  • Replacing the valve cover gaskets on the 360 FE with some new Fel-Pro rubber gaskets… they definitely need to be done!

    ***UPDATE***
The Fel-Pro #VS13049R gaskets turned out to be no good at all. They have already started leaking, and I will be swapping them for some Fel-Pro cork gaskets.
These rubber gaskets seemed oversized when I installed them and there are plenty of other reviews online stating the same issues.
Disappointing, but at least it’s an easy fix!
    Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Yikes! I hope the inside of my 390 doesn't look that bad. I say to hell with the cheap stamped steel chrome covers that came with the car and ordered edlebrock aluminum covers and edlebrock gaskets. Hope that fixes my leaks permanently.

Thanks, was wondering what that dolly or bodywork tool was for. I have a few and I need to straighten the hole out, was overtorqued. Putting por 15 engine enamel on straight this time, the 68 pontiac metallic blue looks so great on my factory rims and there they have por 15 under that just like i plan for the body. Went on a hammer I had that was 1 piece of rust great, too.

Hi, another timely video for me: I’m planning on taking off the valve covers on my 66 F100 next weekend to do the same exam/sludge cleanup. My truck has the 352 but is a California truck so has an ERG valve like your 68. I think I want to eliminate it understanding that it may run a bit lean. What are your thoughts? Keep the videos coming, love them.

      Thanks for the comment Patrick!
This truck doesn’t have an EGR… but I’ve eliminated EGR valves on other vehicles in the past, and never had an issue.
If you do experience a lean condition; it would be easy to remedy with some carburetor adjustments.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support & feedback!

Keep us posted on how it works out!
I am on round 2 of MMO and it’s still running nice and quiet! Oil is turning black again-so it is definitely still cleaning out sludge. I will be draining soon and doing another oil change!
