    Video Summary:
    G protein-coupled receptors are transmembrane proteins with 7 transmembrane segments. They are also called 7 pass receptors or serpentine receptors. As per the name, they are coupled with G proteins. G proteins have GTPase activity and they bind with GTP or GDP. Heterotrimeric G proteins have α, β, and γ subunits with α subunit having GTPase activity. Different trimeric G proteins are Gs, Gi, Go and Gq. This group mediates the response to a wide range of signal molecules. Monomeric G protein is similar to the α subunit of heterotrimeric G protein. They include Ras, Rho, Rab, Arf, and Ran families of G proteins. They regulate gene expression and cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Now the cycle of subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins during signaling. Under resting state, the complex is associated with the receptor and the α subunit is bound to GDP. The binding of a ligand with the receptor causes the release of GDP and binding of GTP. This in turn causes of release of the free α subunit and βγ complex. They both affect different downstream signaling molecules. Eventually, the GTPase activity of the α subunit causes hydrolysis of GTP into GDP and phosphate. The inactive α subunit then dissociates from the effector molecule and re-associates with the βγ complex bringing the system back into the resting condition.

    • @NonstopNeuron
      @NonstopNeuron  3 года назад +6

      a lot. When I was learning animations, it took 7-10 days for 5 minutes of animation. Now it takes average 3 days. And I spend almost all the time of day on this work. At college or at home, I am working on this whenever I am free which I am most of the time. But I love this so I enjoy it.
