? I'm trying to find out if the 5:13 gears was enough for those tire & stock motor & tranny to turn the 44s like if it was ( stock ) im doing a sas 04 with 40s as of right now & not sure wat gears & if you can use high range in 4x4 & it fills stock going down the road in 2wd & or in 4 high in mud ( fills stock )
It was great just driving. Shifted at good times. Drove down the highway great. Pending what I was doing, it felt good off-road too. But stock trans wasn’t enough. After wheeling a couple times it went out
It looks good on the swamper TSL's. I'd like to sas mine but I'm nervous to get into it. I still want to daily drive mine so I only want to do like a 9 inch lift on 35s /37s. Thanks for the video, your truck looks mean.
I'm yanking the 4L80E and putting in an SM465 and a NP205 transfer case. So no more left side differential, and to hell with chain driven cases. My LQ4 is already carbureted, emissions deleted (It's still America in Idaho) I get the same fuel economy as the MPEFI that uses functional TDC to screw with maps and advance whenever doing work on a rough road would effect crank acceleration events. The cold skirt slap making an erroneous knock detection was pure crap as well. This new tech could not win WW2. It's fickle and rittled with Achilles heels. I want a truck, damn it.
Chilson’s Outdoors idk dude. No social media. I’ve been wanting to start a channel. Always dickin with my truck. Pretty much have the same goals as yours. Haven’t done sas swap.
What the brand for the panhard bar and U bolt mount plate you have? That shit looking well used . For both shocks and the bar. I need a pair of them. SAS 05 silverado 5.3 dana 60/14bolt on 40s
Correction guys. I meant 5.13s not 5.88s
How did it do on turning those 44s in high & low 4x4 range in mud & playing around on street

Thank you. I drove mine on the road a bit, until transmission went out.

Sadly I sold this truck.
Damn my truck looks just like that lol 99 gmc tho. Sweet dude.

I bought the truck with the lift in already but I’m pretty sure they made them. You can see the panhand bar was lengthened
Don't waste your time with the 4l60 dude don't be dumb it'll never work with that set up.
I appreciate the advice. We will see what comes of the truck when I get to working on it again.
If you didn't bypass the front diff switch for the 4wd, the trans case won't actuate for you.
Thanks. I was curious if that had part to do with it
@@ChilsonsOutdoors if I can, I'll try to find a link on the video I've seen that I used back in the day and Try to get it over to you
@@josephpacheco7508 awesome. Thank you!
Was that truck blue and silver originally?
So I was told. I bought it black. Unsure of previous color
@@ChilsonsOutdoors pretty sure this is my uncle old truck
What state was it last known?
where are those dual shock mount towers from?? are they bolt on? LOVE the truck btw!
Yes bolt on. I do not remember the company. Thank you
@@ChilsonsOutdoors Anytime! thanks for the response!
What leaf springs are you running ?
Unsure on brand but they were 10 inch lift springs
Sooo what’s the gallons per mile on this beast?
It was about 7 but smiling the whole time. So that’s what matters
Just a opinion but with that size lift you need like 45s or 47s to make it "look" right otherwise those 38s look like stocks lol nice truck
The super swampers are 44s.
@@ChilsonsOutdoors my bad i couldve swore you said 38s
@@aaronabney8924 I did have them on it first and I knew they were to small.
@@ChilsonsOutdoors oh ok
how did you keep abs functional
It’s not functional. The Dana 60 that was used didn’t use it.
From what truck was that front solid axle?
From an older ford. It’s a Dana 60 king pin style. So before 1992. F-350
At what pinion angle do you havr in front are you using you're stock driveshaft?
I’m running 1/2” to 0 shims.
On a stock drive shaft ?
I seem to be having a vibration issue on mine cant seem to bug out I have a 12" bds lift kit on 02 silverado similar to yours
It’s been lengthened, that’s it. With a conversion u joint
Are the u joints aligned?
Where did you get your springs
Those came in the truck.
What the point of the solid axle conversion
With a big lift and big tires the independent front suspension doesn’t hold up well when off roading.
Don’t th400 swap it put a 4l80e unit in it they are stronger and have over drive
Thanks man. I won’t be driving on the road anymore, so the overdrive doesn’t matter to me.
What's the deal with the rachet strape
I had the transmission out, so I was using it to hold the engine from tipping back
How many inches of lift in just the front leaf springs? 12”?
JoeyD3 those are 10” springs
Bad Attitude Off Road where do the other 9 inches of lift come from? Body lift and shackle length?
6 inch conversion kit and 3 inch body lift
Did you use the abs wires ?
No, the wires were just tired up to the frame.
@@ChilsonsOutdoors so just brake line? Cause I still get a kickback when I get the brakes and tires of seeing the abs light
@@ChilsonsOutdoors I have the solid axle from 03 Ford F-250 super duty
Yes I only use have the brake lines. Abs fuse is also pulled.
@@ChilsonsOutdoors ok so you get no kickback when you hit the brake?
what sas mount kit did you buy?
Kit was in truck when I bought it, but it was a “SORD”. Sky’s off road design
Badass 👌🏻
Thanks man.
