Very nice, dig the way you put the video together to show the progression of your truck.
Sorry I had to leave you one more comment after you brought it out of the garage for some sunlight wow wow wow wow and wow great job👍👍 what a awesome looking truck💘
...solid axles on leaf springs...WWII Mil Spec...good enough to win the war...more than good enough now...I like it!...I own an '86 K30 dually...so I already have my solid axles and leaf springs...I call it Road Warrior suspension...
I just went from 6in lift leaf lift to 11in coil spring with long arm. 4 link and night and day difference.
@@codyparker679 yeah but now you got allignments and a bunch more bushings to worry about
Love the build, especially the SAS swap. Only other thing I would do is HD front end swap, cab lights, and some boost auto tow mirrors👍👍
procharger soon with the built up 6.0 i swapped in it also has a cowel hood now
Im currently thinking about either getting a RAM or a Chevrolet but since watching this video my interest is peaked with the Silverado, nice truck dude
Yeah man GM is the way to go. Thanks!
Gm all the way
Awesome job looks great 👍

Awesome transformation of an awesome Bowtie!!!
Thanks!
This video made my day. Gives me an idea of what I want to do to my dads old truck, he would've loved it.
Great to hear man!
Damn, I'm blessed to have a 02 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3
I have an 02 Silverado 4.8 with 267,xxx miles and still going strong. The trucks are bulletproof man
Luis Ramirez What all have you done to it.? i just bought a single cab with a 4.8 200k miles for dirt cheap but all sorts of things are wrong with it
@@Mw_bill Mine has all sorts of problems... 1 major, the rest minor... The major is due to neglect though. The rear always had a droning sound ever since I got the truck. I started with the differential fluid. It was a metallic sludge 😞. I filled it with fresh fluid and it runs ok but now it doesnt engage the way it used to. So now I either have to rebuild the diff or buy one for $400 at the junkyard... The rest is really just an electrical issue. My dashboard control button lights dont work... The cluster does, the dash lights dont. And the last one happened just recently. I usually leave my key in the ignition and I lock the truck with the remote. I had to get a ride home and get the extra key and I brought my extra remote as well...it didnt work either so I had to get in with my key. I read that it might be the BCM... Other than that... Nothing big
@Cockstruction Worker Bulletproof as in the engine and transmission... The rest is from the previous owner's neglect... And when I say neglect I mean that in every aspect of the word. And the engine and transmission are still running like new
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra denali 6.0 and still running good
Nice looking toy man...ni e that you documented all the changes.....
Recently installed SS NFAB steps as well as dual Bilstein stabilizers using a PMF dana 60 bracket! Next up comes a portal drop for the transfer case so I can run the custom front driveshaft without ruining the u joints leaving the driveway...
Lifted Silverado Build hey
Lifted Silverado Build hey bro great looking build if you don’t mind me asking what springs do you have in the front and do you still have the body lift on in the end?
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TRUCK got a 01 crew cab duramax dually loaded same color i ordered it new ...i'm using yours as a template for mine with a couple twists !! LOVE IT !!!
Thanks! More plans for the truck coming soon
Real nice transformation timeline
Hell of a good video young man!! that reminded me of myself when I was your age. Absolutely beautiful truck I love that body style and the colors perfect too!! Great job 👍
thank you!
I have been wanting a truck like this since I was mugging bogging on my bike. I wish i could own one of these days 😔
I’m 16 and I’ve started working on my truck lately, it’s an 03 Chevy 1500 and I’m hoping one day my truck will look as nice as this.
Holy shit awesome build🤙🏾 laws here are super strict in Hawaii so cannot have any SAS , but I have the same exact truck as you same color and everything. Nice to see how it would look like if I did SAS it. Badass build
Truck looks awesome love this video bad ass
Nice taste, just something that I like about GM trucks, it's all I'll ever own
So clean
Very well put together, one of the best videos I have seen.
Thanks!
Thank god someone who respects trucks got ahold of this truck and not a squatter
I love these types of videos.
Thanks!
I’m more into the lowered trucks but I gotta say. This is a really nice build and you have similar taste as to what I would do if I decided to lift one of my trucks
Btw awesome truck man love the vids I have an 06 but I’m so broke all I could do is level kit and 33 rn😂
dammmmm im impressed.......lots of work..and money too 👍🏻👍🏻🔩🔧🔨🛠
Did you re-gear after going SAS and 40s? What gears are you running with the SAS set up?
It’s a bad ass truck still prefer to build it myself but it’s a killer one looks on point and the guys who did build it did a fantastic job
Yeah man they did it right the first time! Wouldn’t trust myself with the measurements and welding. I don’t have a lift or real place to tackle this long term either haha.
Yeah no it’s a pain to do it I just put a 3” body on mine and it was a pain it looks awesome but I definitely feel the want and need to have a shop do it for you
Yeah I did my 3” body lift back in highschool in the snow haha and the level kit. Didn’t want to take on the fabrication is all, if it was bolt on then I’d be all for it!
Yeah no for sure I love that body style of truck besides the square body it’s the best in my opinion and they look mean when they are built right
Badass truck brother, thanks for sharing!
Robert Grice hey
Such a cool build man u did it all right this body style looks great lifted I may give up my 96 sas for this body style I went with Dana 44s 14 bolt rear nice rig!
Dana 44 is a great axle! Actually had one ready to build up but really wanted 40’s and the 60 was up to the task for that! Thanks man I appreciate it!
Good shit buddy nice truck.
👍 congrats bro, your truck looks sick! I still say you should give it the hd front end. regardless, very cool truck.
Thanks man! I'm done with mods for now, just have to throw on my front driveshaft and NFAB ss steps and she's done! Appreciate it!
i have a 2000 Silverado. Exactly like yours tbh. I plan on doing a build extremely similar to this. Great looking truck man!
Awesome truck! But did I see a missing ft driveshaft?
That's is one hell of a build and I no your pain in the g80 locker mine just went out last week
Haha yeah just tackled an engine swap in 17 degree weather, and yeah that g80 is a bitch
The audio during the good parts of the video:
"Adios!"
RUclips copyrighted my original music. Then chopped up all the replacement youtube music
@@LiftedSilveradoBuild Oh my bad, I was just watching this because I was getting a 02 silverado 1500 z71 here in a couple days and was just looking around for vids like this lol
@@spicyboi522 I just reverted all my videos back to original audio, i didn't know it was possible!
Great build
Hey bud it's me again got a ? How did you get the front drive shaft in what was done to get that finished
Wow .... truck turn out real nice. Great job 👍
Hey bud I just got my truck back from the shop and I'm being told alot of different ways to get the drive shaft installed what did it shop do to get the front drive shaft in
I love how u put the real deal straight axle in front instead of Chevy’s weak ass half shaft bs. Now u just need a tune for them big ol tires because I bet your Speedo’s all outta wack and do a cam &head swap would put it over the top! Excellent job brotha!! U give people inspiration.
Thanks man, I recently built up a 6.0 LQ4 with trickflow heads, fast intake and fuel, beefy cam etc. in the truck. Custom tuned about 5 times to get it right. She moves for a SAS truck on 40’s
I am almost finished with my SAS, Can you tell me what wheel offset and backspacing you have? Did you use spacers? How far are your tires sticking out from the fenders?
did not use spacers, the wheels if i remember are -76 offset 4.5" backspacing. they stick out a good 3-5 inches past my fender flares
Wow just wow 🔥🔥🔥
I love the truck, it's come a long way. It was great even with the 6.5 lift. Great video, and nice to have it saved on here. I could do without the music for sure, I hate having a song stuck in my head (creed) when I'm trying to sleep. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Thanks man! Yeah, I regret putting Creed on there but the lyrics were spot on (kinda)
I love everything about the truck
i love it. i also have an 02 i picked up not long ago. 14 inch lift on 37s. its my project im redoing the whole thing ground up
right on man! thank you
your welcome man
mine sat for alittle over 2 years had an oil leak. fixed that, i changed all lights cause the headlight housing on passenger side melted and burned from hid's, wiring hack job on the Installation of aftermarket alarm, no heat or defrost, ac either but i dont use ac anyway
This video is so awesome man. Such a badass truck
Thanks man! You have a sweet build too man! Where's the SAS? Heard you were about to go through with one
Tristan hey
How much did it cost you a total how much does it cost for plastic dipping
really clean simple truck! turned out great~!
Glad to see some other good ole VA boys
What’d you do about your transfer case? Did you swap it for a 241?
Awesome build!!
Wait. Did you connect thre frt driveshaft?
Where did you get the straight axle swap kit from? Was it a bolt on or weld on and how much did it run you?
ORI in winchester welded it all together. The kit for the leaf springs is from SKY offroad designs fits a dana 60 axle
Is that Dana 60 off a 78-79 Ford? Also did you build the sas or buy it? If you bought it, where from and how does it hold it? I am in the process of getting all the parts to conquer this. The axle I have is the Dana 60 king pin high pinion off a 79 Ford.
Dana 60 is off of a 83-88 Ford. The SAS brackets are from SKY off road. Kind of thin metal but it holds great. Springs are RCX 6"
Did you plastidip the lower part of your front bumper (the piece the fog lights are on)? I want to black out that part of mind but I wasn’t sure about using plasti dip on plastic and I don’t want it having a faded look, yours looked dark black.
Yeah I used plasti dip to see if I liked it so I could easily go back to grey! (Won’t last long, doesn’t adhere well to plastic) Since then I’ve had the lower valance off, I personally like it better with the lift and stance.
How much money did you spend to get it looking right for you?
Damn that thing looked good at the end
What did you do to correct your exhaust and driveshaft issues I'm about to do this same build with an 03 2500hd using th super duty axle
Man I cant wait until I can get my truck back on the road. I had to redo the bushings & have the AC looked at by a mechanic. The front end was completely redone at $1380 hit but the AC now is still not working for what ever reason they cant find out but I'm at $1000 on the AC work now. But the best part now is that the truck is over heating since all the work started, LOL. They removed my fan to wire up some cheap ass fans that cant cool down the truck and even better, they wired the fans to my led bar switch for what ever reason so that's the best part. So now I get in my truck, turn on my none working AC and the new shitty fans turn on for no good reason but extra wind and my LED bar is on at the same time. LMAO!!!!!
CHEVY BOY!!!! Time for a new mechanic!
Have some one teach you to do it yourself
That's unfortunate. I used to work for GM and even though dealerships are expensive we don't just chuck parts at the vehicle we fix it...
Lifted Silverado Build what kind of shocks are u running? Bilstein?
yeah custom length
Nice truck man. How does that 5.3 hold up with the 40s? I dont see a gas engine liking that too well. Maybe a LBZ with Allison swap in future?
i built up and swapped in a 6.0 it has plenty of powe nowr.Cam, heads, intake etc. The trans is fully upgraded to handle as well!
I have a couple videos on it. Haven't posted a video in a long time but a lot has changed on the truck
Did the same shit until I crashed and flipped my truck on its side now I’m starting all over again buying new truck and lifting it
What size was your original rough country lift? What size tires could you run with it? Also did affect wear that bad ? Thank you in advance
Original was just a leveling kit, rear block and different indexes torsion keys. Max you should go with that is 285/75R16 (stock rim about 32.8”). If you keep the cranking of the torsion keys at minimal then you shouldn’t notice any real premature wear on suspension components. It’s when people get into maxing them out and stuffing full size 33” and 35” Tires when the CV’s and ICA’s are at an indesireable angle. If you want to run offset or a full size 33/35” tire with a leveling kit then keep the cranking down and put a 3” body lift on. Otherwise a 6” lift is recommended
Thanks for the reply man I appreciate it
beautiful transformation!
Beautiful truck
Thanks!
I saw this truck on a site that's selling a SAS kit for 99-04 super duty axles; What year did you end up going with? Did you have to cut and move spring perches to get the right line-up?
Yeah man SKY off road requested pictures of the truck. You can use any dana 60 that had leaf spring axles to my understanding. The axle I have is a kingpin dana 60 out of a 83-87(?) Ford. You might have to cut and relocate the brackets but I'm not sure. That's really no big deal once you get that far in with removing the IFS and installing, positioning and welding the brackets!
Beautiful build, bro.
How much did your truck cost to build before the SAS lift? I'm looking into building an 03 1500
good info on how far a 2wd silverado can be lifted... I'm working on a 6" tailgate waist high lift for trail rides.
Hey man I have a similar truck is the 4.56 enough or would 4.88 be better I run 4.10 now and it struggles on free way with any hill or head wind just curious how your 4.56 is
4.88 with 40's for sure or even 5.13's but with the new cammed, heads, intake 6.0 i have it pulls great cant even tell i have 4.56's
How much rpm you turning at 75/80 and does it have to downshift for small/medium hills?
I was thinking about doing something like what you did for my 2000 Chevy Z71 and I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on what to do or what you would have done differently along with about how much the build cost. Thanks
Brandon Daves
35” tires + wheels = $1500 to $3000
6” lift kit + install = $1400 to $2500
Aftermarket lights = $70-400
Window tint = $25-$500
My 2001 Chevy Z71 is in process
I'm buying a '04 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 130k on it next week! Looking forward to building it up slowly like this! How much have you spent on it total and what is the time frame it took to do it all?
Dream truck
Nice video bro , Im in Connecticut , Didn't know you boys in Virginia got that much snow 👍🏻😎
Every once in a while.. Thanks man!
Were you able use the electronic transfer case with the SAS and actually have four wheel drive
Mine works and i run 39.5s have more issues ripping ears off drive shafts.
Where did you find the brackets for a 1500??
I got the same truck, love it.
Camo and rap music don't go together in my opinion, but that is a beautiful truck. Love how she sounds 😍
"They go togeather like lamb and tunafish" lol
Chevy kicks ass nice truck
did you use a kit or welded pieces together just wondering what brackets they are
What did you use for the steering components? I've got the same model in 2006 that I'm looking to do. I've got the Kingpin D60 but I haven't worked out how I'm gonna do the steering linkage and stuff.
should be matched to the year axle you have, with a drop pitman arm
They sell a crossover steering kit. I believe Sky Offroad sells it. Pitman arm, crossover steering link, and the high steer arm to bolt on the knuckle on the passenger side
Freaking awesome truck great job PS I have the same truck in pewter but mine is a rare Factory z85 with Factory heavy duty suspension not a Z71 with only 198000 original kilometre John from Winnipeg Canada I mean winterpeg laughing out loud good video and beautiful truck
And sorry mine's 2000 z85
That’s a nice truck man! Not trying to tell you what to do but them fender flares will rust that beauty. I’d hate to see a perfect truck like that rust and I’m sure you would too.
love your truck ,nice work you did 😎
When are you going to put the rest of the lift in
explain lol
Cool truck
Is that partial body lift after the sas?
Im doing a sas on mine but with a dana 44 could you show pictures of steering box and where youve got it located
What size tires? I know 60's are more expensive and harder to find but in the long run, Dana 60's are the way to go.. anything 37" + I would go with the 60. Steering box is in the same location haha, just a drop pitman arm to your crossover steering components.
How much were the fender flares and whered ya get them? witch the paint match
They’re bushwhacker pocket style fender flares took it to a paint shop that I have a good relationship with and they did a pretty good job matching it
Hey brother i still love you truck is a beautiful one👍
