Was gonna complain about the lady only really sweeping one spot and not doing other things. Then i remembered that there's A LADY WHO STANDS IN ONE SPOT AND GOES NOTHING BUT SWEEP IT! Way to stay faithful to the game!
For people who didn't know, this soundtrack was one of the few in the Legend of Zelda series NOT composed by Koji Kondo. He was not present for the project, as the team who made Link's Awakening was originally comprised of volunteer Nintendo employees after hours. Shigeru Miyamoto wasn't even brought on till near the end of the project as a consultant. Mabe Village was composed by Kazue Ishikawa, who also composed the majority of the overworld themes. The other half of the tracks were composed by Minako Hamano. Both of them never having composed for games before. Pretty impressive work if you ask me :O Thanks for updating the credits in the description, guys! :D
Man these arrangements are nothing short of an auditory rapture. Another absolute banger that is so good that if I were Link I would just sleep in a little while longer.
Such a different take on what they did for the remake, but it fits the sleepy little village idea so well! Seeing Captain Toad got a nice little chuckle out of me too
The Neil Hefti-Count Basie stylings really enhance this town's theme so beautifully! One of the best arrangements I've ever heard - bar none. Jimmy's solo = chef's kiss. (OMG, I love this band so much)
This was my first Zelda game - and one of my very first video games at that! I didn’t really understand any of the puzzles, so I never made it much past the Mysterious Forest, so I’m extremely familiar with the Mabe Village theme! Pure nostalgia . . . thank you, Charlie!
Lil Darlin on Atomic Basie is hands down one of my favorite big band ballads. You took great observation in this arrangement and recording, love the way the strings complement this style. Spectacular!
In my head I can hear Marshal Royal playing over this :) Mr. Gould sounds great in the 8bbb way, and its really a testament to both him and the composition that I can love what is here and also hear sweet echoes of the past.
something about this particular song always makes me tear up. I've heard every cover of it and it still tugs at the heartstrings. It being a jazz cover to boot? I feel like I'm in heaven. I had this game when I was 12 and it holds a special place in my heart. so so so nostalgic.
Right there with you. Link's Awakening was the very first Zelda game I ever owned, and one of the first games I actually beat from start to finish. Hearing this rendition of the village theme tugged at the heartstrings, not going to lie.
I love this arrangement. It takes the song in a new direction, but doesn't leave behind anything that I loved about the original. 10/10 will be listening to this a lot
Getting total Guaraldi vibes from this one, and that's aces for me. Also, tuba. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be running this on repeat whilst watching some leaves out a window somewhere.
Link's Awakening will likely always be my favorite Zelda game. I still keenly remember the excitement I felt getting it home the day it released, the fun I had playing it, and that bittersweet, mixed sense of accomplishment and melancholy after the credits rolled. You guys really nailed this one. Simply sublime!
What’s the platform got to do with anything? Quality level is ALWAYS determined by the content makers nothing else. Theres tons of fantastic original music tones found.
Dang, I almost cried by the end. What an incredibly hip and informed arrangement! I always love the tidbits written in the description about where the influence comes from for each arrangement, and I totally hear it!
Absolutely loving this rendition. Have listened to it on loop for several hours now and it hasn't gotten old whatsoever. What a gem! Waiting for you guys to up this on Apple Music so that I can also listen to it on my commutes!
The real composers of this piece are Kazumi Totaka, Minako Hamano and Kozue Ishikawa. Koji Kondo was a sound and music supervisor on the project. So Koji Kondo in fact did not write this piece.
Every time the 8-Bit band uploads, I watch the video 2x: Once for the music, again to watch the fun animations. One of my favorite songs, you guys rock!!
Stunning music as always! Love it! The animation is also amazing. Just a feast for the eyes and ears! But then... so is Jared Schonig. Like, lordy coould he be more dishy?! 😅😆😊😍☺🤗
THIS WAS AMAZING. Like birth of the cool mixed with Henry Mancini. I have been following you guys since lockdown and everyone here is so talented. You’ve inspired me to do an arrangement of a piece in the nutcracker that strayhorn and Ellington left out when they did it. Thank you so much. Also, I would die to here a Benny Goodman bonetroussle arrangement!
I have been excitedly waiting for this the preview was dropped on the Instagram a bit ago. I love this arrangement so much and am not disappointed at all. Thank you so much for the lovely work!!!
Another beautiful song from the GOATs of video game arrangements. (I also include Carlos Eiene and Patrick Bartley on that list.) I do confess I would have erroneously thought that this was a Koji Kondo composition. It's not. Maybe there is a chance he arranged it himself later on? Either way, it's fabulous to hear from you folks again.
Fantastic music. Great arranging, skillful conducting, top-rate playing. Great audio mixing and recording. But whoever edited the video looks like they were getting paid by the cut.
Had a lot of fun animating this!...
And reeeaaaly wish I did a second look and correctly credited Kozue Ishikawa😅
Oh! So, you're the animator for the pixel art! It's quit simple, yet very detailed and animated very well!
@@e-mananimates2274,

Until you progress through the game, then she moves for a bit.
Love how you perfectly incorporate bits of Ballad of the Wind Fish in there.
Wake up babe, new 8BBB cover
Yes, dear
*wakes up - entire island disappears* 😨
Wake up Mabe.

That's most definitely a way to describe the experience.

It should be a crime to release music this good. All of you are amazing! Thank you so much for releasing one awesome song after the next! ❤
i have third degree burns in my ears

The game has puzzles?
You just need to explore more!
Jimmy absolutely MURDERED that solo oh my god
Indeed! He was absolutely stupendous as always.
Thanks for the kind words!!

Same. I've always loved the music boxy sound of the original, and the level of depth they gave this version is amazing.
That Main Theme quote in the piano at the end …. sugar 🔥
Great melody. Great arrangement that swings like crazy. Loved the Johnny Hodges like playing from Andrew and obviously that fantastic bone solo!
Thanks for listening! Also, your username tho lol
I love this arrangement. It takes the song in a new direction, but doesn't leave behind anything that I loved about the original.
10/10 will be listening to this a lot
Man with every cover there’s so much respect to the original material. There’s no one better to pave the way for game music like you guys are!
What an amazing arrangement of this classic zelda song! The mystery and swing that your interpretation brings is truly splendid! ❤
I'm loving the Glenn Miller Moonlight Serenade style flourishes scattered through this arrangement. Excellently done!
Incredible arrangement as always! That trombone solo is everything that is right with the world
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone say that about my playing before! Thanks!!!
Getting total Guaraldi vibes from this one, and that's aces for me. Also, tuba.

Perfect for sleeping in during winter!
This sounds like what I've been daydreaming my anime outro to sound like.
Been looking forward to this arrangement for a minute. Loving the west coasts vibes off this one
Very Cute. You all are bunch of Li'l Darlin's. And beautiful solo from Jimmy!
🙏
This was beautiful. Really making it hard to wait for November for the album.
Strong 'All the Things You Are' vibes in the solos.
Hah that’s true!
I've never vibed harder in my life. Amazing work as always!
Just masterful arranging!
Always an inspiration. Working on a cover right now ;)
You guys are always great but this one especially makes me happy. Love Link's Awakening
Esta hermosura de Bit Band, está a un paso de pasar de Big Band a Orquesta.❤❤
Mi Big Band Favorita por siempre.

I love the Link’s Awakening soundtrack, so this was a joy to listen to! So calming
Love this band frfr
I recently found your channel on yt music, and it is what I have been wanting to listen to for years at this point. Thx!
starting out with the ballad of wind fish is the greatest touch ever.
I'm so hyped for the album next month. You guys really made something beautiful again.
This arrangement is like a dream...
I still can't believe we can get music of this quality on RUclips
What’s the platform got to do with anything?

This band never misses
Lazy Sunday afternoon vibes 👌🏼
i've been waiting for this cover since the first snippet came out on insta! what a great laid back vibe.
Dang, I almost cried by the end. What an incredibly hip and informed arrangement! I always love the tidbits written in the description about where the influence comes from for each arrangement, and I totally hear it!
A trombone solo on an arrangement like this 😭such a perfect choice!✨✨✨✨
AGREED 🙏
@@JimmyOConnell87Jimmy YOU KILLED IT! You and Michael Dease are my favorite bone players around!
@@evanchristman2776 Thanks for listening! That's some high praise!
Having a bad day but 8bit is here to save the day 🥲

^ (bumping for visibility; thanks for acknowledging this in the video description :)
Link's Awakening cover spotted! And it's beautiful!!
I'm amazed about how difficult it should be to be on the exact same tempo with such a strange jazz rythm for the trumpets ! :o
The first and only Zelda title I finished! You breathed new life into a simple tune.
Well what a nice surprise to see you here, JAY WEBB! 1:40 :)
This song is so cemented in my brain from my childhood. Thank you for such a beautiful rendition that brought a tear to my eye 🥲
I LOVE this ballad style on you guys. I always like what you do, and I'd love to hear more like this one. So good.
Every time the 8-Bit band uploads, I watch the video 2x: Once for the music, again to watch the fun animations. One of my favorite songs, you guys rock!!
Quality. Time and time again you guys never cease to amaze me.
I’m astounded at how slick the intro of the trombone solo sounds, given that ITS THE MARIO KART LICK!
Jimmy killed the trombone solo!
Thanks for watching!!!
This game is just so melancholic yet so beautiful
Absolutely brilliant.
5:12 gave me literal chills. 🥹 Can we PLEASE get a full cover of Ballad of the Wind Fish?
This has to be one of my favorite tracks from the franchise.
Beautiful solo, Mr. O'Connell!
I do my best ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this is truly magnificent….you all leave me speechless every time
Stunning music as always! Love it! The animation is also amazing. Just a feast for the eyes and ears! But then... so is Jared Schonig. Like, lordy coould he be more dishy?! 😅😆😊😍☺🤗
One of the first games I ever owned. Beautiful work, band and animator both.

Simply fantastic...so wonderful bigband !

Gorgeous, congrats on this one 🎉❤!!
That's it, just drip feed us little by little until the album drops
Yes yes yes ❤❤❤❤ love this game. Love you guys. Love this rendition. Perfection 👌
Awesome work.
I'm into the intro so much.
Links awakening was one of my first games if not my first so this just give me thank you
That was filthy. I love it.
Stank faces, all around.
This is sooooo good 🔥🔥🔥
This is one of my favorite VGM tunes, and this is such a nice version of it!
Not familiar with this track, but my goodness this arrangement is just fantastic. I love the quiet subtlety and warmth from this piece. Great stuff.
It's a total bomb. A very talented band.
3:41 Bah Bah
Loved this ❤
Gives me Pokemon Diamond and Pearl vibes with the Jazz rendition. Very nice. ❤
You guys are so skilled.
Count Basie himself would be happy to play this gem Bravo
Magical as always.

Finally something from Links awakening!! Amazing
This is just so soft and wholesome
This is my childhood
You just made my day! 😍
Fantastic! Yall should do Ballad of the Windfish!
GORGEOUS
absolutely insane quality
Fantastic music. Great arranging, skillful conducting, top-rate playing. Great audio mixing and recording. But whoever edited the video looks like they were getting paid by the cut.
Agreed, the cuts actually distract from the awesomeness.
Love you guys for giving love to the less known songs :)
This is awesome!
