- Taylor realizes Omar has cut the phone line before Ridge could hear her voice. Omar confronts Taylor about the phone call and tells her he will not let her go. Omar has the guards take Taylor away. Moustafa calls Omar to let him know the wedding is about to begin. Sheila tells James he shouldn't attend the wedding.

This is indeed a crime. An amnesiac regains memory of her identity to learn she has a full, rich life with her one true love, just to have her identity and her life held ransom. This interlude is a fantasy based upon the legendary take of the Arabian Knights in which Layla dies the morning after her wedding to the obsessed psychopath forcing himself on her. Romance? Love? Love does not steal a person's life and force them to submit to sexual slavery. Haven't we heard enough of that so prevalent in the world today. Had Taylor remembered her life but of her own free will chose to remain dead to her old life, choosing the new life, new love...that could be romantic as that is what you do when you divorce one husband eventually remarry another husband. Love can only exist where it is a choice. A forced relationship is abusive and hostile, no matter what the words are that a woman in love craves. Spoken from the wrong lips are poisoned darts to the heart.

Yes, not sure what the point of that was. I suppose it looked “cool” on some location shots. The other one they did was start with the shot and then fade the title in over it - that was nice.
When Taylor first arrived on the Bold and the Beautiful Storm was the only character she had a past with. They were so close. It's insane that he wouldn't bring up her name. In fact, Storm was the only man in Taylor's life that didn't play games with her. Blake was a lunatic. Ridge kept waffling between her and Brooke and James was icky and weird.
I never liked the way Taylor accepted his engagement ring without ever intending to marry him. She should have been honest with him. Not string him along like that.

And when Blake came along, she was doing the same thing by keeping him around. She knew Blake was unhinged and obsessive. And look what happened? Ridge was savagely beaten and left for dead.
Storm did propose too quickly though, knowing she had an interest to Ridge too
The sandcastle wedding is one of those things that's romantic in theory but kinda goofy in reality? Still I miss when soaps did big wedding like this. The other day I saw a Y&R clip of Jack & Diane getting married at Jabot with only Tracy in attendance dressed like she's going to Cost co. 😬

I definitely think the writers were using the weddings as a way to comment on the relationships in question, or the character of the brides.
Both Brooke's Forrester weddings have been extremely extravagant and centered on Brooke getting to live her fantasy - all the guests and even the groom have been supporting players in Brooke's "princess dream" . They have been all about _her_ wish fulfillment. It's a pretty big contrast to Caroline, who wanted to get married close to her mother's grave (foreshadowing that she too would die young).
I don't think the symbolism of the sand castle is a coincidence either, because James called Sheila "queen of the sand castle", alluding to that same metaphor.
Again I say.. Steph needed to team up with Mustapha and get rid of dead weight Lame James.
Mustapha found out all about Taylor in weeks, now he's even researched and found the wedding location for Ridge and Brooke (which BTW, was a mystery to everyone, including the groom, until that day).
It is months later and James is still playing war of words with Sheila and is no closer to finding out anything about her (other than she may/may not be having an affair).

What the heck! the show was on location at the beach yet the scene with James and Sheila was shot with a chromakey( blue or greenscreen) in studio. Does anyone know why? did writers decide at the last minute they wanted them to have a scene that wasn't scripted for the location on the beach?
Could have been that. They likely didn't have time since filming on location is expensive. Plus the wind blowing in the mics would have wrecked havoc on the audio and necessitated redubbing which they probably couldn't afford either.
But yes, it's unfortunate that such a beautiful scenery looks so shoddy.
