The 8-Bit Big Band performs one of video games most tranquil and beautiful VGM songs, "Aquatic Ambiance" from the underwater 4th level of Donkey Kong Country, originally composed by David Wise. This arrangement is a contemporary Jazz piano concierto written for and performed by Smart Game Piano 's own piano Sydney Kjerstad! Featuring a ripping alto saxophone solo by Andrew Gould, and a full lush string section to provide cinematic colors to this epic and contemplative melody. Thanks for listening! I LOVE the bend into that note at 2:42 because it sounds EXACTLY how the snes sound chip would bend a note like in the chrono trigger soundtrack or something

This is an amazing rendition of this song. I'd recommend trying out Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts (I&II), as well as any of the other songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu or Yoko Shimomura.

A friend showed me this arrangement several years back, and since then I constantly return to appreciate its beauty. This is an incredible performance! I've wanted to listen to similar music where jazz is infused with orchestral elements. This may be a long shot, but are there similar pieces in that genre, or any inspirations that this arrangement drew from?
