Guild Wars 2 and Runescape and other F2P games have done so perfectly fine without needing subscriptions to play a game fully.

9:20 I honestly like when people keep it real I luved this part; I sometimes do GDKPs and when anyone makes a mistake or underperforms people lose their minds "blacklisting" people and rage quitting after only 1 maybe 2 wipes and they act like a spoiled manchild lol.

(IF i can disable pvo that is) i have a 29 rogue on Pyrewood (and NO Hardcore)

The bots and gold selling just suck all the motivation I have for playing on live servers again. The community is just a dumpster fire now. I know I can avoid it by joining a guild, but it's just not worth it anymore. If I have the urge, i'll just play a private server where they actually moderate RMT
I thought dragon kill points was the old school system where u got points for being on time having pots and al that? When did that become the sales runs.. I've been thinking about this for the length of the video and no I can't remember the acronym for the bidding run
The difference is GDKP AND DKP. DKP is what you're describing. GDKP is just the name for bidding gold on gear. DKP was points based and earning points was about helping the guild and the like. GDKP is just the fancy name for bidding gold on loot, calling it an auction is the most honest way of explaining it.
I spread my time between Classic Wrath and Classic Hardcore. Both are fun for different reasons. I’ll probably play regular Classic when my Hardcore toon inevitably dies. 😂

Been playing Classic Wow Season of Discovery, I like it WAY more than Retail. Retail is soulless and people play it as a chore, Classic is just for fun imo.
I have been keen to start WOTLK as i have had enough of retail wow but this gold bidding has really put me off i mean i dont do raids just dungeon tbh would it still be viable to play would you say? Retail just seems to complex now
Sure it would. I have a full-on raiding character but, for most characters, my idea of end-game fun is running all of the level 60 dungeons, getting pre-raid BIS and/or getting complete dungeon armor sets (both Dungeon Set 1 and 2 if I'm really motivated). I also like to level professions and reputations. Also, I know of one guild that hosts many GDKP (bid-with-gold) raids regularly, but it's not nearly as common as some folks make it out to be. (I play on the NA server cluster.)
If you play classic wow and are raiding endgame be prepared to spend hours farming for potions and sitting in discord with nerds talking about how to increase their dps by 0.0001%. And even when you clear all content they still find things to bitch about.
Don't join classic era and expect to raid Naxx. %98.5 of the era players are casual. Downing C'thun isnt likely either. I have noticed that out of the 40 players we need and have in guild (we have about 100 level 60 players) only 25-30 show up every week for raid. 25man MC isn't a problem but 30man C'thun is close to impossible.
Really? My main has full Phase 5 BIS, including the five-piece AQ40 armor set for my class. Naxx is imminent… Edit: Forgot to add that I’m a pretty casual player. It’s taken three years for me to get to this point from level 1. 🤷🏽♂️
Saying that in every vid: open world pvp is dead since every server is very one sided, which is sad for people like me who enjoy the aspect of open world pvp.

Since i dont have a lvl 60 on classic era, i have started to level on hardcore. Died at lvl 40 and now i continue leveling on era to 60. Its a blast.

I never run GDKP's and I get decent gear and still have fun while not going broke. Gdkp's feel slimey and I don't have that much gold to waste.

I have never been part of a guild for more than 1-2 months as I was always quitting due to limitations such as not finding people for raids and so on.
Now I have decided to give it another try, on the Vanilla server, potentially finding a decent guild and finally to enjoy the game as I should’ve done it since MOP.

So I just started playing wow about 1 week ago and started with classic. I saw the hardcore stuff on twitch and it made me want to give it a try. I made a warrior and have gotten to level 25. It feels brutally slow. Should I make the switch to wotlk and try that out? I would love to find some people to play with but I'm not sure they would want someone who had never played before.
Lots of other new players or old players returning that take it slow. Wrath leveling is much faster, because the new talents are very powerful right from the start.

playing hardcore just makes me want to play a fresh classic server. Hc is sick but I want to raid and pvp long-term on a fresh server.
imo they should just do classic servers on a 12-14 month reset cycle or something like that, when it's done you transfer everything to classic-era. Kinda like d2 ladder.

My dad has stopped playing warcraft for a while due to the way they changed their game a lot in the modern version. (Yeah, Greedy Blizzard) Thanks to the classic version, we both got on Wrath of the Lich King and we both had fun together taking on quests! I have played the modern version for a while so i had no problem.
It's the only decent MMO that runs on my laptop easily. Decision made 😅
I liked the old class/race combos. It limited each combos so if you wanted to play a Shaman/Paladin or Druid... you could do it on a few races.
It forces people to play in different factions.
Now a days, everyone is an Alliance Human.

No. What you should do is pick up the repack for single player where you can add 5k bots that will trade, grind skills, quest, do raids and everything.

Classic wow is great. Its not just a rush to get to end game content. Its slow and everything in every zone is important.

Well I was on the fence ... guess I'm starting up classic wrath again. I always wanted to play it again but so many other games dropper and I always felt I'd be too far behind.
The end of the video pretty much summed up my feeling of classic. I think its a great game, but the community actively makes the game a worse experience with botting, gold buying and general toxicity. Ive basically went back into retail because DF is actually pretty good and i can just chill

Bro I wish, I had set bonus from t1 and t2 on my rogue, with Gm mace mh and aq trash drop made offhand. Was so much fun, only needed a a couple items out of bwl and was one binding away from TF.
I miss og lvl 60 so much. But u hate Leveling. I'd rather pay for a level 58 toon and start there. Can't start at lvl 1 again

no blizzard claims they disabled all pvp but made one huge change which is worse for the game overall not just for hc. They made it so if a gaurd hits you even if u don't fight back you get auto flagged.

Games haven't gotten more fun over the past 20 years. The graphics have just gotten more detailed but you get used to the graphics and stop noticing it within a few hours.

classic era is all gate kept by people who actually spent money cloning and everything is GDKP. How is naxx loot selling for over 100k for certain items? you tell me.

ive played since 2006, near vanilla version. imo wotlk in 2009 to 2010 was the peak of this game and it cant return to that glory

Honestly, is it worth playing "F2P" most likely not when I see the level cap is at 20...... for F2P and that I do not wish to spend 15 to 29 dollars for sub to play a game that couldve worked well as a F2P.
Games like Guild Wars 2 and Runescape and other F2P games have done so perfectly fine without needing subscriptions to play a game fully.
So you wanna say, that in some period of time will be catalysm classic and no wotlk classic? Why? If everyone love witlk most? And than will be next expansions classic? What the point
for me, leveling to 60 was the most fun part of wow, which makes HC a blast
9:20 I honestly like when people keep it real I luved this part; I sometimes do GDKPs and when anyone makes a mistake or underperforms people lose their minds "blacklisting" people and rage quitting after only 1 maybe 2 wipes and they act like a spoiled manchild lol.
Thanks for and interesting video! but one thing i dont really get is the servers you recommend? i am on Pyrewood Village and it is low pop i see now, and its a "Normal" server not sure if that means no forced pvp but i thought so choosing it because i dont want pvp, on Firemaw it say pvp...is worh for me as a VERY casual player to restart on firemaw? (IF i can disable pvo that is) i have a 29 rogue on Pyrewood (and NO Hardcore)

The bots and gold selling just suck all the motivation I have for playing on live servers again. The community is just a dumpster fire now. I know I can avoid it by joining a guild, but it's just not worth it anymore. If I have the urge, i'll just play a private server where they actually moderate RMT

I thought dragon kill points was the old school system where u got points for being on time having pots and al that? When did that become the sales runs.. I've been thinking about this for the length of the video and no I can't remember the acronym for the bidding run
The difference is GDKP AND DKP. DKP is what you're describing. GDKP is just the name for bidding gold on gear. DKP was points based and earning points was about helping the guild and the like. GDKP is just the fancy name for bidding gold on loot, calling it an auction is the most honest way of explaining it.

I spread my time between Classic Wrath and Classic Hardcore. Both are fun for different reasons. I’ll probably play regular Classic when my Hardcore toon inevitably dies. 😂

Been playing Classic Wow Season of Discovery, I like it WAY more than Retail. Retail is soulless and people play it as a chore, Classic is just for fun imo.
I have been keen to start WOTLK as i have had enough of retail wow but this gold bidding has really put me off i mean i dont do raids just dungeon tbh would it still be viable to play would you say? Retail just seems to complex now
Sure it would. I have a full-on raiding character but, for most characters, my idea of end-game fun is running all of the level 60 dungeons, getting pre-raid BIS and/or getting complete dungeon armor sets (both Dungeon Set 1 and 2 if I'm really motivated). I also like to level professions and reputations. Also, I know of one guild that hosts many GDKP (bid-with-gold) raids regularly, but it's not nearly as common as some folks make it out to be. (I play on the NA server cluster.)

If you play classic wow and are raiding endgame be prepared to spend hours farming for potions and sitting in discord with nerds talking about how to increase their dps by 0.0001%. And even when you clear all content they still find things to bitch about.

Don't join classic era and expect to raid Naxx. %98.5 of the era players are casual. Downing C'thun isnt likely either. I have noticed that out of the 40 players we need and have in guild (we have about 100 level 60 players) only 25-30 show up every week for raid. 25man MC isn't a problem but 30man C'thun is close to impossible.
Really? My main has full Phase 5 BIS, including the five-piece AQ40 armor set for my class. Naxx is imminent…
