Fixing engine problems and going for a sail!

- There is always something with these boats!
Last week Sam was visiting and we were going for a sail, but then the gear on the outboard was stuck so we had to sort that out before getting anywhere. The engine ended up being even better than before though, so I guess it was a good thing after all! And then we found a new island that we claimed, which is now Egon Island. Expensive but ordinary.
Always nice when the engine sticks to the boat :)
That’s how I like it! 👌
Thank you (and thanks to Sam for filming you)!
2:55 Sam knows the 3 rules of boating: 1) Always use the right tool 2) A hammer is always the right tool 3) In a pinch, anything can be used as a hammer
Haha this is very true!
I'm glad to see you two together again.
Makes me smile just to see you posted a Video. I love when you and Sam are spending time together. Quality people. Best wishes, and happy sails to you.
Thank you! Makes me so glad to hear that! 😊
You don't have to just post videos of you *and* Sam. You are absolutely charming. I'd be very happy to watch more videos that show us what just you are up to as well.
Thank you for saying that! 😊 I do have some ideas for videos that I will try to make this summer that will be only me 😊 and maybe some fish 🐠🪼
Perfect way to spend a little time watching on Father's day here.
You guys are a blast! Some of the best vids on You Tube, and I always learn something too, about sailing, engines, weather, relationships...I wish you both sunshine and 15 kts on the beam!
Thank you!! ❤️
You might think of selling your big water cooled outboard to a fisherman. I have an air cooled outboard and it keeps things simple. Sailboats get more useful with a 12 volt chest freezer and a CB radio. I always run my chest on ECO mode, so the compressor will last. Switching all lights to LED's is essential.
Yup, Sam and WD-40 can fix anything. Nice video, looking forward to more.
Please secure the boom by sheeting in hard before going on deck to furl the sail. That way you won’t get hurt, or wet.
It’s great to see that Sam, with all his experience, leaves you to get on with most of the sailing. You’re doing great in your little boat. Small and simple is the way to go. Keep at it!
I would add a secondary restraint to the motor. The vibration undo the clamp screws. At least the the clamp levers together. My motor fell off, I caught it in time.
Great video. I loved seeing the rock again too
Thank you! I love finding and appreciating rocks with you ❤️
@@annelinsynnes But did you let him drill a hole in your boat?? 🤔😂😂
@@jamessandman3708 of course! 😉 he has drilled quite a few actually!
@@annelinsynnes😳😳 Ha ha ha!! Got to love that scoundrel!! 😂🤣😂
Skipper Ann-Elin and crewmate Sam.🙂 Nice video.
Nice to have you back
Seascape ecology of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) in coastal Skagerrak: population structure, connectivity, and role in fish assemblage.. Impressive stuff Dr. Synnes.
Haha thank you! 🐟🧬
Right on! Your boat looks great! Why no fishing? 🎣 you could have a nice shore lunch!
Great video, thank you for sharing!
We actually thought about it but turns out I have to buy some new fishing gear 😅 it’s on the list! 🐟
@@annelinsynnes Oh cool! I love doing that when I can! It is so much fun. Your sailboat looks great! You are doing an awesome job with it! The land and water there is just beautiful! 😉
Glad you had sam there to fix it for you.
Me too!
Really like your channel, your positivity, humor. Keep going! 🎉😊
We fixed it.... We hit it with a hammer a bunch. Boat Life
Thank You....
Nice vid, Ann
Thank you! Im glad you liked it 😊
Maybe protect the engine with a tight tarp cover to keep it out of the weather when you aren't at the boat. Looking forward to more of your vids.
I use double plastic garbage bags with the built in ties. just make sure you don't tie them on when the motor is wet as it traps in moisture. Never mind, For long term storage get a canvas cover made for it that is a bit open at the bottom so air can circulate. Trapping in humidity make things corrode faster. Plastic is good for short term, like a couple of days every couple of days. As long as your letting it "breath" regularly.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video!
I’m glad you liked it! 😄
Handy having a handsome guy around the boat...that’s what my wife says 🙋♀️😁⛵️🇨🇦
I agree with your wife!
And pretty nice for Sam to have a drop dead gorgeous, highly intelligent gf too…😂
enjoyed video!....but what no food?....cookies?
Haha unfortunatley just cookies this time! 🍪
Good ol WD40 saves the day again! Probably good preventative maintenance to squirt the same areas that were jammed up whenever you get back on board Rodeo Jones ;) Great to see you post again and the boat is looking nice! How is the solar powered fan vent going?
Cool!
Thanks
You’re welcome! 😊
Well ,looks your not out of shape Sam .
Look forward to your next video.
💪💪

Aren't girlfriends great? You end up carrying an outboard ftom the dock to the car and back😅
this is crazy. all this time i was watching a woman who was afraid her motor would fall into the ocean. just goes to show you never really know people. also doesn’t know how to anchor? we’re getting all the corner pieces in this video xD
Hahah 😂 you saw it here first!
Ann, what ails Sam's 15hp Yanmar onboard diesel? I know it also has an alternator for charging things onboard as well. The answer is this ain't Sam's boat but yours? Anyhow nice seeing you two together for Father's day. Some things are just meant to be, Ann.
This is my boat, yes! ☺️⛵️
@@annelinsynnes Ah!
🙂⛵️🐠🏝⚘️🍻
