If you and Sam promoted your channel in the videos you appeared in on Sam's channel... you'd have probably 100k subscribers. I found your channel by chance. I'm sure if more people knew you have a channel they'd be here !!!

It appears a great relationship is developing. Hope the best for you two! I know from following Sam that he is very resourceful and great at building all things "sailboat"!

Ann-Elin is your boat a Albin-Vega 27 ? What year is it? Nice of Sam to lend a hand with the repair but if you see him approach the boat with a drill don't let him aboard 😉

I think its 24 feet but its probably a full keel. She mentioned in another video that this was her first boat and it probably won't be her last. however everyone needs to begin somewhere, right? She seems like such a sweet Soul you just wanna hug her.

Great video, remembering what it was like from our circumnavigation in the 1980s, presently sailing the Eastern Atlantic, headed for Brazil. My wife's book is a good one, published by Austin Macauley of New York, and available on Amazon, literally a fictional story of sailing and adventure: "Seychelle and the Cannabis Yachties". It is very entertaining, hoping you will give it a read and review.

You just need to get your sound levels balanced better. Music louder than voice/ voice too low. It aint easy but worth it when you get it right. Sweet and beautiful just like Norway. Goodluck domesticating Sam - he's been round the world, in bits, not sure if a circumnavigation is on the cards? Regards from Cornwall, UK. Home of Pastys and clotted cream.

    • @annelinsynnes
      @annelinsynnes  10 месяцев назад

I totally agree! The sound balance is a struggle, and especially this time since I was using a new microphone and camera. Will definitely work on it! 👌

Beware the ice... It might seem easy to break through poking it from above, but when you are motoring through, the horizontal structure of the ice can be strong & hard enough to slice into your boat. You would be in serious trouble...

    Nice video.
But just a little constructive feedback; at the beginning when you were talking about your tiller with the music playing, that music was a louder than your talking. I wasn't so keen on that, in my opinion I would have preferred the talking to be louder than the music, then I can clearly hear what your are saying.

Also Sam's rudder needed fixing. Thought he would 3d printed the parts, I guess that's difficult on the boat. Mine also needs shims maybe delrin.

Luv the winter sailing of you and Sam. Peaceful. I wrote you a few weeks ago and told you I am an American living in Norway and now I figured out you live in the Kristiansand area. My wife and I live in Kjerringvik by Sandefjord. If you ever visit Randesund Lysstøperi or have visited there, just over the bridge in Kristiansand. That is the farm owned by my wife's brother and family. She was raised there. It is a wonderful place to shop and have food at the cafeteria there. Stop by when you get a chance.

You might want to cut the tiller screw to length and put a hat nut on it. As the thread of the screw can rip things or skin, on unintentional contact.
The same with the screws and the nuts which stick out of the bottom of the tiller. I would really make them all the same with the same exact length with a hat nut.
A hat nut covers the the thread at the end of a screw with a round end cap style ... hat.
Thoose threads can create nasty cuts and injuries on the lower leg, shinbone or foot.

Good fix to the tiller connection, lovely island scenery and light. Enjoyed the videography in the last section; I haven’t seen Sam in SLO-mo before. You both look more handsome on this channel than on Sam’s. :-)
What type is Rodeo Jones? The class icon looks like a speedbird or swallow, and she appears to be about 21-24 foot LOA.

I never use the depth rings on the Navionics app as it clashes at the screen, I would rather see the listed depth in numbers. Very picturesque by the way 🙂
