Just a reminder, if you have bad asthma like me or any other health condition that affects your workouts, it's more than okay to take extra breaks, modify the exercise, etc. You're killing it, and you should still be proud of yourself for doing your best!

So I started my weight loss after years of being obese in June 2023. I was 311lbs. Now in Jan 2024 I am 240lbs. I still have a long way to go but the progress feels so good. It's taken a complete lifestyle change and the bulk of it was making sure I was in a calorie deficit which we know is how you lose fat. BUT I didn't want to just lose fat I wanted to gain muscle and get my body used to moving again. So I started looking for exercise videos to help me get started. These 12 minute workout videos have been so helpful in conditioning my body to be able to workout again as I get my weight down. You really get a sweat and get your heart rate up but it's not like so many programs that start you out so intensely and are 45+ minutes long and you just feel defeated before you even start. It's hard enough when you're starting with a blank canvas. It's nearly impossible when your canvas has metaphorically been facedown in a river for 10 years. I'm really glad I found Jo's channel. I'm steadily increasing my workout times and intensity and it feels like natural progression that's completely attainable and it's all adding up to a much happier me. :)

Update I consistently started working out daily with Grow with Jo and walking 2 miles on top of it outside at least 4 times a week. I was not seeing any weight loss. I could see the changes in my body I was feeling stronger, feeling more confident, able to accomplish the workouts without being winded and feeling amazing and that is what I kept telling myself. I’m feeling good that’s what matters feeling healthy. So today I decided to weigh myself after 2 months of not looking at the scale and I am down 17 pounds, so consistency is key. Thank you for helping me consistently to have a game plan for my health. being a stay at home mom caring for the home the family is very important but taking time for ourselves is just as important a healthy mom helps a healthy home be created. God Bless ❤

I've never had the courage or energy to track my progress on here but this seemed like a good one and realistic one to do
I just did it for the first time and i was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable it actually was.
I'm adding this to my routine and I'm going to do this everyday for as many weeks as i can the goal is 12 weeks to truly see if i can get and results but if not 12 then 4 weeks is at least the goal.
So anyways I'm gonna keep track here aswell:
    Start: July 29th, 2022
Weight: 155.2 lbs Waist: 32 in.
(it fluctuates in the 150s like crazy so this should be interesting there may be more change in appearance than numbers idk yet)
    Week 1:
    D1: ✅️ 7/29
    D2: ✅️ 7/30
    D3: ✅️ 7/31
    D4: ✅️ 8/1
    D5: ✅️ 8/2
    D6: ✅️ 8/3
    D7: ✅️ 8/4
    Week 2
    D8: ✅️ 8/5
    D9: ✅️ 8/6
    D10: ✅️ 8/7
(i feel better overall once im working out even when it's hard and i really don't want to those thoughts just push me more now and it feels just that much better every time i complete it when i almost quit)
(Also this workout is new to my routine but im on day 24 of the rest of my routine before i added this and im getting better)
    D11: ✅️ 8/8
    D12: ✅️ 8/9
(let me tell you i did NOT want to do that but after like the 3rd workout i felt sm better bc i remembered what this is all for and as long as im making an effort to push myself then it's progress whether im proud of it or not and the thought of progress just sounds so good and overdue at this point that I've come too far to quit again...i have been struggling with this specific path with my body's physical health and and severely disordered eating for abt 5 yrs now and just think if i hadn't quit on myself all those times i could be so much stronger right now mentally and physically. And it's taken way too long, it's taken a good freakin chunk of my life and consumed me. I'm fed up with my own excuses and emotions. So this definitely feels like progress and i choose to try no matter what now. For me)
    D13: ✅️ 8/10
    D14: ✅️ 8/11
(i almost quit today guys but I made it 2 weeks! and today was day 28 of my starting to workout again overall. Since i added this to my routine it's help me feel better overall i think like it truly does put me in a better mood and mindset and helps me stop worrying about everything for a bit. Also this was NOT a good week at all so istruggled a bit and gettingmy workoutin no matter how much i didn't feel like it made me feel better everyday. Tired but in a good mood)
Here's to making it through next week 🙏
    Week 3
    D15: ✅️ 8/12
    D16: ✅️ 8/13
    D17: ✅️ 8/14
    D18: ✅️ 8/15
D19: guys I'm so sick idk if I'll get today it might be the first day I miss in 32 days but I'm actually really sick
    Update on day 19 I did it ✅️ 8/16
D20: ✅️ 8/17 (i ate terribly today of extreme hunger and then had to workout anyways and felt sick the whole time today was definitely not fun but hopefully worth it nonetheless)
D21: ✅️ 8/18 (today felt very good ngl and im pumped for when i can start going to a real gym)
    (On to week 4 baby!)
    Week 4:
    D22: ✅️ 8/19
    D23: ✅️ 8/20
    D24: ✅️ 8/21
    D25: ✅️ 8/22
    D26: ✅️ 8/23
    D27: ✅️ 8/24
D28: ✅️ 8/25 (im so overstimulated rn everythings so much and too much and js rlly hard for me and when i workout it'shard to get started but it's the only thing that seems to make me genuinelystart to feel better and then i finish and i crash again. I've broken down crying and everything after working out almost everynight, it's rlly hard but this is the only thing i feel capableof so im trying my best)
    Week 5:
D29: ✅️ 8/26 (i wanted to give up man it's been rlly hard not physically bc of strength but physically bc of exhaustion and mentally. i was so close to going back to sleep after i fell asleep and missed when i was supposed to workout but i mean i did it)
    D30: ✅️ 8/27
D31: ✅️ 8/28 (guys ive been a mess i thought id been updating this i swear but i did it im still here 💪🥲)
    D32: ✅️ 8/29
    D33: ✅️ 8/30
    D34: ✅️ 8/31
    D35: ✅️ 9/1
    Week 6:
D36: ✅️ 9/2 (even if my physical progress is still a work in progress i js wanna take a moment to appreciate that I've been working out every day now for 50 days, this workout got added later but jeez im so happy just abt that even if im still not where i wanna be i finally feel like i can do it)
D37: ✅️ 9/3 (guys i worked outsidein the heat all day for 11hrs and came straight home and did my workouts 💪🥲 lowkey proud of myself since nobody else knows or is)
    D38: ✅️ 9/4
    D39: ✅️ 9/5
    D40: ✅️ 9/6
    D41: ✅️ 9/7
D42: ✅️ 9/8 (omg i justrealizedim halfway there if i wannamake it 12 weeks honestlyat this point im just goingto do it as long as i can and want but omg yayy)
    Week 7:
    D43: ✅️ 9/9 (i so rushed today it didn't feel good but we hit week 7 nonetheless! 🥳 )
    D44: ✅️ 9/10
    D45: ✅️ 9/11
    D46: ✅️ 9/12 (day 60 of workingout everyday 🥳🥳🥳)
    D47: ✅️ 9/13
    D48: ✅️ 9/14
    D49: ✅️ 9/15
    Week 8:

Jo, I appreciate all of the workouts you give to us. I can’t imagine how challenging it must be to juggle being a mom, a wife, and a personal trainer, and chasing your goals, and dreams. I can’t imagine the effort that it takes for you to come up with a workout, seeking the right music, setting up the camera, finding the right lighting, and whatever else you have to do to bring it to us, and I’m sure you have to find what you are going to wear. We women always have to figure out what to wear. I appreciate all you do for our community. I’m down 6 pounds I’m just 1.5 weeks in. I do a variation of your workouts. I’m too out of shape. I need to rebuild my stamina for the 4 and 5 miles. I will get there; I have done it before, and I know I can do it again. I know I’m going to knock off these 20lbs I have with you. I love the new ab workout it’s about 15-20 long, and the ab/arms workout! You rock!!!
🙏🏾May God continue to bless you, increase your community, and your endeavors.💛

Hi Jo, this was my second workout in a very long time, and the first one with you. I really like the video for these reasons
    1) 12 minutes is a little bit more than 10, but still not intimidating for a complete beginner
    2) I love that you have a partner to do it with you, so we can all see that different people do things at different speeds and we don't need to feel bad if we can't keep up with the rhythm
    3) the beeps indicating the last 5 secons
    4) the preview of the next move
    5) the overall timeline to see how far we got
    6) the stretching moves at the end
    7) the 10sec break in between each move, so you have enough time to look at what's coming up
    Thanks a lot for this!!!

Normally I try to do the 45 minute to hour long workout of Jo’s. But today I was very busy and count fit in the time but I said I need to move I need to do something. With that being said I took this lil 12 video not expecting to burn much not expecting to sweat. Lord was I wrong!!! But I love that I needed that thank you so much for sharing your video. I'd love some gentler, slower workouts (even if they're long in length!) for those of us who need to move a little more gently, but still really want to burn calories, work up a sweat, and get stronger. How about a 30-60 minute "gentle" workout?

    ✅️ Wednesday : I did this 12 minutes workout !

    ✅️ Thursday : 25 minutes workout
✅️ I danced a lot to a party, 2 hours straight, it has to count somehow 😂

One of the things that I like about this video is you featured a workout partner that isn’t at the same fitness level as you, and it makes the video more relatable to people of all fitness levels. It was great to see her because she modified the exercises to her fitness level, and she could act as a guide to someone who may not be at the same fitness level as you.

I LOVE your videos. I’m trying to get back in shape after having 2 babies and both pregnancies were difficult for me. I now have back problems, hip and knee problems so it’s hard for me to find workouts that I can do without pain. Yours are one of the very few I can actually do! Thank you so much!

You motivate me Jo because you tell me it's OK to just work out for 10 - 12 min , I can do that ( I'm a 60 year old ) .... but I talk myself out of it very easy if I "have" to do an hour ,but I'm working on that goal . I not a morning person AT ALL, but your upbeat , happy smile helps a ton!

Hi, Jo! I just want to say thank you for making me feel my body and start to enjoying workouts again!🙏🏼 I am sooo HAPPY!😍 I have been really sick in postcovid for over 2 years and been training at the hospital with physioterapeut for a looong time. It’s been really hard! I am getting stronger day by day. 2 weaks ago I found your joyful workouts and I am loving it. I have been doing the 3 milewalk/ lose bellyfat (47 min) for 8 times now. Your workouts are fun, effective, sweaty, feels like dancing, the music is so good and your positivity and smiling is so boosting. So Thank you, THANK YOU for all the time and effort you lay down on making those videos.// Love and light from Sweden 🙏🏼🤗🙌🏼💖🇸🇪

I have 100+ lb I want to lose but always give up on vido workouts because most moves are really hard to do because of my stomach being in the way and because of how much I weigh but this workout was perfect!!!! Alloves I am able to do plus constant movement... I am sweating so much after only 12 minutes and I feel so great for being able to finish!!! Definitely going to do your entire 12 minute series

    Today is August 7, 2022
Day 1 successfully completed. I will be doing this work out for two weeks to see any changes for myself. This work out for the first day I’m definitely sweating definitely out of breath I need a shower. The total amount of calories that I burnt was just 100 by doing this exercise. My average heart rate range anywhere between 104 to 156 bpm.
Day 2 Second day is successfully completed. What I will say that I noticed for today is when I first woke up this morning. My thighs in my back are in excruciating pain. That must mean that my muscles are working I was pushing them to their limit so now they are trying to adjust to this workout. I work out every day I can tickly have a channel that I stay on and I do their workouts but I saw that on my RUclips page they recommended me this channel so I decided why not give this channel a chance let me see what I can do for the first two weeks that’s normally how long I do it work out. Happy to work out out and I do that work out for 14 days straight and then I’ll normally pick something new so I’m curious to see how my growth goes with this workout. The total amount of calories that I burnt for today was just 74 cal so I believe that was a little bit less than yesterday my average heart rate range anywhere between 129 to 150 bpm. But like I said yesterday I’m hot, I’m sweaty, I am definitely out of breath and I definitely will be heading into that shower. I’m looking forward to doing this work out tomorrow.
Day 3 I am completely out of breath. My side hurt my thighs my thighs are in pain. I am sweaty from head to toe I cannot seem to keep the sweat off of my face. The total amount of calories that I burnt for this workout was 121 that is a lot more than yesterday I did this work out once I got home from work so I was unable to do it this morning like the other today but I still was able to successfully completed. My average heart rate range anywhere between 133 two 165 bpm. Time for me to hit the shower and wash my face. See you tomorrow
Day 4 complete it. So today I noticed that no part of my body whatsoever was in pain. This was a little bit more easier to do I was able to start getting in the groove of things. So I actually had a lot more fun since my body was no longer sore or tight. I will say that it still gives me a sweat. That part did not change however I didn’t need to drink any water I was able to just keep going from start to finish. The total amount of calories that I burnt for today was 89 so definitely less calories than yesterday. My heart rate range anywhere between 130 to 167 bpm so a little bit more than yesterday but not by much.
Day 5 oh my goodness, am I out of breath. Today was a little bit different than yesterday. Oh I am more sweaty than I was yesterday. I didn’t notice that a little bit of my lower thigh area is a little tight when you do the exercise that involves bending your knees up and down while moving your arms inside and outside of your legs. I feel great though. I feel like part of my body spin stretched out. The total amount of calories that I burnt for today was 93 so I believe less than yesterday possibly my average heart rate range anywhere between 110 to 170 bpm so I definitely believe that that was more than yesterday. So far this workout has been making me sweat every single day I do other workouts besides just this one so the fact that this one is constantly making me sweat is very interesting to me I like it it’s a good challenge. I’m looking for it till tomorrow
Day 6. Oh my goodness. It’s done. I am sweaty. I am hot and out of breath. This workout is just day after day. This workout was not hard at all to do today. As of today I will say that officially there’s no pain there’s no soreness there’s no tightness of any kind anywhere now I’m just able to do it very freely and smoothly but still get the heart rate popping. The total amount of calories that I bought for today was 82. My average heart rate range anywhere between 126 to 152 bpm I’ll see you tomorrow
Day 7. The first week of this workout has been successfully completed. I cannot believe that every single day doing this right now I have been sweating. Whether it’s been a lot of sweat or in the middle never been sweat it at all. I don’t think I saw the channel so far that actually kept me sweating for a whole week. What are you contagious by today there is the tightness anywhere however my arms they felt a little heavy around my shoulders doing the train your arms around in a circle but better than that it was great I was able to finish strong but I normally have anything but I do need some water now. The total amount of calories that I burned for today was 103 cal my average heart rate range anywhere between 132 to 146 bpm I’ll see you tomorrow
Day 8. Done. So today I did this work out at my moms house I had to do one of the work out a little different meaning I just couldn’t jump because my mom lives on the third floor and I didn’t want to disturb to her downstairs neighbors to be respectful. But even still I was able to still put a sweat on I feel like I sweat it more than I did yesterday. I will say that I noticed under my glutes they are a little tight just a little bit just enough where I can tell that they’re tight. The total amount of calories did I burn for today was just 88 cal so I believe that was less than yesterday my average heart rate range anywhere between 118 to 150 bpm thanks again see you tomorrow
Day 9 The nice day has been successfully completed. I am out of breath. I’m sweating really bad a lot. The total amount of calories that I burnt for today was only 88. My average heart rate range anywhere between 91 to 159 bpm I’ll see you tomorrow I need some water and I need to shower
Day 10 oh my goodness. Let’s just say that every day this workout will really just make you sweat. I don’t think there has been one day so far that I just have not sweat. I really like this workout a lot I think I’m going to start using her more often. So the total amount of calories did I burn for today was 92. My face is covered in sweat oh my goodness no body. My average heart rate range anywhere between 134 to 148 bpm. I will say that around my rib cage when I have to do any twisting movements I notice a bit of stiffness or tightness just in that area and because of that it was somewhat difficult it was a little annoying I noticed it this morning when I was at work when I try to do some things that involve me to twist my side but order than that nothing else
Day 11 oh I’m finished. I feel like I just sweat more than yesterday and I’m not even sure how that is even possible. I put my headphones on today just to see what would happen and maybe my music I was really getting into it and that’s why but I am drenched in sweat. Nothing out of the unusual for my body I feel pretty good everywhere my sides feel a lot better so that’s a plus but order than that yeah the sweat is real. The total amount of calories that I burned for today was 104 so that’s definitely more than yesterday my average heart rate range anywhere between 120 to 146 bpm.
Day 12 welp I’m only two days away and then this workout will be completed. So today for almost the whole entire video I was not out of breath I was actually just going at my own pace moving forward cushion however as soon as we hit the jogging mode that’s when I was out of breath but I was really puts a force into doing that work out. Nothing unusual to say for right now definitely sweaty so that’s nothing new. I told him all the calories that I burnt for today was 97. My average heart rate range anywhere between 126 and 166 bpm I’m almost done two more days
Day 13 well, this is it tomorrow is the last day of doing this work out. It’s the very last day I’m so excited very excited to say I have finished to the end. So today it was really fun my partner he joined in just for a little bit then he got tired and he left but it was really fun having someone do it with me. I actually didn’t sweat a lot like I normally do during this workout. I just felt hot I felt my body producing the sweat but it didn’t get there to start coming but I am sticky The total amount of calories that I burnt for today is 80 to my average heart rate range anywhere between 121 to 128 bpm I think this is the lowest my heart rate has ever been since I’ve done this work out so that can show you that this one for today. It felt like I was not doing anything almost
Day 14 is in my comments It was too long. Check my comment for today August 20 2022.

      Did you lose weight already?

    • @Typical.Chaeyoung
      @Typical.Chaeyoung 2 года назад

@@Een.Dienaar.Van.Jezus. Personally for me, I stopped keeping track of my weight. I did not stop entirely, I just stop checking my weight every single day or after I completed a workout. I noticed that I became obsessed with doing that to the point where I’ve drastically lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. ( I will only check my weight once a month. The first of the month.)
So unfortunately I can’t tell you if I’ve lost any by this workout. I can say that my family have said that they’ve noticed some small changes in my appearance. I’m a small person. So I’m just going to assume that I’ve lost something whether that is in my leg area or maybe around my stomach somewhere I’ve lost something.
      * Personally, I think this workout has been very beneficial to me but that doesn’t mean that this video or this workout would be beneficial to the next person. All I can say is give it a try see how you feel and then you can make that decision on if it’s working for you or not.

Day 14 today is August 20, 2022. I have successfully completed two weeks of doing this work out. I am so very excited that I made it to the end I finish strong and I did not give up. What I can say about this work out overall is that from the get-go as you can see through my comments each day you will be sweating this is a work out that really get your heart racing makes you feel like you need a break makes you feel like you need to drink some water and you also are going to need to take a shower after every workout. It’s so crazy to me that this was only a 12 minute workout but yet a 12 minute workout done so much for me physically and emotionally. I felt very energized by the end of the session every day I felt very proud of myself and I felt very motivated to do it. Overall for today I gave it my very best push myself I put my music on and I just enjoyed it. The total amount of calories that I burnt for today was 126 I think that is the most I’ve done in this work out if not this is one of the largest calorie burns that I’ve done for this workout my average heart rate range anywhere between 112 to 164 bpm. I’m very happy with this work out I might not see a lot of changes but I kind of feel like I feel lighter and I feel more capable of doing things I’m a pretty small person so I’ve been working out for a long time now and I’ve lost a lot of weight doing workouts and fasting so I think I’m going to add her into my routine of my workouts and my regimen this was my first video from her and I really am impressed with just how hard it was at first and the level of difficulty in just 12 minutes. I look forward to doing another work out from her channel tomorrow and seeing how that does for me for another two weeks

I just finished the first 12 minute workout and I'm exhausted. It was very difficult because I haven't been this active for a long while and I'm totally out of shape and out of breath. I'm morbidly obese and had to pause the video and rest for one minute before doing the workout again. I had to rest a few times but I did stick till the end and I was so happy and proud of myself for doing this workout despite being difficult due to asthma and obesity but I accomplished 12 minutes of workout 😊😊 will be doing this workout everyday and eat healthily and walk everyday to lose 88 lbs. Keep doing easy workout videos for obese people 😊
