I loved all the references to the past God of War games in this. Made me feel all giddy just hearing it from Kratos.

I like how the poems are different game titles. When Mimir asked Kratos which poem he likes the most he says “i like the poem from my land”
In a later conversation they have, he infers his favorite is "The Iliad" and how he had fought in the Trojan War himself, but preferred the poem to the real life pains he experienced.

@@TheBongoXII A later boat conversation has Mimir mention that he disliked how the poem Kratos was referring to had a lot of people in a room mentioning things that happened, rather than things actually happening. Kratos responds by saying it's Greek tradition for plays to take place in a single time and location.
I forgot how cruel Kratos was during his youth after killing that boat captain
10 years of serving the gods with constant nightmares of murdering his family does that to a man.
Thats not even his worst crime. He burned an unarmed soldier in a cage, killed poseidons wife by binding her to a cog wheel, tore off icarus wings and sent him plummeting to his death, and destroyed every mortal in greece by killing the gods

There aren’t a lot of easter eggs in there, but I liked it enough that I wanted to put a video together for you guys. I’ve still got like 15 hours of side missions left and I want to start working on my next video soon, so I gotta go. I really hope you enjoy the video!

@@thegamingking1972 I'm not sure yet. Elden Ring might still have it. Somerville also comes out in a couple days which is my most anticipated game of the year. I've been hyped for that since 2017.

I like the reference to other PS games in the games and those games having reference to others. It makes me feel like they are all connected in its own universe not knowing the existence of the others.
Also for the last Easter egg there better be a sly cooper one.

You know the terms Mimir used to describe the different fighters from All Stars that Kratos fought could also totally apply to his crossover in MK9, pretty much all those descriptions could fit the roster except for maybe the musician one

another easter egg, that not many people caught, is Mimir's mention of a lake nymph named Nimue and her being very talented with a sword, they refer to Arthurian legend, Nimue being an alias of the Lady of the Lake and the sword being a possible nod to Excalibur
I absolutely noticed that one, being a fan of the Camelot Mythos myself
While they’re in Midgard in the lake of nine, mimir asks Kratos about a war where one army tricked the other and won the war by a wooden device that wasn’t what it seemed. It is a clear reference to the Trojan War and Kratos said he was in that war.
Not really an Easter egg, but it was a cool call back. When Mimir and Kratos are talking, he mentions something about death. Kratos then says "Death can have me, once it earns me." The very same line he spoke back in GoW2.
When does he say that in GOW2?
I thought he says this with Freya and when in Gow2?
I recently heard this line in-game. He said it to Freya not to Mimir.

I love how most of the poems' title were wordsplay, like Trip-Journey, The Last of Us 2 - We who remain, part the second, etc
There are way more. The two I could remember off the top of my head are: (1) the device that Ratatoskr gives you to capture Nidhogg's offspring is definitely a nod to Ghostbusters, (2) one of the artifact Kratos picks up in the Lake of the Nine is a phurba dagger, which is an obvious nod to Uncharted 2.
All the boat storys from Kratos (GoW 2018) are also things that happened in God of War 1-3 and PSP / Vita Games.
The level of detail given in these games is just incredible.
Yep, Kratos has improved his story telling ability and is willing to talk about his past.

the ratchet and clank easter egg isn't just for the characters, its a reference to the newest game Ratchet and Clank: Rifts Apart. you can tell as it says "Two clever automatons (Clank and Rivet), and the last two (Lombaxs')
I think you meant to put Kit's name for the two automatons, rivet is the other lombax

A sequel wouldn’t last. PlayStation all stars failed cause it tried to be smash bros but couldn’t be smash bros.

I enjoy how all these Playstation exclusives are putting in references to one another, especially the way Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima did. Hopefully Santa Monica put in a reference to those two games somewhere since they both had an awesome easter egg for God of War.
Idk about ghost of tsushima but one of kvasir's poems is a reference to horizon zero dawn!
I love how the Kavasir poems were all references to other Playstation exclusives. I actually didn't even notice it until my 2nd playthrough.
I wish you included all of Kvasir’s poems in the video. They have so many tiny details referencing their respective games. For example, the Uncharted poem has a metal screw lodged in the cover-a reference to the first Uncharted game when Sully survives a gunshot thanks to Nate’s journal in his shirt pocket!

I never even noticed the last of us poem, I read it and everything. I didn’t even know about the little pictures on the books too. I got platinum for the game in 52 hours and never even noticed this Easter egg. Thanks for pointing it out 😁

That Last of Us Part 2 poem is actually incredible.
There’s also a reference to a meme where if you get the Yggdrasil amulet, you get the achievement, “How it started…” and then “How it’s going” after you repair the entire amulet.

There is another reference in the post-game dialogue beetween Kratos, Mimir, Freya, Hildisvini and Sif where Mimir quote the "Excuseee me, princess"(i don't know if it is a quote only made in the italian version of the game)
Kratos wouldn't speak of it because Patapons defeated hades in mere seconds

I never even REALIZED that the poems were connected to anything let alone past games. I even started at the pictures on the covers in the codex and couldn't understand most of them let alone they were some of the games I grew up playing.

if you go to goddess falls boat dock in Vanaheim there is a turtle with a tree growing on its back could be referencing pokemon. its right side as you land on the sand. (about 3 o clock from the sand and chest height of Kratos)
Theres loads of turtles like in Vanaheim
