A man yes i feel old in that time I had a 1991 grand marquis with a 5.0 and to buy a mustang in that time was so expensive for a 19 year old with a part time job so I started to fix the marquis transmission shift kit, differential and mustang parts and some crown Vic police interceptor parts to that one of my friends dad had crashed I made a frankenstein of that car and I was amazed that it could keep up with the old 5.0 mustangs GTs
I got the same truck but mone has the metallic grey down the bottom of it I love the dark indigo blue. I'm painting the bottom grey part black and deleted the chrome.

What about the bump stops in the rear? It should have longer ones too, if you loaded up with some weight the springs will over bent and get damaged because there's no bump stop to stop them from over benting, what hell..

according to custom offsets you tube video don't crank up torsion bars after any lift is installed otherwise ride quality will be poor So im wondering if you want a good ride buy a lift that is 2 inches more then you plan on using ?

@@haydenreyes4621 maybe, but resetting/custom leafs has been a thing since forever. Lifting with blocks is a terrible idea when it comes to actually off roading. Used to frequently drive a friends truck with 6 inch blocks in it, had axle hop from hell when it broke traction on a hill or in sand.

In 2000, the Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban got the GMT800 upgrade. Your truck, a heavy duty pickup didn't get the GMT800 treatment until 2001. It sure was a strange transition for GM trucks and suv's, but also the beginning of their decline as well. Both of you are lucky to have those trucks, they are the last of the good ones. My 1999 Z71 looks just like this one, but sunburnt BAD. The truck has over 300k(rebuilt trans at 240k), and still runs strong! Keep them forever if you can boys, they don't make em like this anymore...

Look, I've taken the load off my torsion bars and tried to take them out.....they don't slide out like that, not at all. I'm guessing there was a whole lot of work done off camera to get them to slide out like that. Maybe on a brand new truck then would but a truck that has been used and has any kind of rust down there....not a chance
dwalmop2 The taller tires lifted the entire truck including the axles higher off the ground & the lift kit raised everything above the axles even higher.
I just need a good three inch lift on my 02 silver....besides she sees the highway 99 percent of the time....and these kits cost an arm and middle leg...anyone know of a cheap way to raise the front 3 inches besides cranking on the torsion bars?
I love how every bolt and component just comes off freely here....fast forward 20 years and you need the strength of a Roman God to do any of this!

This modification makes it easier to drive down a dirt driveway every 5 years or get you to the mall with ease. Definately justifies installing this.
