Paula’s record was so incredible because it was in the days before the super shoe too. Really puts it into perspective how fast those times are. Blows my mind. Well done on 1km though!!
@@thisisjogon sorry, underestimating your mammoth efforts 🤣🤣 well done on 1.2km!! I don’t think I could even complete one lap at that pace! Every metre counts 🥵
Amazing. I can't imagine keeping up my best 5k pace for a marathon (or even my best 10k), let alone this kind of pace. Thank you for showing how amazing these people are.
This is so cool because I train for Bedford and county at that athletics stadium all the time and I’ve some park run with Rebeca Murray and my friends mum used to train with her 😂
Dont know where you come up with your ideas for your videos but another good one and a brilliant effort, i feel like swallowing sick just watching it let alone trying it.
Some of your videos bring a tear to my eye because of the emotion of the video - this one brought a tear to my eye for very different reasons. I can’t imagine hitting that pace 😂
That was as entertaining as it was painful for you!! 😂 Great video. It's just insane at how fast those paces are. Well done for holding out for 3 laps. It's easily a new 1500m track record at that pace for you, Harry
Nice experiment! Good effort! I remember back in the days when I was still interested in Tour de France and was training for my crossing the Alps by mountainbike tour. Was quite fit back then and could hold their total average speed of an insane ~40km/h for like 2minutes. After that I could hear the heartbeat behind my ears and my bpm were at 197. Insane. But then the doping scandal hit and I lost interested in the Tour de France.
That's the thing I don't understand about doping in performance sports... You'd think the authorities would realise that the only draw of their sport is the physical achievement, and if it turns out the athletes are doping then what's the point of watching? I'm a soccer fan, and if it turned out all the top teams were systematically doping I'd be really angry and disappointed, but I watch the sport for the skill, not the athleticism, so I wouldn't lose interest in the sport itself. Besides, Manchester City won the big three trophies this season with 115 corruption charges pending, so it's not like top teams cheating would be a shock...
Great video. It's difficult for us mortals to grasp how quick the elites run, but this helps put into context. Kipchoge did 8 back-to-back 15 minute park runs! Yikes!
@@thisisjogon Great thanks, Harry. Been doing some local Parkruns- thoroughly recommend Durlston Country Park next time you're in Dorset. I know you like a challenge!
Superb effort & superb video 📽 Sawyer Jnr and I ran a 10 x 400m interval session around a block near home recently. We raced our last rep; he ran 1.28 to my 1.39 🥵
Hi! High school runner here. As the upcoming XC season is looming ever so close my goal was a sub 20 5k. My stats: 5k pb (fall 2022): 20:48 mile pb (feb 2023): 5:30 2 mile pb (winter 2022): 12:40 I’ve been running constantly and am determined. Would the sub 20 mark be a goal I should be aiming for or should I be aiming for more? Thanks on any opinion 😊
Great vlog as always Sir Harry. I haven’t given up on the idea of running, but for me it just seems impossible. Do you hear from runners who never thought they’d do it? Asking for a friend 😅
You make a great point here Martin - it's a practice in ego obliteration, though perhaps running does that anyway. Becca is superb, Paula is superb, I am but a humble witness to their running greatness
@@thisisjogonI say this as someone who loves running… If I went to park run I should aim for roughly what I can achieve..(just under 20m) Me running with people running 14.50 is genuinely gonna piss me off 🤣

1.2km
Mental running from Paula
@@thisisjogon sorry, underestimating your mammoth efforts 🤣🤣 well done on 1.2km!! I don’t think I could even complete one lap at that pace! Every metre counts 🥵
That was great, Harry!
It is amazing how easy the elite runners can make those paces look. I guess that's why they are elite...
Thanks!
Amazing. I can't imagine keeping up my best 5k pace for a marathon (or even my best 10k), let alone this kind of pace. Thank you for showing how amazing these people are.
Thank you April and hoping that you are doing well
You need far more recognition for your content!
Very kind. Doing it for the love of running and film, it people watch, then great 🧡
Absolutely insane pace for Paula’s record. And Kipchoge…well he’s superhuman!
Another great video Harry 👌🏻
Crazy eh
Another great video. Those world record times are absolutely amazing. When I see Kipchoge run it does make sense though, it looks effortless.
Would love for this to have felt effortless, but it was very much effortfull
@@thisisjogon I make running look very hard!
Both insane records and great work to you and Becca!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Becca is a superb runner

Hoping this finds you well Chris
Ha, yes it felt very very fast!
Nice to see you sporting this year's ABP Southampton shirt Harry, it's a beauty that's in regular rotation for my runs atm
A rare lack of orange in this video - and yes you're right, it is a great top

1500m coming up Graham - a new pb? Perhaps
@thisisjogon i got a new 1500m PB last month at the AFD open, so I'm gonna try the 3000m this month for a new PB 😊😊
As a 400m runner I'd love to try this challenge. Thanks for another great video.
Go for it! Cheers for watching and supporting
Yikes, those 3 laps looked like pain! Harry is just a mega beast!!

Interesting read. It’s a mad world
Absolutely brilliant Harry! Those times are insaaaaaane! 😅
Aren't they just
Top stuff Harry 👍
👍
Awesome job mate
Cheers for watching Matthew
Love how I recognised Cross St, Sale from that short Murray/Small clip at the start.
That's impressive Mack

Hello Harry, that was an informative video thank you. What mechanism do you film 🎥 with as you run 🏃♂️? 🙏
Mostly GoPro for the portability
Thank you for watching 🙏
Thanks 🙏 for that bit of information ℹ️! I always enjoy watching all your videos.
No surprise Paula kept that record for so long, amazing pace and stamina!
Absolutely
Her record is probably equivalent to a sub 2:13 nowdays with the carbon fibre plated shoes
Makes you wonder

Sounds like a great session Colin

Incremental, just tick them off as you go - go smash it
Hoka Rocket X. What a fantastic race shoe.
Great shoe
Three laps at that pace is still really good.
🔥
A very tidy pace ! Im confident Harry that you could run 4 laps at this pace now however
I think it may be possible Jim, time will tell!
Thanks and well done on some great running today
My home track growing up!!

Hey Harry, are you planning on coming to any parkruns in South Wales?
Currently in talks with Welsh tourism board about parkruns in Wales
Cardiff Half, maybe see you there

And remember, there were no “super” shoes in 2003.
Absolutely. All the more crazy
Looks like someone’s secretly training for a sub 16 at the next Barrowford podium 😁

Great job running at that pace! Wow, I got some training to get unto speed 😂
Don't we all, a great morning
Harry can you do the newbury greenham common parkrun
With over 700 parkruns in the UK it's hard to choose. Maybe one day
@@thisisjogon You don't think wearing Rocket Xs at Greenham might be regarded as provocative by the pro and ant-cruise missile movements?
Well done... I'd barely be able to run 400m at that pace.
It felt rather pacey
The hell where were you in Southampton marathon this year I was at the same spot where we met and sadly I didn’t see you
But then I was onto control
A great event, another time
Honestly, the speed is bonkers. 2+ hours of that? Yikes.
Crazy
it'll be the British record for a long time, even with super shoes and developments in juicing
Super duper shoes
HARRY THE BOSS!
LEWIS THE OTHER BOSS
Now do it in the same shoes Paula was using, go on you know you want to
Something tells me her feet were a bit smaller
Getting a pacer was a very smart move! 😅
It helped a lot
the only guys who finished ahead of Harry in that 10K, where he PRed, were skinny as rails
skinny as rails is a heck of a description
