    Paula’s record was so incredible because it was in the days before the super shoe too. Really puts it into perspective how fast those times are. Blows my mind. Well done on 1km though!!

    Nice experiment! Good effort!
    I remember back in the days when I was still interested in Tour de France and was training for my crossing the Alps by mountainbike tour. Was quite fit back then and could hold their total average speed of an insane ~40km/h for like 2minutes. After that I could hear the heartbeat behind my ears and my bpm were at 197. Insane. But then the doping scandal hit and I lost interested in the Tour de France.

    • @korganrocks3995
      @korganrocks3995 Год назад

      That's the thing I don't understand about doping in performance sports... You'd think the authorities would realise that the only draw of their sport is the physical achievement, and if it turns out the athletes are doping then what's the point of watching? I'm a soccer fan, and if it turned out all the top teams were systematically doping I'd be really angry and disappointed, but I watch the sport for the skill, not the athleticism, so I wouldn't lose interest in the sport itself. Besides, Manchester City won the big three trophies this season with 115 corruption charges pending, so it's not like top teams cheating would be a shock...

    Hi! High school runner here. As the upcoming XC season is looming ever so close my goal was a sub 20 5k.
    My stats:
    5k pb (fall 2022): 20:48
    mile pb (feb 2023): 5:30
    2 mile pb (winter 2022): 12:40
