I wanted to try and take a person who doesn’t run at all to their very first 5K, in the form of a parkrun. To make this even more difficult, I would have just 4 weeks in which to achieve this.
In the third and final part of the Anne-Marie trilogy, it was time for Ami to take on her first ever 5K parkrun. Could she do it? I knew we'd give it our best shot...

Giving a JOG ON video a LIKE can really help, so we'd be grateful if you find the time to. Thank you
That was fantastic!
I actually cried at the end when she was going to the finish line.
Everybody must be so proud of her!
What's an amazing lady.
I really wish I was able to do as well as her.❤❤
Well done!!! 32 minutes for your first park run is an incredible time.
The girl did good
@@thisisjogon she ran an incredible time with her incredible helpers
A very nice time for a first 5k in her life. It would be nice to have some follow up in a few months. Thanks Harry and Louise. Great Job Anne Marie.
Agreed although I noticed this was run in August and AMI hasn't done anymore Parkruns since. Hopefully she is still getting out, using her new running experience and running in her own way.
I'm pleased to report that Ami is still running. She has gotten herself to 25 minutes non-stop. Keep an eye out: that sub-30 attempt video may be here sooner than you might think...
Anne-Marie is a certified running legend
Some say on a dark night you can hear a light breeze and the steady pit-pat of Anne-Marie's feet running across the frosty ground, working towards that sub-30
I've started running again since about 2 months ago and ran my first parkrun yesterday. I didn't even know parkruns were a thing until I started watching your videos so thanks for that. Ended up running a 24:38 which is a PR since I started up again.
awesome well done indeed, keep it up and thank you for watching
Well done Anne-Marie! Today I was meant to do a 25 minute run as part of my C25K but after running for 30 minutes I stopped for a minute to take a photo of my Fitbit and carried on until I finished 5k. Took me 42 minutes including 5 minutes walking at the start and a minute stopped taking a photo at the 30 minute running mark. This channel has increased my determination to push myself.
well done mate !! it's crazy how much your body can do when you really put your mind to it :)
@@annac4383 Thank you. I had stitch after a minute but it went away quickly and I found I could just carry on.
Love this - thank you 🔥 🙏
Woke up this morning hoping this video would be in my queue, and it WAS!!! That's a hella good time for a first 5k! Min was more like 43min. Absolutely fantastic.
Cheers Lisa
I got goosebumps watching this! As someone who just started "seriously" running a few weeks ago and following a training plan to run my first park run in about 5 weeks I am so inspired and honestly can't wait for it!
Fantastic. Thank you very much and wishing you well with your journey
I wish I'd had someone putting water on my neck during the Yorkshire Marathon yesterday 😂 Huge congratulations to Ami for completing her first parkrun. As a regular parkrun runner and volunteer it's always special to see people complete their first - hopefully the first of many!
It's expensive, but a personal neck water dabber can be a big help in these races
I told myself I wouldn’t get emotional… damn this feel good series!!! Well done Ami !!!!!
I proper did!!! There were tears and everything
I appreciate you watching Jamie
Great seeing my timing marker signs.
Legendary Richard
This was beautiful, truly had a tear at the end. As someone just looking to start my own journey like this, this series was very motivational. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching
Very inspiring. I’ve got my first 5k 4 weeks today, with no running experience. I’ll reply to this message the day after with the result
Awesome look forward to it. Enjoy yourself
@@thisisjogonpulled my calf 2 weeks before but I managed to finish it in 39 mins 🎉
Purchasing your plan really enabled me to even have a chance of completing it so thank you!

This has popped up on my page the day I have completed my first 5k race at age 26 and I feel so much empathy with Ami and actually quite emotional watching this. Going from no running to a 5k run can happen quicker than you think and once you’ve done it, the mental realisation of, “oh, well what else can I do that I didn’t think I could do” is life changing. Super well done Ami and the team! 💛🏅
Absolutely, thanks for sharing and well done on your first 5K race!
I'm someone who's never done any running and always had poor cardiovascular endurance despite being physically strong... I decided to jog three times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) for seven weeks in preparation for a Parkrun -- started at 2km and added 0.2km each run until I reached 5km. I began training on a treadmill at 8.5km/h speed and a 1% incline until 3.8km, then from 4km to 5km I jogged outside for real.
I did my first Parkrun (Hove Promenade) last weekend and achieved a time of 29:24 which I'm really happy with as my PB whilst training was 31:55.
I now intend jog at least one Parkrun every other month, and it was channels like this that gave me the inspiration to start in the first place so thank you very much Harry!
Brilliant, well done and thank you for watching
Great run and great series. Well done, Ami!! Excellent coaching by Harry and GB Louise. Careful Ami, I went from 0->5k->10k-> half marathon training in less than two years. Whatever amount you go for I hope you enjoy every run the future offers.
🧡
It's great seeing people achieve things they've previously seen as difficult. It always inspires me to try something that I currently see as 'too difficult'.
Well done all!!!
Thanks Rachael for always watching
I started running some time ago after watching this series of videos. I wanted to improve my fitness and found I related a lot to Ami, right down to describing myself as slim but flabby. Inspired, I started on my journey and today completed my 25th park run with a new PB of 23:00!
I just wanted to post this to say thank you to Harry and all the other contributors to Jog On. I'm sure I'm far from the only one who started because of motivation gained from watching the channel.
Fantastic well done
GREAT EFFORT FOR HER FIRST 5 KM WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN YOUR RUNNING JOURNEY
Cheers Stephen
Don't know why I felt emotional watching that. Well done Ami 👏 I hope this is just the start of her parkrun journey.
She will return
Contragulations to Ami on completing your first parkrun! 👏👏💪💪 Well done to the Jog On Crew (especially Louise and Harry) for spurring Ami to this incredible achievement and supporting her every step of the way! 👏

Well done to Anne-Marie! Plenty of parkruns in the local area to get stuck into now :)
Matt Lee knows - I hope that we can bring out an update
Well done to Ami and fair play for sticking to it, really great to see. Just gutted she's beaten my Parkrun PB already in her first attempt.
Thank you for watching
I was crying when she crossed the finish line. What have you done to me 😍
🧡
That power walk guy is a legend! =]
Some say that he's still walking to this day
Amazing well done Anne-Marie!
I have very recently started doing the park run in Cannock Chase, today I completed my 5th 5k. I’m currently on a weight loss journey and have currently lost 2.5st.
My first park run I ran a 35 minute 5k with today completing in 28.40.
I would love to get this to sub 20 but being 17st I can’t see this happening.
Thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to more videos!
Thanks Harry.
Amazing Jake, thank you for supporting and I wish you all the best with your own running journey
Harry
Oh God. Why did this make me cry? 🙈 Well done Ami! You can be so proud of yourself! Well done! 👏👏👏👏
🧡
This is amazing. As someone who came from nothing being over weight and mentaly broken 8 years ago park run got got me running that 1 5km at a time to now having done my first Iornman Last year, to heading towards Iornman Wales in 2023. These videos really show how much help running and exersise can help with so much. I am still trying to get to 50 parkruns as i spen most of my sat doing long runs elsewhere. To have that alternative to couch to 5km is briliant and looks so much fun.
Love it Mat, thanks for sharing
A fitting conclusion to the epic trilogy, bravo Ami

Been waiting for this video! Ami you are amazing! The big thing is, this is just the beginning - what is next! Join a running club now you can run 5K and you can see your running pick up in ways you want it to (getting more comfortable with 5K is what I did when I started out)!
Great comment Josie, so true.
Congratulations jog on team and Anne Marie, i do hope you carry on as the running community is the best most fun and happiest kindest family, really really pleased for you,
She has been Jenny - an update hopefully will arrive in the near future
I must admit I shed a tear! Well done Ami!

wow nice of Darren wood to be there to join in the support
It was so fitting for Darren to be there
Congrats 👏 Ami! So proud of you! I've enjoyed the series. Thanks to all involved. Also super cool you ended up with a 4th 'team member ' as extra support!!
Love that you followed along
thats actually a good time for a first timer....well done!
Back for a sub-30 perhaps
Well done Anne Marie! You’ve done it! And also a great time for your first ever 5K run. I hope you keep continuing running. Props for you Harry. Couch to 5K in four weeks is a challenge but, as we could see, is possible. Loved the series!
Definitely possible with the right person, thank you for following this journey
Great job Anne Marie, and thank you Harry for picking Edenbrook Parkrun as your test run for the 4 week training video series.
Cheers Matthew, thanks to Edenbrook for offering a great course that was very fit for purpose for what I was looking for: atmospheric, flat and scenic
Congratulations! Loved the series. Thanks for making it! - Mack
Cheers Mack, it's people like yourself watching it that makes it worth it
I really liked that speech at 6:50! I ve completed my 20th parkrun and do it weekly. It’s enabled me to be more consistent than I ve ever been before. I ve also met some amazing people. The running community is incredible! Congrats Ami and thank you Harry for being a legend

@@revision2406 keep it up mate!!!
Thanks for much for watching and supporting this trilogy
Happy tears for Ann Marie! What a great job! I've done 4 5ks, and two times of 44:44, and other was 36:18 getting better every day. I can't wait to do more 5ks! Hello from Colorado 👋🏼😎🏃🏼♀
Hello Colorado!
Thanks so much Caroline
Harry
Inspiring! Hopefully Ami will soon be tearing around parkruns on your heels Harry.
I didn't start running until I was 65 and, on taking up parkrun, was delighted to learn that when I slowed to a walk I wasn't wimping-out, I was jeffing.
Must say, I could have done with Louise Small administering water on the way round. Must say: I still could, especially in the big events between 10k and marathons (I've done two)> Lumping a bottle of water around at my age is wearying.
I hope so David.
A personal neck water dabber is handy
I've loved watching this series. A huge well done to Ami for her first 5k. Here's to many more in the future.
Thank you for another great video Harry 🧡
Loved creating it and being a part of it, thank you for always being supportive of my work Dave
Ami huge congratulations on a tremendous effort.
It would be really great if you could keep up the running. Well done also to Harry and Louise for such enthusiasm and encouragement throughout 👏
Thanks a lot Paul
Well done Ami great running! Also well done Harry and GB Louise!
Cheers Ryan
This series was AMAZING and very inspiring, fantastic job Ami and the crew!
Thank you for being a part of it.
Excellent finale to the series! Congrats Ami, I hope you keep going, you have momentum on your side now! Great stuff Harry and GB Louise. Jog on!
Thank you for watching and supporting this trilogy, it means a lot
Super running Ami. Well done team Jog On!
Cheers Vivien!
Amazing! Congratulations Ami, you stuck with the training with a smile, I think you're capable of a sub 30 min run easily
She is indeed, watch this space for a follow up...
Absolutely smashed it, well done Anne-Marie!
Thank you for watching this trilogy
Fantastic effort from Ami, it really helps having someone there to pace you and encourage you. I paced my friend’s daughter to a 32:12 on Saturday so I can so relate to this. Brilliant result 🎉
Wonderful Christina
What a fantastic mini series this is. I have only just discovered your channel today and it is excellent. Well done to Ami and to all of you for putting this together.
It actually made me very emotional having gone through the journey of non-runner to runner myself very recently. I started about 4 months ago on the back of some difficult things happening in my personal life. It has been life changing and I credit Parkrun for being a big part of it. I have done lots of it on my own but actually, with things like Parkrun and online communities like Strava and other social media groups, you are never truly alone and that is so motivating.
I am running my 10th Parkrun this week and have even managed to convince a few friends to get on board too, with one of them doing their first one this coming Saturday. I have gone from being a non-runner to running a PB of 25.44 last week at Parkrun and I ran a 10k PB of 58.46 literally today. If you would have told me I would do that at the time you filmed this I would have thought you were insane. It is amazing what all of us can do if we put our minds to it and throw ourselves in fully. I am even joining a local running club in the spring!
If anyone is reading this that hasn't started but is thinking about starting, my advice would be to take those first steps no matter how scary they seem because you will not regret it.
Keep up the good work - Running changes lives for the better :)
Thank you James, means a lot. This trilogy was a mammoth effort.
Great comment and superb to know it's going so well for you.
I'll be at a parkrun myself this Saturday - what are the chances we end up at the same one out of all of them out there?
Cheers for supporting what I make
Harry
@@thisisjogon I am now binge watching all of your back catalog of content whilst pretending to work! I very much enjoyed the 500k January series. I have been doing Red January this month and set myself a goal of 100k - I am at 80k and just about to do a 10k today. To have done 5 times that much is some achievement 👏👏👏
We were at very different Parkruns on Saturday but the one you did is definitely on my to-do list - I am near Colchester and did the hilliest of our local triumvirate at Highwoods Country Park...it is tricky in places but has no 'Dune of Doom' to contend with! Looking forward to the video of that one.
I will be ordering my Jog On running top soon...I love extremely bright colours and your content so it's an easy sale! :)
Well done Ami. Great work on this series, I really enjoyed it. I'm never showing this to someone I am inviting to Parkrun.
I started Parkrun doing a lot of walking I I believe anyone can come and join the fun without running at all.
Keep up the good work Harry.
Thank you Damian
That power walk was something, well done Annie, may this be the start of your running journey and onto the next goal.
He was certainly moving. We hope so
Great work all round. 2 dedicated coaches and a receptive 'pupil' always help. Marathon next year Ami?! 👏 💪 🏃♀️
Absolutely Phil. I think she's looking to break 30 and then we'll see what the next goal is
Well done Ami 👏Inspired me to return to Parkrun

YES AMI!! that was incredible - what a cracking first 5km time too x
Cheers Bronagh for always watching
Fantastic Ami, well done n superb time for a first 5km. No stopping you now. Great support from Harry n GB Louise the very skilled water dabber lol
Nothing like a good personal water dabber to get you round a 5K
Brilliant effort..as someone who has only just started Parkruns Anne Marie has my upmost respect..fantastic

Massive well done 👏👏 Don't stop now...
She hasn't
Incredible series Harry! Loved it! Well done Anne-Marie! 🎉
Thank you Rosie, hoping that you're well 🧡
A great achievement for Ami. It takes me back to my first parkrun after the couch25k back in Dec 2017 and yesterday I completed my second marathon. Once you get that running bug it stays with you (Along with the sore leg muscles)
That bug can bite
Bought the course for my partner as she’s finally taking the jump into running, looking forward to doing it with her, looks well thought out and the complimentary strength work looks newbie friendly too 👍
Amazing Graham, I hope she enjoys it and thank you for following this trilogy
Congrats Ami! I have loved this series, well done Harry. Please can we have another vidoe in a few weeks to see where Ami’s running/parkruns are then. I hope she keeps it up 🤞
That is the plan, we're thinking a sub-30 attempt is on the horizon
I think that it's really good to be reminded that 5K is actually quite a long way to run!
Sure, anyone *can* do it (with some training), but importantly - NOT EVERYONE DOES.
Great work, Anne-Marie, and lovely to see the support of all around her.

Absolutely Clive, thank you 🧡
Well done Anne-Marie 🎉 a great time to start your running journey.
Another great video from Jog On. I still can’t get over how great the editing is.
I love that it's appreciated - it takes an absurd amount of work and late nights to create these so I thank you very much

Well done Ami 🤩 Well done Jog On Team 🤩
Cheers for following this journey
A 32:55 5k in 4 weeks is crazy, what a accomplishment. Ngl i think the time frame of 4 weeks is really pushing it, but Anne-Marie pushed through it all and in the end posted a very good time. She may have had her doubts throughout the project but the physical and mental strength she displayed was amazing to watch and she turned out to be way stronger than she thought. Hope her ankle was fine afterwards.
Appreciate this - shared with Ami
Well done . Great achievement in 4 weeks. Loved the series. Keep it up, please. 🥇🙂
Thank you for joining for the journey of this series Simon
Well done Ami! I hope you’ve found your new Saturday morning obsession 😊

Fantastic work again guys ! Well done Ami ! Hopefully we will see you out in your Jog Kit soon

Excellent Series! :)
That's greatly appreciated Sebastian, superb surname by the way
This is a great way to show that first 5K in a decent time is attainable with good preparation for most. One of the biggest barriers to getting into running is your own mind. Once that first 5K is out the way, confidence grows and whilst you always respect the distance, its never as intimidating again, and can actually be really fun!
Absolutely, thanks for sharing. Confidence is a huge part of this.
This whole series was so good.
That's very kind of you to say, it took a tremendous amount of work

Congrats Ami, great video Harry!
I really hope Ami tries/continues running, especially now, when it's not so hot. Starting training and pushing out your distance in hot weather feels twice as difficult to me! When the cooler weather comes though I feel like I can breeze through distances that would have me crippled previously
She will be back, in cooler conditions

Do not be sad! Let's do sub 30 and then dominate the 10k!
Absolutely
Another great video Jog On team.
Well done all, super strong effort after only 4 weeks as well. Keep the running going Ami, it only gets easier the more you do.
A query though for Harry, with Ami bit quite able to run the whole 5k, do you think you need to extend the programme a little to build the stamina or do you think the heat or her ankle was the issue.
The programme is 6 weeks, we just had to do a shorter, 4 week version, 2 more weeks and she’d have gone that much quicker again. The heat was a big issue
