Just a little info on the song/video: "The Sandman" was a mythical character who allegedly put people to sleep with magic and bestowed them with pleasant dreams. The imagery in the video reflects what people often dream about -- being covered in snakes, snakes on the floor, being chased, falling, drowning, etc. However in the Metallica video, the imagery is nightmarish and is meant to juxtapose what the Sandman was meant to bestow.

The space in front of the stage literally turned into a bloody battle that did not stop from the very beginning of the concert until midnight.

they changed too much between albums i couldnt take it after black album. i was a fan since early 80s but they did some stuff which was totally "not metal" to us old school fans........i was never a hater that called them sell outs and i realize you cant keep doing high energy thrash past 30 but when james started singing about his feelings and trying to keep up with grunge and nu-metal that did it for me.

Metallica - Enter sandman blasting ... and all this couple could see was hairs flying as we headbanged to this ... we heard a horn and the old couple ( age late 60ties) had thumbs up and were banging along ...
