Fun video. The great part about bikes like this BMW S1000RR is that the motors are never straining. They can last forever, if they are driven at anywhere near street speeds . And the best thing is, you are never lacking power to get away from a suddenly dangerous street situation. The scariest thing now, is that the police are now sitting on the interstates, right off the side of the on ramps. No fun joining the interstate at 'merging speeds' , right in front of a state trooper. But ride these bikes with respect for the power and they must be an absolute blast to own. Hell, book a track day to wring them out. Way cheaper then a court date.

Rode 600 and 750's for a decade, then over to R1 a couple of years ago. First thing I thought on the R1 was 'this bike is stoopid fast'. Well, I got used to it and accelerating stoopid fast became normal, I recently moved back down to a 600 for shits and giggles, I am enjoying revving the bike out a bit more and not always going so fast.
I love revving the crap out of my CBR. That sound literally terrifies everyone on the street, lol. They turn around, jump inwards on the sidewalks out of fear for what's coming. I love it. On a litre bike - the only high revving you are going to do is in 1st gear.

This isn't just litre bikes that respond like this. My 650 sits at about 6k doing 70mph but is just itching to accelerate. If I grab a proper fistful it's doing 90mph in an instant. It's such a nice feeling to hear an inline 4 scream as it hits the power band. So addictive.
I have a Triumph Bonneville T120. Even with just 80hp, that things is really fast. According to the internet it does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.5. That's approaching supercar performance....and that's considered a beginner bike to most riders. My mom asked me if it was fast and I told her it wasn't that fast for a bike. My dad then asked if it was fast for a car. He knew the answer.
I had to sell my 2022 BMW S1000 RR after having it for 4 months for school.. breaks my heart. It was beautiful, it ran amazing. @igork9691 I started riding on a ninja 650 and after only ~5 months I got an s1000rr. I'm just about 5'7 so the positioning/weight/height was the biggest adjustment. The bikes power is more manageable and forgiving than you'd think. Yeah it can go fast as fuck but the electronics and tech make it the most "beginner" friendly 1000 you can buy. It also has all the creature comforts you won't find on any other superbike (cruise, heated grips). It all comes down to the kind of rider and how mature you are. The S1000rr just doesn't seem to pull as hard as my 2008 gen3 ZX10R. When I am full throttle 1st thru 3rd, it is lifting the front wheel off the ground near redline. It didn't look like that S1000rr was doing that. I am just 5' 10" and 178lbs and I have to really lean on the tank in 1st and 2nd to keep the wheel down. do this but with a 600 to show that they're still pretty fast
That thing can go over 100 mph in first gear? 😮 How fast can it actually go in first gear? That's just unreal.
If you watch closely, he was shifting from 1st to 2nd when it redlined at about 95mph or so. My 08 ZX10R will reach 93mph at redline in 1st.
@@schigara amazing. Thanks for the info.
6th gear be faster than full throttle on my 300 🤣
It is strange to see it called crazy fast since you've ridden so many other liter bikes. The fact that it takes more than a second or two in 1st or 2nd gear shows that it's restricted since that fast 60-100 has been around for nearly 2 decades now.
They're definitely still too fast for people who don't have self control or practice, but so are stock Harleys with 60hp or whatever lol.
1st and 2nd are restricted to 50% torque by the ECU. With a tune, torque is restored to 100%. 😁😁
This confirms again that a 600 is more than enough for the street
